Does anyone remember the protests against the Vietnamese war. Protests were held everywhere, at times it got very violent from the police towards the protestors. Protesters would march peacefully down the main city streets, it was illegal to hold demonstrations without a permit and of course in qld the government would not give a permit. The police were often brutal and many arrests. The difference between that protest and this is that it directly affected young Australians being drafted into a war we had no business being in. These young people are fighting for freedom for a regime that has no belief in democracy. I don’t agree with any war it only benefits military powers who make the weapons. For Australia to hold this military expo during this period is bizarre and inflammatory.

Does anyone remember the protests against the Vietnamese war. Protests were held everywhere, at times it got very violent from the police towards the protestors. Protesters would march peacefully down the main city streets, it was illegal to hold demonstrations without a permit and of course in qld the government would not give a permit. The police were often brutal and many arrests. The difference between that protest and this is that it directly affected young Australians being drafted into a war we had no business being in. These young people are fighting for freedom for a regime that has no belief in democracy. I don’t agree with any war it only benefits military powers who make the weapons. For Australia to hold this military expo during this period is bizarre and inflammatory.
