Truly one of the GREAT bands that never made it to a Worldwide audience. They should have been a huge Prog/Pop crossover. So tight live - all great players ....and gifted with Francis Dunnery - a fine guitarist, singer, writer and showman. Saw them live many times back in the 80s. Totally blew me away the first time in saw them. Still on of the BEST live bands I have ever seen...and believe me I've seen quite a few.
They played at my University just after 'Calling All The Heros' was released. It was a spectacular gig but there were dickheads in the audience determined to give Frank a hard time. He took no prisoners and totally anihilated the dickheads. So I walked away with not only respect for the music but also for his crowd control skills. I felt ashamed that the band got such a reception but it turned out that the dickheads were from an affiliated London Business School. It figures. I've never seen a band with such a coherent on stage presence. It was clear that they knew exactly what they wanted to do as a band. And history records that they went on to do it.
One of the best bands I've ever seen; totally took me by surprise. They opened for Jethro Tull and I'd never even heard of them, but about 1/2 way thru their opening song I was hooked! They owned the stage; Frank is not just a great guitarist, but he's a great showman and storyteller. Never have I been so immediately won over by a band, but they had it all...great songs, brilliant harmonies and playing and a tight but edgy stage show. So sad that Frank left; it'll never be the same without the magic that he brought, and the chemistry they had...
Budgie was another brilliant Welsh band! , Glad to say I met them all❤️I had a cousin who had a private place where they could practice! Amazing bands❤️❤️❤️❤️
I share the same story as you. They opened for Tull here in Phoenix (early 1990s) and I had zero expectations about them. I too was hooked after they took the stage. This was to be the first time for me to see Tull and was super excited but an outdoor concert in Feb is cold here in AZ and Ian Andersen lost his voice 40 mins into the show (he left the stage and it was over). But I am thankful for being able to see It Bites! One of my all time favorite bands!
A band at the peak of their powers enjoying every second. A hugely powerful performance. I saw them live 4 times back in the day and literally lived and breathed them and tried to record every TV performance as they were so magnetic to watch and hear. Probably one of the most underrated bands ever in my opinion, all incredible musicians. Dunnnery is a genius and the chemistry between the original lineup was awesome. This brings back so many fond memories and I keep replaying as I would have done back in the day when I would rush home from School and put on the VCR😅 Thanks for posting, fantastic 👍
Saw IB on their last but one UK tour - And quite simply they were F'ing AWESOME! - Totally blew me and my mates away.....still remember the gig after all these years....Their music still rocks and rocks and rocks - Top Musicians - Fine, Fine Music.
Quite simply AWESOME !! I have always loved It Bites....and Mr Dunnery's work . This stuff brings floods of fantastic memories back . Been going mad with my collection and RUclips in the last couple of days . If this is yourself administrating this page Francis .....thank you for all your stuff over the years . You are one of my Heros !!
One of the best bands I never saw live. But loved none the less! Great to see these clips on-line. Thank you for posting! Getting a warm feeling watching:-)
Pre-digital, tape stretch races the audio. When under the influence analogue would mess you up.🤩 Love IB, love Frankie, get back together and give us songs to remember.
I'm a late omer to this wonderful party, so can somebody tell me why comments don't mention John Beck? BTW, love Francis and the rest of the band, so tight!
Although it is a performance supported by a high-level technology, there is no difficulty like progressive rock, rather pop, but it does not end with popular popularity, surely surprising and unique, sometimes cute. It is poetic music comparable to Jimi Hendrix. In other words, human-like music itself.
@kitrichardson haha i didn't hear that before. also, if you put a colon between the minutes and seconds, then it links to that point in the video. n00b alert!
Such a brilliant, brilliant song. Many were from It Bites but that one is just so deliciously perfect. I wish we had gotten more from them back then. Frank released something recently under ItBitesFD but, hate to say it, just ain't the same. He's gone Americanised. It needs him and John Beck but that's like asking for Gilmour and Waters back together. Too many bands piss off their audience with their splits. :-) Just sayin'.

They were indeed up there with the very best in everything but success.

Probarbly the most underated band in it´s genre thru time.
Saw them live, awesome, they had such a presence and "conviction".
@@jean-renepirlet yeah I seen them Live also. The problem was Rock n Roll. Frank now does a Blues Act and will suit him greatly as an Artist.
Timeless love blasting this in my car and people haven't got a clue what the hell I'm listening to !!!
Same...yhou get some great stares from people.

Great story.
They were also the 2nd music act that I ever got to see live after Big Country and the very 1st at Rock City in my home city of Nottingham.

5:43 Probably the most underrated ending.
its brilliant when you have a band with a front singer that sings with emotion ,

Best song of all time. IN MY LIFE THERE'S BEEN GLORY AND HEARTACHE..Awesome. What a guitar break.
Best live band ever!
Brilliant..... Criminally underrated
Tightest band I've ever seen. Awesome.
Saw IB on their last but one UK tour - And quite simply they were F'ing AWESOME! - Totally blew me and my mates away.....still remember the gig after all these years....Their music still rocks and rocks and rocks - Top Musicians - Fine, Fine Music.
Such remarkable virtuosity for such young guys...musically, lyrically.
Frank dwarfs his axe....Big bloke, huge hands
One of the few truly honest songs about the schizophrenia of love. It rips my heart out. Sheer genius.
Just a brilliant band.....they would still be relevant today...
Too good.
Anyone name four better musicians.
Totally mind blowing live.
Shame they can't get it on again......
This group was a tight live as there were on on the released music.
FD it bites the best gig I ever saw and I've seen all the best
Great and extraordinary band👍
6:49 And that's called a perfect perfect fifth!
What a moving coda...
One of my life's regrets . . That I wasn't there for this! It Bites in their prime were brilliant.
Me too
I was. It was magnificent.
Fantastic band. Fantastic performance.
For a moment .. Frankie was a golden god
Seen these live.... brilliant as are all their albums. Far too shortlived!

I hear ya Frankie , this song sums up my romantic life to a tee 🙈
Powerful live song, saw them live at the Barrowlands in Glasgow, fantastic concert.
One of the best bands I never saw live. But loved none the less! Great to see these clips on-line. Thank you for posting! Getting a warm feeling watching:-)
The best live band of that era, my only regret is only seeing them twice, love the solo music too.
Pre-digital, tape stretch races the audio. When under the influence analogue would mess you up.🤩 Love IB, love Frankie, get back together and give us songs to remember.
Mr.Dunnery in London Town t'row nite-lets have some of this!
Amazing song. Class & personality. A unique band
just too good for then and now...
@AndyK234 I have a particular soft spot for the bit at 2.32 when the keyboardist goes 'meow'.
Saw them in Edinburgh supporting Robert Plant in the late80’s brilliant !
Me too but at the now defunct Astoria in London
Yup me too in Birmingham.
I saw them at another Robert Plant gig, they were more enjoyable than Plant!
Ditto I was there too!
Grandes It Bites.
I was there -Thanks
Tuhle kapelu miluju,,,,
I'm a late omer to this wonderful party, so can somebody tell me why comments don't mention John Beck? BTW, love Francis and the rest of the band, so tight!
When they all respected each other before someone’s ego got in the way. Such a shame.

Lui ha suonato con Robert Plant.. è .un biondo molto figo e un ottimo musicista
