  • I needed to switch it up and try writing in new locations, so I took a week to write in new places like coffee shops, libraries, bakeries, and had so much fun and some yummy snacks in the process! Enjoy this writing experiment as I work on editing draft 6 of my high fantasy book :).

    2:05 Your expression is priceless.
It must be an extra bit of fun to live in a city that has a Barnes & Noble, but it can't top a well-tended library. There's a certain comfort to libraries, stepping away from the world's chaos to not just absorb valuable ideas but (in our specific case as authors) to create some in return. By the way yeah, "writerly" makes more sense.
My apartment building has never had fire drills. We don't even have extinguishers. So (with my more heightened senses) I've designated myself the human alarm for people if an emergency ever happens. Praying to Vishnu it never does.
The place where you got your croissant looks exactly like the L'Auberge de France in my city ... right down to how the shelves are labeled. LOL.
Your 3560-word day is a wonderful high note to end the experiment on.

I definitely write more if I write in a coffee shop than at home.

Good morning, Sara and happy Wednesday. It's interesting of you trying new things for writing (editing) and enjoying a change from the normal routine you do. Have a lovely day, happy writing and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Having a common space in your apartment sounds cool. :D
It's always nice to try writing in a different space.

I write at the bar during the week a couple days a week. I think changing the environment can help creativity but sometimes people won't leave me alone. Lol

i can't write around people. I get too distracted and inclined to talk to people. If I had the resources, in an ideal world, I would get myself a cabin somewhere in the woods for a month and eat nothing but canned beans and crackers. It's amazing how much you got done with all the cool cafes with pastries and crepes! yum. (I'd just be eating!) My favorite scene and moment though, is 4:48!

Happy thanksgiving to you and your family Sara. We do not celebrate it here in Africa, so eat some good food on my behalf. 🙂

am I the only one needing some resolution on the fire alarm plot line? I mean, did it went off or not? Was the office lying about it to make Sarah get up really early? Was the crepe place involved in this?
