One year my husband and I planned to give "homemade" gifts for Christmas and we worked on projects together throughout the year to get it done. Best Christmas ever!
My husband and I go shopping at Sam's club. Lol He's a truck driver. So he's on the road a lot. But we do get together once a month with 2 other couples from our church. We head over to Jan's house and fix a meal together. Fellowship and sometimes play some games. It's a nice time with our friends, and really inexpensive. We each bring over supplies for a different part of the meal. I remember well all the snow in Michigan. I grew up there. Once in awhile, I miss the snow.
I have a shirt with the same print that’s on your cup, except my shirt says, “ I just want to stay home.”I love all your ideas! Low cost fun! If I were Jim, I’d do all of those ideas! Going on a picnic in the Spring and Summer is fun, Drive in movies, backyard summer movie night, thrifting and lunch, a short road trip to a new place, with a picnic lunch you bring along, and as long as your together having fun, the sky’s the limit! You have so many great ideas of your own, I’m taking notes!
All good ideas. We have discovered our local senior center. Our local library also has a number of activities and our local nursery (the crazy expensive one) has free classes. We have even gone for walked through our “Natural Nursery” as you do not have to buy things to just enjoy all the growth they have. Kurt us posted on what you do!
Love those ideas! So many fun and inexpensive things to do. I will check out the nurseries around here! I thought of the extension office too. They do events sometimes too!
Hi Renee! My husband and I always got something we needed for the house or around the yard as Christmas presents. We had everything we really needed, it’s the wants that we sometimes splurged on something. We traveled and always went cruising, so that was a covered area. We sacrificed when the kids were young and after that we thought we were teenagers again, lol. We used to go camping or to the lake for the weekends. We used to go to Ole Timers weekend and really enjoyed that. Date night sounds fun. I hope everyone has a very blessed night!
Going to a play is nice. High school plays are less expensive. They may be $10-$20 a ticket. You can keep an eye out to hitch schools around you. The high school in my town a ticket is $5 the one in the town over is &20. Shop around. There may be free concerts in the park come Spring. ❤
I’m love plays!! We have schools that have performances plus a local community theater. I got him to go once to see “Escanaba in Da Moonlight”. lol. Great suggestion
One of the things hubby and I would do was go to local Chinese take out then sit in car and eat and people watch...many laughs and good times. Beautiful sunsets or just cloud watching.
It is FREEZING up here too. Now Son & I are sick. Thank God the pantry is stocked with bone broth I made not long ago. And apple sauce, pineapple I canned…hopefully when my appetite returns, I have pea soup and stew on the shelf. I’m listening to your great ideas. Laughter is the best medicine after all!
Once in a while we go out to eat dinner or lunch. We live in an area of Oklahoma where there isn’t much to do unless you drive 2-3 hrs away. We have a state park few miles down the street but it usually full of stickers everywhere. Dirt gravel and thorns. We get goat heads bad sometimes. But Oklahoma is boring 🥱. I told Bruce our real date night is a trip every 6 months to our doctor’s appointment. lol. With fibromyalgia, scoliosis, and so forth and Bruce’s issues with hips , knees blood pressure even though he works as a truck driver . In Colorado where we are from there was plenty to do. Just too expensive a state to live.

I love the idea of having each person bring a part of the meal. What a fun night

You definitely have to be creative!! Colorado is really expensive I have heard. I lived in California and it was too. It is challenging!

This was a very nice video.
Thank you!
