Yeah I remember the first time I heard this song and I didn't know the band. I was doing dishes and I thought I can relax to it or something untill she shocked me with her voice! I enjoyed doing dishes for the first time

If you are new to metal, Jinjer is a diamond in the rough man. The musicianship that this band has is one another level. Tati has such a vocal range that many people get caught up in her growling/screaming, but this is an EXTREMELY talented woman. Jinjer pulls from all genres of music. They are so damn technical and have so many switch-ups in ALL of their songs. They are truly rock gods!!! Check out Teacher Teacher next bro. You will not be disappointed.
Watch On the Top, Judgement and Punishment (reggae and metal? yes), Perennial (Live at Wacken), Teacher Teacher, or just about anything. Sit Stay Roll Over (with their old drummer) is another fire track. Her voice is gut churning and beautiful at the same time. The band is tight, precise, talented as hell...really incredible. The best metal band in YEARS

She practiced for a lot of years to perfect her technique and has been doing it for over a decade. If you have any doubt, it's okay - skepticism is good and healthy. The best way to lay them to rest (couldn't resist the pun haha) is to watch an old bootleg from when they were nobodies without even a record label. Search "jinjer laid to rest" and find the video uploaded by NosSam in 2012 with the title all in Russian except the name Jinjer. It probably isn't high enough quality to react to but it isn't bad, and some have reacted to it. But there's plenty more Jinjer for reactions. Giving us the feels is what we come to Jinjer for. Your first date vs. 1 year thing is very close to my initial feeling haha. This song isn't explicitly looking for a partner, but another song on the same album called I Speak Astronomy was specifically written by Tatiana as a "call to the universe" to find someone she was mentally and spiritually compatible with - and yes, it has growls too, because she's into radical honesty. Don't we all wish we'd known in advance? She's currently dating the drummer of another metal band, Alex Lopez of Suicide Silence. Cheers! More that she doesn't like that this specific song went viral. I get where she comes from. And while they never anticipated this would happen, it did, and there are good reasons for it. Speaking for myself, not specifically into metal, but there are various metal bands that I listen to occasionally, not a big fan of growls in general, except in a few cases where they work well, my first time with Jinjer was actually Pisces, which happened randomly via RUclips autoplay (thank you mighty algorithm!). I wasn't even watching, only listening. And the balancing act between the cleans and the growls really worked for me. And that outro! A couple days went by, and RUclips played it again for me. This time, for some reason, I was watching. That's when my mind was blown. I hadn't thought for one second that the cleans and the growls were coming from the same person. Anyways, where I'm going with this is that it's been three weeks now, and I've been listening almost exclusively to Jinjer songs and reactions to them. Pisces was the gateway drug. I don't think I would have fallen in this spiral if it had been Words of Wisdom, Just Another, or On The Top. Or heck, even Perennial. And I'm saying this as someone who likes them all. Anyways, Tatiana might not like that Pisces went viral, but it's kind of the irony of writing good songs that appeal to more ears than your usual public.

You're right in calling this song a "gateway drug", and many metalheads have probably experienced some kind of it at the beginning of their metal journey. Just thinking why does it always need to have some sort of shock factor for pop (or other mainstream genres) listeners so they open their minds a little bit?
That second(?) pause was so perfectly timed, then you mentioned how mellow it was...haha, good times. Watching people hear this for the first time is a great hobby, and it's a bottomless well here on youtube. You should listen to some TOOL and Nightwish, too. Awesome bands and it will help to grow more attention. Trust me, both bands have a huge and crazy fan-base. For TOOL, wich is more Prog-Rock, I would recomend to start with "Schism" and "Sober". If you are new to metal, Jinjer is a diamond in the rough man. The musicianship that this band has is one another level. Tati has such a vocal range that many people get caught up in her growling/screaming, but this is an EXTREMELY talented woman. Jinjer pulls from all genres of music. They are so damn technical and have so many switch-ups in ALL of their songs. They are truly rock gods!!! Check out Teacher Teacher next bro. You will not be disappointed.

