I have a blue dial version of this watch (love the blue dial!). When I decide to wear it it is nearly 50:50 SKX007 or this one, both reliable with a litte more history on the SKX. The white dial/glow in the dark is just in the mail for me, found a used one last week.
Own 3 different automatic variants, the 17le, the Pepsi on steel bracelet and the black ny0040. Also have the eco drive promaster with the 4oclock crown
Cool video thanks.. i have 2 ny0040 s.. the blue is my daily wear i kept it on the stock strap i actually like it alot, durable and if you soften it up and wear it everyday for a while it really conforms to the wrist.. my other is a full lume on a razor strapcode steel bracelet. This is one of my favourite divers. I love the bezels industrial click, no finesse, just works well. I put mine on a Italian rubber strap that looks like the original but is much more comfortable. Great review, made me put the watch on as I haven't worn it for a while :-)

I love this watch. I went a little crazy and bought four versions of it. Black, blue, yellow, and luminous. I only seem to wear the luminous and black though. Is the yellow that rare? l will be selling the blue and yellow so someone can enjoy them. I will never sell the luminous one, one of my favorites. These watches wear great for smaller wrists

I bought one (brand new) in Spain about sevent-eight years ago. A keeper. I'm planning to install a sapphire crystal one of these days, I have found the on-line shop where they sell them: flat, domed, blue antireflective coating or just clear AR coating...
what is your wrist size? mine is 7 inches and the watch looks a bit too small with the rubber strap. i ordered 2 nato straps and a leather one and hoping it will look bigger

I just recently purchased mine on SS metal bracelet from an Italian website, Gioiapura. com, for about $190 US that included pretty fast shipping (5 days to US). It is a beautiful watch and a real diver's workhorse. Everything about it is made with the diver in mind. Does a diver need 120 clicks? No, but he does need a winding movement. Does the diver need an independently tested water resistance? Absolutely and good lume (w/ bright hands) to boot. Mine has a divers metal bracelet also. I would recommend this watch to anyone who wants a great timepiece and to divers especially.
Seiko made poor quality watches. you have to wear it every day to know that. time keeping is out. poor water resistant. Seiko is rubbish to be frank with you.
The NY004 is such an amazing watch. It doesn't have the name of the SKX but superior quality. Better than the SKX in every way.
