    Awesome.. You are have deep knowledge about Silat. Not just as a martial art or sport but a way of life.
    In minangkabau silat we call it "garak jo garik" (instinct & motion)
    "Raso jo pareso" (Deep feeling and self awareness how to interact with God, with Ourself, with humankind and nature using all aspect Intellectual, emotional, and spiritual)

    One of the top martial artists going. Certainly one of the best exponents of Silat in the world and especially in the U.K

    Whether it's the mystical art of pencak silat, the mysterious expression of the suling (flute), or the astounding natural beauty, Indonesia is an incredible place. Steve expresses it so well here.

    Another art that looks good but doesn't work in the real world

      With all due respect, if you knew Steven's journey and how he got into the martial arts in the first place, you would know that this art really works in the real world.

      @@SatriaArts with respect back to you I do of his story that hasn't anything to with my opinion of his art or even my own all traditional arts train differently have different forms etc but all do the same when it comes to actual fighting . We all have the same human body & there's only a certain ways we can move it

    • @SatriaArts
      @SatriaArts  6 лет назад +2

      I'm in total agreement with you. At the end of the day, you don't need martial arts to defend yourself, you need to awareness and wisdom. However, your comment as to whether the art works in the real world or not, for Steven Benitez, it does, otherwise he would not waste his time doing it. But of course, you are entitled to your opinion.

      @@SatriaArts well it works for him & that is good but I never said they don't work as everything in mma can be found in all traditional martial arts it's not the art it's how it's practiced & the delivery system used I'm not against Silat myself it's just when I've watched 2 Silat practioners fight I couldn't tell the difference between it take kwon do karate or kung fu
