Man the burger must be revolting, I doubt that meat was seasoned much at all so imagine eating 3lb slabs of unseasoned, dry(probably overcooked) beef.
It looked really gross.
Not to mention, most people just got like 2 pounds of NOTHING BUT that dry, unseasoned beef. I would gladly pass on that challenge lol.

Given that He stated "40 man team" that means 41 people were eating this thing. Every person would need to consume 4.6lbs each to evenly eat the entire thing.
Or he included himself in that team number. Who knows. If it was 40 total including himself, it was 4.75lbs per person, and I guarantee some of those skinny derby girls weren't going to pull their weight there, lol. He needed a better team if he wanted to pull this off with everyone able to guarantee they could eat up to 5lbs of food at once, like I've seen Adam or other big eaters pull off in one sitting.

They should make the burger wider instead of having it super thick and have it overcooked as fuck on the outside
The size is dictated by the size of their oven. Any wider it wouldn’t fit in. They would have been better to make it the same diameter, but thinner, and make multiple patties. It would have looked heaps better, been easier to serve and actually taste nice.

I'm a pretty hearty eater myself but, I could not imagine having all that dry bread and beef sitting in my stomach. Plus, beef tends to lay heavy.
If I had a burger challenge like that, I would invite my neighbors, family, slobs, homeless people, sci-fi geeks, and athletes.

As everyone else has already pointed out, that patty looked so dry and unappetizing. The ironic thing is the shots of the restaurant's more normal patties (albeit, still very large at 1lb, 3lb, 10lb) looked reasonably moist. I'm wondering if that's because the latter were grilled on flattops vs baked in the oven for 16 hours (out of necessity, I get that). So to take that that challenge, they needed 40 people, all who had to average slightly under 5 lbs each. Probably more than people should be eating anyway.

I agree. Those individual patties looked delicious. Making 2lb patties separately would have been much more appetizing and they would have likely knocked it out. This monstrosity looks inedible.

or cooked it layered, thin layers of meat with little portion of toppings between, would help to trap some moisture from toppings, would look much more apetizing and actually edible instead of dry slab of meat
