I first wrote an origin story in the essence of "And Then There were None" by Agatha Christie, then a recipe poem, and then ended up liking and turning in a spin on a villanelle.

Great video. I am a self-taught writer who began with fanfiction and is now (supposed to be) writing nonfiction.

Great video, it was fun to see your writing process! I'm doing a Creative Writing degree and I can totally relate, all the revisions and still not feeling like it's worthy of submission, plus the stress and sleeplessness... but at least you're organised and have friends who can beta for you last minute!

What do you do when you have moments of creative electricity? Do you use it for your own work or use it to knock out editing assignments?
I'm starting a Creative Writing BA (Hons) in September, so I'm doing as much research as I can on what it's like.
I'll be making another video soon on what classes I had to take, and what I enjoyed and didn't enjoy!
@@SaraLubratt That would be great! Can you also mention what types of assignments were set like prose, commentaries, presentations or essays, ect? I haven't found much information on that, it would be really useful!

@@Tom-my2pm I don't think there's any such thing! Chose the one with the most interesting course and most comfortable surroundings. I applied to Aberystwyth, De Montfort, Winchester and Chichester.

I am student writer too hehe🤣 and I am from Public School, in our school there's section named " SPA SECTION " which means " SPECIAL PROGRAM IN THE ARTS", it's like a CLUB just like in private schools, since my school is public so there's no CLUB CLUB thingy HAHA, there are just 5 (talents) category to chose in SPA SECTION which is WRITING, DANCING, SINGING, VISUAL, ACTING, AND MEDIA EDITING, and we're in one section, one room, same adviser, but different teachers about our talents, like different teacher for singers, different teacher for dancers, different teacher for media arts, diferrent teacher for visuals/Drawing, different teacher for acting and especially different teacher for Creative Writer student, and first of all you need to take Audition, and then I did, first I audition for dancing, but I think I failed HAHA, but they approach me to be writer, so I agree, then now I am a student writer for 2 years from now on🤣 and its not just easy for us SPA STUDENTS, teachers always compare us to other section, especially for that special section which is the FIRST SECTION, they do have high expectation to us, ahm its just annoying HAHA, but still you know, just understand I think... ahm oh god HAHA I just explain my whole story about how I become student writer HAHA, sorry about my explanation HAHA, LOVE💓 YOUR VID! So like what genre do you plan on writing if you haven’t said so already because I want to major in creative writing (fiction) once I get to college in a few years and also do you have to write poems as one of your courses or does it all depend on what genre you plan on writing??
I write science fiction and fantasy novels. I was in a poetry class at the time and have written poetry in the past. Genres and forms will mostly depend on what classes you are in! But that's so exciting! Good luck!

What was that dashboard window when you opened your laptop around 7:40-ish minutes? looked really cute.
That was the website my school used to organize classes so homework and syllabi were easy to find :) I think it's called Canvas. A lot more annoying to use than it is cute 😂
