I strongly believe my ex moved on so quick bc he was over it before it ended but he also doesn’t know how to be alone I think. It hurts that he emotionally checked out before he left me bc I hadn’t. I still loved him so much and he didn’t feel the same anymore. Now he’s talking to someone else and is living his life happily without me. It went from “you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me” and “I can’t see my life without you” to, “I’m starting to see my life without you” and “im just not feeling it anymore”. I don’t understand. I just can’t seem to move on. 🥺

Still have no communication with him whatsoever, don’t have him on anything & he has never tried to reach out (probably bc he’s got a gf). I am feeling a lot better now though, don’t creep as much and when I do it doesn’t hurt as bad as it did in the beginning. I’m getting there for sure, I can finally see a light in the darkness. ☺️

A really tough reality is that most relationships simply just won’t work out, they will run it’s course either you like it or not. No matter how badly you want it to workout, it just simply won’t.

Isn’t it called rebound relationships when someone moved on soo quickly , like the love addiction type, that they’re distracting themselves from the reality of loosing someone significant. They have been in relationship for 9 yrs with no children. Both parties don't trust each other because both cheated while they were in relationship. I am on no contract for 3 weeks now. Yeah my first thought was a rebound. Just to fill a void ir boost their ego. Some ppl are codependent and need others around them constantly. Narcissistic people always need new supply as well. My ex had said he was emotionally and mentally tired as was i. I still wanted time to heal but he moved on. He isnt the type to self reflect but I am so this helped me understand it wasn't personal. I was def over the relationship but I still needed time. My ex moved on a week after. I don't feel threatened by the new person. Just surprising bc he said he loved me 2 weeks before moving to her. Oh well. He is her headache now and I've been headache free since I dumped him. He won't be any different with her.
Its only been about 4 months but I can't handle dropping my kiddo off and seeing the new guys car in the driveway, crushes me for so many reasons. It hurts so much. I blocked him on every social media, but it doesn't help a lot when I think about him constantly. He has moved on so quickly... And the worst part of it all is that the last time we spoke, we talked about seeing each other in order to have sex as in a friends with benefits thing, but then he fucking GHOSTED me and never answered any of my messages again. A week later he was posting a picture with another girl on his Instagram Story. I still have been having nightmares about this... He crushed me. :( Also, could you please talk about ghosting, Ashley? Why would you want to be friends with benefits? In that scenario, he's technically a "free-agent" and can see whoever he wants on the side and you probably wouldn't even know. Going the "friends with benefits" route just to keep that person in your life isn't worth it, and would probably cause jealousy and other problems down the line. Take care of yourself in the meantime, and hopefully you find someone better in the future.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. As someone who went back to an ex to do the whole “friends with benefits” thing, it never ends well 😖 it’s like being rejected and broken up with all over again. I’ve totally been in your shoes. Yes!! I will absolutely do a video on being ghosted very soon ❤️
My problem is not that he moved on with someone else, it’s that he moved on in a healthy way. He meditates, exercises, is calm. Maybe he said it just to hurt me, idk. But I hate thinking that he’s healthy and at peace while having had destroyed me in the process
I certainly understand why this would be triggering for you. However, I think it’s worth pointing out that just because someone meditates or exercises, doesn’t mean they are decent people. I’m not sure what this person did to you, but if they were intentionally malicious, hurtful, abusive, etc. without offering a sincere apology and acknowledgement of what they did, then this is not a healthy person. And if they did do that (as in offer sincere acknowledgement etc.) then I think it’s important to check in with yourself about why it is you want this person to continue to suffer. This is likely a reflection of unhealed wounds you have within yourself that have very little to do with your ex ❤️
In my experience it tends to be as if women move on faster than men. However, the truth is more like that the woman has tried to resolve relationship issues but the man doesn't understand or want to understand. Upset and devastated, the woman will discuss regularly and at length her relationship issues with her girlfriends. All the while, the man is oblivious to all of this, doesn't talk to his friends and just thinks the relationship will work itself out. Then, one day, the shit hits the fan again and the relationship breaks up for good. The difference now is that the woman, who has already spoken at length with her girlfriends about her relationship problems is already prepped and is emotionally and mentally prepared to deal with the break up and is able to move on as she has already come to terms and made peace with her decision. The man, who was oblivious to all of this is left at the stage the woman was when she started discussing her problems with her girlfriends. Devastated. Sweeping generalisations? Maybe, but that's what's happened with me and I hold my hands up to being that male.

