It’ll also mark the end of an era because it’s the last American sedan to be FWD. Many such cars entered production in the 1980s and survived until the late 2010s when the options were reduced to literally only this model. Because many foreign brands offer a large selection of cheap sedans and many Americans prefer SUVs over sedans, the odds of any American brand ever investing in a new sedan ever again are slim to none, except for the 4-door sedan variant of the Ford Mustang which will almost certainly be RWD-only. This means the window to get a brand new American FWD sedan in America will soon be closed forever.
@@anonymous3738 Well said I own a 2022. This last generation Malibu is historic. The last mid-size combustion engine family sedan to be built by GM.The Ct4 & Ct5 fall into luxury car category. The Malibu is affordable transportation that has aesthetic vaule to it and is pretty traditional in it's layout.
@@robertriley1569 Also, in the end, I said “in America”. The reason is because there are some other American FWD sedans currently in production such as the Ford Taurus, Lincoln Z or Buick Regal. However, those don’t count because they’re not available in the American market and probably never will due to insufficient demand. They’re all sold in China because sedans are still popular there, just like how station wagons are still popular in Europe. The only upcoming American sedan in America with a gas engine that I’ve ever heard of is the RWD Ford Mustang Mach-4 to fill the still-popular-in-America Dodge Charger’s void since Dodge doesn’t listen anymore.
I almost bought a Toyota Camry Hybrid, but the controls for the radio were nowhere to be found, and with its above-ground base price of $28000, I think the Malibu is the right choice. So what if it’s being canceled after ’25, if this car is your bag, go for it.
I've always like the looks of the Malibu..but GM deleted the other engine choices...the 1.5L turbo engine is too small and underpowered for a mid size car...not to mention the 1.5 hasn't had such a great reliability record
Drove the 2024 with same engine, I agree it could use a bigger engine since is a heavy vehicle. I drove from NY to FL and the 1.5 is adequate it can easily reach the speed limit on the Interstate. For consumption anything above the speed limite would eat gas fast.
@@calebbutler569 It will be shutdown in November, I love Malibu but it's tooooo old in my country, SGM can update interior but they can't be bothered, it's looks like a 90s car.
My 2016 hybrid runs nice with 180,000 miles on it and with parts being changed here and there it still is smooth and a really nice ride through highways for hours.
This Motor Future is clueless. This purported 2025 is almost identical to the 2019 model, which was a refresh of the ninth generation 2015 model. A small detail that was ignored. Did you ever wonder what human beings who walk the planet do to call themselves Motor FUTURE and put out this largely worthless stuff.
Looks just like 2015
If it's not broke, don't fix it
I'm so interested in Chevy Malibu and looking forward to see more Malibus for next generation.
It's being discontinued after this yr.
I have a 2016 Malibu it's nearly identical
A game changer! (last year it will be made)

when will it go on sale?
I’d look at Honda and Acura as their turbo four cylinders have more horsepower and better fuel economy.

You forgot to mention that gm discontinued this car.

You would sell a lot more cars if it had a six in it, kind of a big car to have a four banger in it
I'm sorry but I like the Impala better lol Bigger and faster 😁
Game changer thats going away next yr.? It doesn't have what it takes to dominate the market compared to Accord and Camry.
Same Ole crap, should have updated the Impala.
👍
I'd bring back the Fiero slap the GNX 3.8 turbo with upgrades in it...
😊
I thought the Malibu was being discontinued
Yes 2025 is the last one.
It's fake news, there's no Malibu 2025
Yes there is?😂 I literally just bought one Saturday

Literally just got one
@@calebbutler569 the one's there manufacturing now are being sold as 25 model's
Cyt kills the one😢
Looks like the older models. How does Chevrolet manage to pile crap this high?!
serious who would spend their hard earned money on such bore
Gm ruined that car. Then wondered why no one was buying them
The 2025 Malibu is Fantastic classy vehicle!!

2016 말리부 전면부가 더 이쁨. 디자인 다시 직전걸로 바꿔야한다

I have a 19 and was thinking this 25 looks identical to mine. Except I have a 2.0 turbo.
Wow, what a game changer... not
I cringe if I see a chevy malibu.
