Will it hurt the uni joint to put it in the parts cleaner wash it out and then blow it out with the air gun to make sure that there is no dirt or small rocks in it due to the boot being opened up?
Thanks for this video. Have a 2000 Mazda B2500SE 2.5l Stand shift, automatic steering light truck and am having a hell of a time just getting this parts name to buy the part. I tried and wound up with getting a rack & pinion bellows from Rock Auto. Please help. Where are you located? How much you charge to do this. I can't get the dust boot.
You didn't put any grease inside the new boots ?
I'll be changing out the whole assembly because the U-Joints are shot. Thank you for the great video!

Thanks! Great video, needed an excuse to go to Harbor Freight 🔥
Very informative video! just what i was looking for.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Question on a couple of tools you were using. What are the two plier tools called you used for the clamps?
Should be able to use regular c/v boot clamp pliers.
Just the video I needed! Thanks!
No lubricant before putting the dust boot?
This joint does not require any additional lubricant. The boot really just seals out the weather.
@@vansvehiclevideos thanks for the info.. I will be replacing it soon.
Can power steering fluid be leaking from this area?
Nope. It is a dry joint

The part may not be available , I would check at the dealer parts department for help locating one.
Thanks for video! About to do my 07 suburban.
No problem 👍
What if the 11mm steering gear bolt starts to strip on your snap on set when trying to remove? Thanks for your advice.
If the head of the bolt starts to round off, I would try a turbo socket to remove it then replace the bolt with a new one.
Any idea what the first tool is called that you used on the big clamp? I don't see it on Amazon.
Try a lisle 30500 clamp tool.
Do you think this would be similar for a 2011 Suburban 5.3?
Should be
Nice work , thanks.
Can you post the name and part number for the pliers ( crimping tool ). Can’t find it online
Lisle 30800 is the part number for the pair I use the most