hi! So i feel like it was me who helped those other videos get so many views as I watched them a dozen times this weekend lol. I recently went through a big breakup with a guy much like one that you mentioned in one of your other videos “ the nice guy Asshole”. I almost wish you could do an entire video on this alone because breaking up with someone who is so genuinely peaceful, sound, and seemingly wonderful throughout every stage somehow makes it even harder, and I feel like this is an experience not to my knowledge many can relate too? Or can? All I know is I was engaged to a truly wonderful human being, but he wouldn’t change in vital ways that were needed to move the relationship to the next step and make us both happy. We were different but we were also great together and I felt like if he could make those changes, it could work. Long story short, that ending has been excruciating for me. And he has already found so much peace and acceptance in it in just 7 months when we were engaged and together for 4 years. He’s so kind and loving in all his messages , and overall a good human and while that should make me feel good. It doesn’t. Not sure if you would ever consider this as a video topic but I would love to hear your thoughts on how to move on from that “ most wonderful human who broke your heart into 9000 pieces” aka the “ nice guy Asshole” Love you and your words ash. Thank you so much for sharing your story! I will ABSOLUTELY do a video on this topic because I agree it’s not something everyone can relate to. In my experience, most people can look back on their ex’s and think things like “thank god I didn’t end up with THAT” and it makes moving on much easier in my opinion. However, when the guy was genuinely a good person it makes moving on so so so much more difficult. Anger towards a total prick is so much easier to feel than sadness and heartbreak over losing a good person. Ugh. I’ve totally been there. Stay tuned!

Hi. Please tell me how you recovered? My 4 year relationship just ended last week. He was.. he is a GREAT guy... But I was beginning to get frustrated. I had stopped feeling any physical attraction. Thank you for your video. My ex has moved on 3.5 months after we broke up and its been killing and eating away at me on how quickly he has moved on from our 10 year relationship. It hurts to know that he doesn't love me anymore. I have noticed that he has been showing signs of anxious avoidant attachment style and I would appreciate it if you perhaps made a video that discusses the importance of knowing your partners attachment style and your own attachment style in a relationship. Knowing these things could be very insightful and perhaps it could be beneficial at understanding your (ex) partners actions and your own reasons for mistakes that you may have made in the relationship.
As a fellow anxious avoidant, I would LOVE to do a video about this. I’m cautious when discussing this topic given that I’m not a qualified mental health professional, but I agree that understanding attachment styles is really important! I will certainly consider doing a video about this. In the meantime, if you don’t already, I highly recommend following Silvy Khoucasian. Her work is incredible and very much based in understanding attachment styles.
I just recently ended things with my ex and i was so emotionally drained like you mentioned. Words can’t even explain how done I was and I just could not see a way to make things work at all. So when I ended it I felt shock, sadness, anger , etc. but it’s been less than a month and I’m starting to feel so much better. I feel so free and excited to be able to spend my time however I want & not have to deal with the constant back and forth. I do still love him and I’m not ready to be with someone else (relationship or FWB) but I am excited to go out and have fun and see what life has in stored for me

