I stumbled across this channel the other day as I was DESPERATELY searching for an ATS channel that had commentary (for some reason, very many channels dont talk) besides Jeff Favignano's channel. I gotta say, I really like this content creator. Good personality is always needed, and he has it, but I also just appreciate how much he actually has a loving passion for his profession. The vibe I get seems similar to how a lot of the old cowboys felt about their way of life as cowboys. Sure, a large number didnt LOVE being a cowboy, it was just the job that presented itself and they needed the work. But then there was a whole lot who really did love being a cowboy, living the cowboy life, and working the cowboy work. And this guy has that. Truckin for a living in real life, and then truckin for the FUN of it in a video game simulation just because he can and wants to, and taking all of us along for the ride too because why not, right? Love everything about this channel so far (including the sweet set up...Im totally not jealous of having not just a wheel, but a shifter and console panel), loving the vibes, and def earned a thumbs up and a sub. Love it all. Keep up the good work rubber duck!
Also if you happen to read this, I really appreciate the emphasis on moving over to the left lane for vehicles in the shoulder. Im a Traffic Officer in Texas, and before that I worked roadway and highway construction as part of dedicated traffic control teams. Ive seen too many times where someone not moving over or slowing down caused a tragedy that was 100% avoidable. I myself have nearly been hit a few times by folks not wanting to slow down and move over, including once where I had to quite literally leap over the hood of the car to avoid getting ran over, and I know an officer who 10 years ago got hit while trying to help a stranded motorist and to this day is bound to an electric wheelchair and has brain damage so bad he cant even form words anymore. Barely has any use of his hands, and cant dress or take care of himself. Dude was 27 when it happened, and this is the rest of his life because someone didnt move over. So thank you for that. Most folks may pay it no mind, but I appreciate the advocacy for moving over.
First truck I ever owned in real life was a pretty junky International 9400i. It had an ISX that was turned up to around 600hp. WOW. Man that thing would PULL. But being an ISX that was turned up it started to lose its head gasket after a few years. Engine was completely unknown condition to me when purchased. Got a good deal on a Freightliner Classic a few years ago now. It has the N14. I am a huge fan of it. Very simple to work on. Funny enough I used to play truck simulator way back when I was an engineer. Stay safe out there buddy! Hope your IRL business is doing well. The last few years hasn't been the best time to be trucking.
An anecdote for the whole beating up on other's trucks thing.....When I was in school getting my CDL it was through a technical college. 2017 Cascadias with a 10 speed manual. The truck my class used to learn on had already had a transmission replaced by 45,000 miles lol. The amount of grinding and awful noises that I didn't even know it was possible for people to create with a stick shift was wild.
42:26 When you take a Quickjob, you get teleported to it. For more realism, you can take quickjobs from the location where the last one ended. You can also use a console command to set time a bit further to simulate the time passing between quickjobs. The amount of time passing can be relevant to where you are taking the job from (say, 1 hour, if you are getting one from the other side of the city, or, say, 11 hours if you were supposed to have a rest). Otherwise, your character is working non-stop with quickjobs and gets teleported all over the map. Unfortunately, SCS didn't leave some realistic settings for this initial gameplay. I suppose they viewed Quickjobs as more of a tutorial and didn't want to put an effort into making it a simulation of somewhat realistic work for hire.
"Roads closed for two weeks" Me: where are you living that the roads are repaired in two weeks!? Where I live its months at a time for less than 600ft of road! I would give my left leg and right arm for road work that fast!
I haven't played in years, but for some reason hearing the mention of RuneScape made my ears perk up a bit, haha. Just found your channel tonight after getting back into ATS (so relaxing to play), and loving what I've seen so far. Would be cool to see you play some RS or whatever else you like to play as well.
ATS has become one of my favorite sims over the years I've been playing it, especially since I got back into it recently and all the amazing work that has been done to it, and how many amazing mods there are to make it so much more realistic. It's also going to be a mainstay for my ASMR gaming channel!
I do agree with you about backing up in the dark, the 4 way light does the trick! I'm looking forward to seeing more content and also I'll check out your other channels as well! Cheers!
