    What’s the reasoning for a zero rebound shock? Are there certain track or car conditions that this best suits?

      Building a shock with “zero rebound” refers to the shock only extending based on the spring rate rather than pressure in the shock. By having a ‘dead shock’ you are only working on one rate whereas by adding rebound you have 2 extension rates. Think of it as have a progressive spring where even though it is only one spring you have different tensions based on where the shock is in the stroke. By adding rebound, or air, your car will have a lot more aggressive of a pack on hard landings but can become unstable in spots where you need extra grip. Effectively you end up with a stiffer shock. Traditionally you will use more rebound in a more bumpy situation to help keep the car up and out of the ruts