I was with my ex for 6 years, we were each other’s first everything. I moved out on December 1st and he already has his friend that he had “feelings” for staying over at our old home. Ashley, the end of the video got me so bad. Exactly what happened to me, I texted my ex 2 weeks ago, wondering why she unblocked me out of nowhere while she kept me blocked on IG for months. She said she didn’t know, I said I miss her and asked if I still would have a chance and she said she is in another relationship and she made to point of showing me picture of them together and trying saying how happy she was and that they match so much. That hurt me so bad and I know she did it by purpose. That’ made me feel so unworthy at the time. Why would someone do that?
Damn sorry to hear that, yea I couldn't imagine doing that to my ex ever, that's really inconsiderate, especially after you told her that you missed her. You being sad over that is 100% reasonable, I would've felt the same, honestly I would've gotten so frustrated that someone would do that right in my face. Same here! Was in a relationship with my ex for 1.5 yrs. I was ready to move to the next step. He was still grieving after the death of his late wife and I had lost my late bf within 4 months of one another. We didn’t know one another but met on the dating app something we both said we wouldn’t try. As commitment was discussed he said he wasn’t ready to commit and didn’t want to put all his eggs in one basket 😩🙄😢💔…Bf said he wanted to work on himself got on the dating apps in a relationship with someone else 2 weeks after our breakup. I did so much for him and his 3 boys as he was a single widowed father. I am hurt, feel used, and betrayed! Not only am I grieving over him but his boys too! Very hard emotionally for me! Everything will be ok in due time I keep telling myself! 🙌🏼🙏🏼🌟
I feel ya on that level tbh. My ex girlfriend been with whole another guy behind my back since somewhere around june until my bestfriend told me she found someone til this very day after she told me she aint looking for a relationship anytime soon but focus on herself since beginning of july. Yet after our break up she wanted me to be her friend still and all, (which I wasn't hundred percent sure about) then I hung out with her one day then her phone notification blew up from this same guy over & over n it feel big fuck you slapped across my face and she knew I had feelings for her still. So, my dumbass ended up messaging her ex later on, then she found out & I made whole entire lie about it even though it was obvious so she got mad at me and hated me. End of day though, I rather say my instincts knew that this was gonna happen and knew that she had someone else other than me in her life, so I did that extra bullshit just so she can purposely hate me and I never talk to her again because I wasnt gonna heal myself if stayed in her life

I did cut contact with him completely so I was able to heal and take care of myself. Do the same and never look back on someone that replaced you in the first place after all the love that you gave to them. Love yourself and love will comes to you.
I was in a relationship in 2018 this girl started out crazy for me. Mad when she couldn't be around me or talk to me falling asleep on the phone etc. Shortly after things started taking a turn for the worse, she started changing playing games not calling not answering my text rapidly, when I ask her whats wrong she beats around the bush and claim to still be hurt by a past relationship. After a spell I just let things go and moved on it hurted like hell. But she moved on least on Facebook she did! Tried to make me jealous about this new dude...yet never wanted to talk about me on social media. He ended up hurting her and ill admit I found joy in it. But to shorten the story to this day almost three years later I haven't gotten over her I tried but can't. I hate yet love her very much....both very much.
How do you do it though. How do you let go. You said how you waited around for something from your ex, but how the hell do you let go of that wish when you know it’s likely not going to come. 8 years together, she moved on within a month with someone else. There are not words to describe how I’m feeling beyond devastated, crushed, heartbroken, absolutely lost all will to live. So how do you truly get through this.
I work with my ex as we broke up in March 2020 we were together 8 years. I love my job and work wise we work well together. I don't want him back. But he has moved on and I really struggle with this I hate him being with someone else. He thinks I should be over it. Its caused a few issues where ive come home from. He knows how I feel and obviously doesn't care. Now he says she may start come to visit him at work. Told everyone except me in the bringing so not to hurt me. Or rub it in my face. Well mine bring the girl to show me that’s what he is doing.and then text me a week later that he is leaving to sort his life out.they got married a month in and welcome a baby months later.I was soo devastated.my mental health was drained.am picking up the pieces.seeing the trauma flashes in my head gives me anxiety sometimes . But I know I will b heal.
He emotionaly moved on and faded away out of our 4 years in a long distance relationship. I feel like I was worthless and it's like I was forgotten. I am still greeving and my feelings never ment anyting to him. For me I was made into someone that is Invisable and that our hole relationship was worthless. It's been 3 years since we broke up and I can't get over how worthless I feel... I am ashamed that I still love him.

