It's been a few years since the last DDYD so I thought I'd do another with my current style and see what I could do with it! This track + working the vtuber model/rigging + video editing has been a four month project that I'm happy to finally finish up, there's lots of other tracks I've been wanting to finish/start on~ \(◐ω◑)\
For this vid I wanted it to double as showing off my Sine model & some cool things it can do with its toggles. For those that think this is just an animation are are not familiar with vtubers, it's actually a fully rigged vtuber model I made myself and can track my movements/expressions irl, meaning this video was for the majority live acted so his movements would seem more realistic and less static. I had to do 10-20 recording takes of each section and pick through which looked the best/had no timing errors. The only part that was actually animated separately was his movements at 2:16 and 2:26, which are toggles created just for this song.
The model and rig took probably 120+ hours casually working in two months, and that includes drawing the model and then rigging. He has around 1,000 separate pieces since I wanted his model to be very animated and more pieces = more animation = more work, and technically he's not finished since there's minor tweaks I want to do, but these tweaks weren't neccessary for this video so I skipped em for now.
His mask at 2:42 is kinda at a beta stage since it wasn't doing what I wanted it to do, but I included it anyways since it's still neat, and everything has on/off toggles as well (for instance, his wings toggle off since they're beeeg and would get in the way of the screen for normal vtubing streams, as well as his fur bolero thing, collar, suit etc).
As for the track, I started this in December & took 16 hours. Most of my DDYD series are traditional and don't deviate much from the original melody I use, so this time I got more experimental and used more original stuff to spice things up. Given the focus of this vid was for Sine it made sense to deviate much more, I can always write another that's more traditional and refocus back on Gaster.
So I've been a busy bee behind the scenes for sure, I find that the more ambitious my projects are, I tend to upload less often, and unfortunately I have a lot of ambitious music projects planned & being a one woman army makes that difficult, but I'm stubborn & not easily deterred so LOL

First of all, the ribcage is open and is not exposing a soul. Second of all, Napstablook is the only monster in the entire underground who knows about beats (you could argue that Sans with his trombone has beats, but thats 3 seconds of music bro.) Thirdly, how in the frick is this entry intact? Hotland depends a lot on the lab, including the core. Without the lab, or it collapsing, the core would implode/explode, therefore destroying at least all of Hotland. Finally, the ending makes no sense. Monstrueux could be a untranslatable term in Wingdings, or it could be his middle name.

AAAAAAAAAA I'm loving the new fresh take you brought to the song. The original went hard all the way through, and this one has a more varied and nuanced approach. Of course both are still absolutely amazing in their own right.

That bass is juicy. I'd say all the time and effort paid off on this project. The model also looks hella fluid, so the rigging for that was good as well. Now I kind of want to do a mix of this lol.
The more I listen to this, the more I hear the improvement from the version I downloaded off RUclips in 2016 before I even got into music. I can hear the mixing/master is crisper, you have a better direction of how to guide your remixes/originals in a music theory sense and overall the work put into the vtube avatar itself gives the song a unquiet vibe. And since I've listened to it a few dozen times, those quiet sections hit different as it's easy to make loud sections in an EDM song, but it's hard to get the quiet sections to flow right and I think you did a wonderful job

Now im on a music tech course after being inspired by all your stuff over the years, I'll be moving onto the juicy stuff like synthesizers next year. Without you I'd probably be in a grave since I was in a bad spot back then but your music kept me going long enough to finish high school, and for that I cant thank you enough. Actually it's not so much as an animation that's a vtuber model and sharax took multiple takes to get it just right a vtuber is where it tracks your movements and such so it's her moving her model

DDYD was always one of my faves so I'm so happy to see yet another remix of it! Also omg the detail of the speakers vibrating to the beat on Sinewave's wings is so cool!
Cheers for this, I like remixes like these where its not just the origonal song slowed or speed up with more effects/filters. Though I don't get the line said from the background character or who he is but chances are thats more me just really rediscovering your channel again only recently than anything else.