6:48 If I recall correctly, all transmissions in the vanilla game are actually automatic. It says 18-speed, but it's an auto 18. I remember back when I was setting it up, I googled all those transmission numbers and found out that they are all automatic shifting. And Quickjobs always use vanilla game transmissions. So, when I played, I used automatic setting for quickjobs and then switched to a correct manual setting after buying the first truck with a manual transmission from the Real Eaton transmissions mod.
I love the series so much and decided to subscribe! But I was so pondering how do you get your truck to shake while changing gears my truck never shakes for some reason
Hi little tip to see better at night. Is to close your eyes for min or 2 and opem then up up slowly. Do that for a week or 2 and you will start to see wayy better in dark area. I been doing it from age 10 when i patrol our farm. And i ride with lights off. People ask me how i see that good in darkness. Only problem is if its pitch black i sturgle a little. But u can see the outline of things and in about 3mins u will start to see way better. Its how your eyes is build.
Hey Mike, love all the series you puttin out. I'm looking in to buying a shifter from atsaccessories, and was wondering how long your shifter extension is. It seems to be the perfect lenght.
Could put kreichbaums engine sound pack on this profile..gives all the quick job trucks a little variation..especially if you're gonna be putting 80-100k miles on quick jobs
One thing I do is if I'm driving for a quick job, I put the limiter on assuming the owner of the truck would have it for hired drivers. When I run my own truck I take it off.
I wish the waved when you honked too. Or jumped. They should randomize a wave, hat tip or something and then once every so often they jump. Or act surprised and throw whatever’s in their hand. Real life.
Just downloaded and got into ATS. It would be cool and add a dimension to the game if you had a CB where you could talk to other AI truckers and actual online players. Is there a mod for that?
I swapped to another economy mod, it was taking days to level up with that one you use, also any drivers I set on just lost loads of money and bankrupt me, this other mod I use is better by far.
@@MikePettGaming The one I use now is by ptr1ck, the economy is fairer plus the employed drivers make a bit of money for me and don't bankrupt me like before lol!
Going to start my first realistic profile today just waiting for ATS to update I am using the workshop mod because it was easier me to set up and use but I will be using automatic gears because I am playing on the Rog Ally so controller playing I will update when I can on how I am doing 😀
I'm really loving this series and playing the economy mod. One thing though about the company driver grind maybe someone can point me in a direction or maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Irl I would never drive for a slip seat company. And that's the way this feels. I'd love a mod or workaround to be in one truck for the company driver grind. I'd even be ok if it were with a cheap bare bones Cascadia or Volvo like most irl companies.
I have a problem with my Thrustaster T300. I load the game and start driving and after 1000ft there is like a little stutter and after that the T300 and the the ingame stearingwheel are not aligned anymore. Means I need to holt the T300 to the right or left to drive straight. I can disconnect and reconnect the T300 but after a short time its the same. I think the issue started after connecting to world of trucks. I have 600h in the game and this never happened. Can someone help me?
I know this is an older video, but if anybody doesn’t know, you can do a console command to disable the synchronizers in the transmission for added realism. G_hshifter_synchronized 0
Loved the video and how you are splitting all the channels! I've been following along with my own Owner Op profile. I'm new with the Trucky App. Is there anything special we need to set up on it? What happens if I switch to my normal profile for a night of driving?

Yeah something is wrong, I am lvl2 now and have another bank reaching out to me, up to 500k now also my high value skill actually does give me bonuses unlike what yours shows
@dasauto75jh used truck sales is base game. That’s just in the game to begin with. Basically it’s hard mode / super veteran mode. Still both very difficult!
Who cares if you dont get a notification, I dont turn those on anyway, if I want to watch something, I look at my subscriptions tab, which shows me uploads each day from everyone I subscribe to. keeping things on twitch is a mistake. lots of people dont go to, or even like that site.

Dimming dash lights really helps my eyes adjust. If too they’re bright, everything else just looks dark.
I would dim lights to signal other trucks at night. He's probably checking his mirrors right about the time you bright light em. 😉

Do you have a vedeo about your steering wheel setup? What type of steering wheel are you using?

With you being a professional OTR driver, I am just wondering what you think about safety guards to prevent rear and side under ride accidents.
I do not do OTR. I’m crazy, but not that crazy. 😂 I’ve been always local owner/op company guy. OTR is another breed 👊🏼
exactly how do you get that 1st person POV when you do the walk around? Assuming it's not a custom camera view?

Can you buy a truck with the economy mod, no matter what parts and what engine? because your truck as you have it is not possible at level 3 :o