i had an extreme mental health issue for 2 weeks, said my feelings were numb but i’m trying to get over it for him, and that was enough for him to say it was done. after everything. i’m so mad at myself because i feel like it’s my fault and i hate my brain for it.
You’re so welcome! Yes, I totally agree that much of these practices or shifts in mindset are easier said than done. We can’t be “talked out of” feeling our pain - it’s important to allow it to exist for as long as it needs to. Unfortunately there’s not really a simple answer to that question. If you truly love someone new then it doesn’t sound like you are using them! However if you still find yourself extremely triggered by your ex’s actions then I think it’s important to try and understand the root of that.
My ex set up all possible dating apps the day after a break up. That stingggg, I felt so betrayed and hurt.. But what’s the saddest about it for me is that he had no time to self reflect, so sad.. I was his first girlfriend at not that young age..
Ugh, I’m so sorry you’re in this position. Honestly, setting up dating apps the day after a relationship ends says far, far more about this other person than it does about you. It hurts so much and I feel used 😞 She pursued me relentlessly. I had my guard up because she got dumped not too long ago after a five-year relationship. I fell for her eventually. But, after our first date, she gave me all sorts of lame excuses about us being incompatible... She was like a switch being turned off suddenly... She went from texting everyday, all day, to not wanting to talk at all. I went 18 days NC and reached out. We texted one text per day for two weeks before I told her I still had feelings for her and wanted to try again. She broke the news to me, saying she had *just* found someone she really "loves and adores". Less than a month... and she is already in love. She asked to be friends. Few hours after breaking the news, she posted a picture of herself in her public IG with her new flame. She was still in my private IG... I was so hurt and decided to block her. I wrote a closure message stating that I love her and cannot be friends with her... Then I said that would be my last text. She never replied. It's been 12 days and I have not tried reaching out. I'm shattered and in pain.
I know how you feel. My ex has moved on 3.5 months after we broke up. It is especially painful as a month before he said that he misses me and wanted to meet up in person, but never scheduled a time for it. We have been together for 10 years and after we broke up he promised that he will not date or be in a relationship for a whole year. After a reached out to him 5 days ago he told me that he is in a new relationship and I said that I still love him just to hear nothing but silence and discomfort (he called after I reached out). I am in so much pain that I haven't been able to eat or sleep since I received this news. This is emotional and mental pain that is on a whole other level. I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had your heart broken. It truly is the worst feeling! I know how painful it is to have your hopes and dreams crushed like that. I think it’s great you wrote a closure text and that you got what you needed to get out. Although I know it’s painful that she didn’t respond, I don’t think there’s anything she could have said that would have made you feel better. I would continue the practice of providing yourself closure! It’s not something another person needs to give you. I so much love this goddess. Thank you for your posts. I was in a relationship where my ex never really loved and cared for me. It was 85:15 relationship. When she first broke up with me, 2 weeks later, she visited this guy. When we got back together again after like 2 weeks of her visit to the guy, I asked her where she went to, she couldn't tell me, always changing the subject. When she broke up the 2nd time, which totally the last, 2 months later, she travelled again to same location to see the, spent at least 1 good month there. I was like, why couldn't she tell me that there was someone else? How could she had moved on so quickly? I was seeing her post on social media(had to unfollow her to avoid emotional torture), when she was enjoying her trip on flights, something I couldn't do for her (I know I did all I could to make her happy and okay) Perhaps, she takes it that this her new guy is financially ok than me. But the truth is, I can't accept whatever she thinks.

But, I could sense her hatred n cold shoulders. I did that cos I have forgiven her and wanted to clear my conscience, letting her know that I am more mature n can't be in enmity with her. Me ex ended up with me and monkey branched. The worst thing is the feeling that you are not even worth mourning in sense of her giving herself time to heal. Previous relationship she had with my "friend" who hurt us both, and when I said to her I am starting to have feelings for her, she said she needs time and don't want to hurt me. It was he ho broke up with her.