Watch On the Top, Judgement and Punishment (reggae and metal? yes), Perennial (Live at Wacken), Teacher Teacher, or just about anything. Sit Stay Roll Over (with their old drummer) is another fire track. Her voice is gut churning and beautiful at the same time. The band is tight, precise, talented as hell...really incredible. The best metal band in YEARS
This song is about her depression. And the duality of it.

"How did she know" intuition, it seems. Tatiana heard o.g. female growler Otep when she was 15, was shocked to find out Otep is a woman and was inspired to shock others. She practiced for a lot of years to perfect her technique and has been doing it for over a decade. If you have any doubt, it's okay - skepticism is good and healthy. The best way to lay them to rest (couldn't resist the pun haha) is to watch an old bootleg from when they were nobodies without even a record label. Search "jinjer laid to rest" and find the video uploaded by NosSam in 2012 with the title all in Russian except the name Jinjer. It probably isn't high enough quality to react to but it isn't bad, and some have reacted to it. But there's plenty more Jinjer for reactions.
Giving us the feels is what we come to Jinjer for. Your first date vs. 1 year thing is very close to my initial feeling haha. This song isn't explicitly looking for a partner, but another song on the same album called I Speak Astronomy was specifically written by Tatiana as a "call to the universe" to find someone she was mentally and spiritually compatible with - and yes, it has growls too, because she's into radical honesty. Don't we all wish we'd known in advance? She's currently dating the drummer of another metal band, Alex Lopez of Suicide Silence. Cheers!
Whether you check out the bootleg or not, I always recommend an actually live concert video (this is heavily edited, but still awesome imo) such as Perennial at Wacken or Who Is Gonna Be The One as the next step on your Jinjer journey.
I cannot believe the stuff you spout on these boards yet you never mention that Tatiana hates these reaction videos. Why will you never mention that? Are you afraid that Tatiana might stop loving you? Are you afraid you won't get as many likes?

More that she doesn't like that this specific song went viral. I get where she comes from. And while they never anticipated this would happen, it did, and there are good reasons for it.
Speaking for myself, not specifically into metal, but there are various metal bands that I listen to occasionally, not a big fan of growls in general, except in a few cases where they work well, my first time with Jinjer was actually Pisces, which happened randomly via RUclips autoplay (thank you mighty algorithm!). I wasn't even watching, only listening. And the balancing act between the cleans and the growls really worked for me. And that outro! A couple days went by, and RUclips played it again for me. This time, for some reason, I was watching. That's when my mind was blown. I hadn't thought for one second that the cleans and the growls were coming from the same person.
Anyways, where I'm going with this is that it's been three weeks now, and I've been listening almost exclusively to Jinjer songs and reactions to them. Pisces was the gateway drug. I don't think I would have fallen in this spiral if it had been Words of Wisdom, Just Another, or On The Top. Or heck, even Perennial. And I'm saying this as someone who likes them all.
Anyways, Tatiana might not like that Pisces went viral, but it's kind of the irony of writing good songs that appeal to more ears than your usual public.
@@xahal the comment and the first reply feel like the two ends of a spectrum, and yours seems to be somewhere in between. You're right in calling this song a "gateway drug", and many metalheads have probably experienced some kind of it at the beginning of their metal journey. Just thinking why does it always need to have some sort of shock factor for pop (or other mainstream genres) listeners so they open their minds a little bit?

Watching people hear this for the first time is a great hobby, and it's a bottomless well here on youtube. What's nice about this is that we can never have that first time experience again ourselves, but sharing the music we love with new listeners can give us just a bit of that feeling again, vicariously. You should listen to some TOOL and Nightwish, too. Awesome bands and it will help to grow more attention. Trust me, both bands have a huge and crazy fan-base. For TOOL, wich is more Prog-Rock, I would recomend to start with "Schism" and "Sober". For Nightwish, wich is Symphonic Metal, I would recommend "Ghost Love Score" and "Song Of Myself" both live at Wacken Open Air 2013. Greets from Germany! Stay safe!