This brings up an interesting thought as i recently had a Mutual break and we had had many deep conversations talking out all our issues and possible fixes in a calm manner. We both did not want to be alone but at same time was hiding from the underlying truth that we are just not as compatible as we thought we were. After the final come to jesus talk and we just agreed to end things with out any hatred or violence and i dont feel the sorrow that i did when first having the hard conversation. I feel im ready to just start dating again but so many people say give it time. So then i start to question my self am i ready already?
Thanks for this video Ash. I was one of those people who was commenting on your other videos regarding this topic. Not only did my ex move on super fast after out long-term relationship, she was one of those who talked so much shit to me about how great the new guy is. He's got so many friends, good job, own place, her mom likes him, how much sex they have, that she basically moved in with him (this was 2 weeks after we broke up) etc.....It was absolutely ridiculous. The was the tipping point for me, and I immediately blocked her on everything. Maybe a day or two later she emailed me, saying that she was sorry for everything, and that she wished she was more open to talking to me in person. Completely meaningless email, and I never replied to it. The emotional abuse and lack of respect was so real... with the breakup and all that on top of it, it totally destroyed me. I still think about it sometimes, along with creeping her IG from time to time even though I have her blocked (there's easy ways around it since she made her account public again, probably so I could freely creep it thinking that it would make me feel like shit). When I look at her IG I don't even know who that person is anymore, cause it's not the one I fell in love with. I just laugh at the pics of her pregnant with this new dude, I'm assuming he hasn't seen all her red flags yet, or is completely oblivious to them like I was for most of our relationship (beta simp mindset at the time)....he has no idea what he's in store for lol. Oh well, not my problem anymore :)
Good for you for blocking her and doing what you need to do to protect your emotional health! I’ll never understand why ex partner’s feel the need to continue to harass someone they supposedly cared about, when they are meant to have moved on. Sounds like you dodged a bullet! Happy, healthy people don’t act like she was acting.
My ex was weird because he broke up with me, then after a couple months of no contact. He hit me up wanting to be friends, we'd text sporadically not often, then about 2 months after we begen chatting as friends and following each on our socials again. He one day randomly posts a story of himself and his new boyfriend away on vacation in Mexico, the same place where we had gone on vacation. Needless to say I blocked him and just let it be but why else would he ask me to be his friend? I feel like he set me up so I can purposely witness him moving on happily
Was in a similar situation. I could tell the relationship was strained but I wanted to sit down and talk in hopes of fixing it. Instead she lied to another guy she was getting close to saying we had broken up months before we actually did. She did her test run going out with him for months till she finally decided I guess that it was a fit then broke up with me. Three weeks later they started dating officially.
As someone who moved on faster than I ever expected, i can share some of my perspective. I was 100% committed to my ex and my relationship. However, earlier this year she had several huge life transitions all coming together which turned her into a very negative person. I tried my best to embrace, understand and be with her but her negativity had already had her best and she just completely lost faith in our relationship. All she talked about was how miserable her life is, how I was not good enough and how our relationship would never work. I was pretty sure that I wanted to marry her but at some point during that time, all my feelings of dedication, faith and commitment started to fade away. I just couldn't think of myself happy again with her, nor could i think of her being happy with me. Right before her birthday two weeks ago she lashed out onto me again over a very trivial thing and she mentioned breaking up again. Instead of trying to comfort her like i used to do, i simply accepted it, packed all my stuff and left. And i felt relief like never before.
I hate to admit this, but I was the other person in a situation like this. I loved him, but I was getting very mentally unstable. I often felt like I was projecting my insecurities on him and it didn’t seem fair that I was bringing him down with me. So I let him go and he, like you said just let me. It’s been a year and a few months. The reality is only hitting me now and I miss him so much. Not having him beside me made me worse. I hurt him and I hurt myself in the process too. He’s now in a relationship and I don’t want to jeopardise what he has now so I thanked him for everything he’s done for me and I asked him to tell me to move on.

He cheated before but, I gave him another chance to fix it, I am trying to fix it, I even move to his country and bring our pet there to be with him, I cannot take the pet back now because of her health issue, which completely breaks my heart when I think my pet now is close to the new girl. All I do after finding out that he has moved on is "no contact rule", I blocked everything from him but, that person even used another contact to ask me why I blocked him, I was be like "seriously, why you can ask me this question?" I feel hurt as hell thinking what I have done to be with him, how much I tried to bring things back together and thinking about our happy moments before..everything now is meaningless to me. It hurts so much. I blocked him on every social media, but it doesn't help a lot when I think about him constantly. He has moved on so quickly... And the worst part of it all is that the last time we spoke, we talked about seeing each other in order to have sex as in a friends with benefits thing, but then he fucking GHOSTED me and never answered any of my messages again. Why would you want to be friends with benefits? In that scenario, he's technically a "free-agent" and can see whoever he wants on the side and you probably wouldn't even know. Going the "friends with benefits" route just to keep that person in your life isn't worth it, and would probably cause jealousy and other problems down the line. Take care of yourself in the meantime, and hopefully you find someone better in the future.

My problem is not that he moved on with someone else, it’s that he moved on in a healthy way. He meditates, exercises, is calm. Maybe he said it just to hurt me, idk. But I hate thinking that he’s healthy and at peace while having had destroyed me in the process
I certainly understand why this would be triggering for you. However, I think it’s worth pointing out that just because someone meditates or exercises, doesn’t mean they are decent people. I’m not sure what this person did to you, but if they were intentionally malicious, hurtful, abusive, etc. without offering a sincere apology and acknowledgement of what they did, then this is not a healthy person. And if they did do that (as in offer sincere acknowledgement etc.) then I think it’s important to check in with yourself about why it is you want this person to continue to suffer. This is likely a reflection of unhealed wounds you have within yourself that have very little to do with your ex ❤️

In my experience it tends to be as if women move on faster than men. However, the truth is more like that the woman has tried to resolve relationship issues but the man doesn't understand or want to understand. Upset and devastated, the woman will discuss regularly and at length her relationship issues with her girlfriends. All the while, the man is oblivious to all of this, doesn't talk to his friends and just thinks the relationship will work itself out. Then, one day, the shit hits the fan again and the relationship breaks up for good.
The difference now is that the woman, who has already spoken at length with her girlfriends about her relationship problems is already prepped and is emotionally and mentally prepared to deal with the break up and is able to move on as she has already come to terms and made peace with her decision. The man, who was oblivious to all of this is left at the stage the woman was when she started discussing her problems with her girlfriends. Devastated.

hi! So i feel like it was me who helped those other videos get so many views as I watched them a dozen times this weekend lol. I recently went through a big breakup with a guy much like one that you mentioned in one of your other videos “ the nice guy Asshole”. I almost wish you could do an entire video on this alone because breaking up with someone who is so genuinely peaceful, sound, and seemingly wonderful throughout every stage somehow makes it even harder, and I feel like this is an experience not to my knowledge many can relate too? Or can? All I know is I was engaged to a truly wonderful human being, but he wouldn’t change in vital ways that were needed to move the relationship to the next step and make us both happy. We were different but we were also great together and I felt like if he could make those changes, it could work.
Long story short, that ending has been excruciating for me. And he has already found so much peace and acceptance in it in just 7 months when we were engaged and together for 4 years. He’s so kind and loving in all his messages , and overall a good human and while that should make me feel good. It doesn’t.

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I will ABSOLUTELY do a video on this topic because I agree it’s not something everyone can relate to. In my experience, most people can look back on their ex’s and think things like “thank god I didn’t end up with THAT” and it makes moving on much easier in my opinion. However, when the guy was genuinely a good person it makes moving on so so so much more difficult. Anger towards a total prick is so much easier to feel than sadness and heartbreak over losing a good person.

I have noticed that he has been showing signs of anxious avoidant attachment style and I would appreciate it if you perhaps made a video that discusses the importance of knowing your partners attachment style and your own attachment style in a relationship. Knowing these things could be very insightful and perhaps it could be beneficial at understanding your (ex) partners actions and your own reasons for mistakes that you may have made in the relationship.
As a fellow anxious avoidant, I would LOVE to do a video about this. I’m cautious when discussing this topic given that I’m not a qualified mental health professional, but I agree that understanding attachment styles is really important! I will certainly consider doing a video about this. In the meantime, if you don’t already, I highly recommend following Silvy Khoucasian. I just recently ended things with my ex and i was so emotionally drained like you mentioned. Words can’t even explain how done I was and I just could not see a way to make things work at all. So when I ended it I felt shock, sadness, anger , etc. but it’s been less than a month and I’m starting to feel so much better. I feel so free and excited to be able to spend my time however I want & not have to deal with the constant back and forth.

I was with my ex for 6 years, we were each other’s first everything. I moved out on December 1st and he already has his friend that he had “feelings” for staying over at our old home. I just don’t understand how after 6 years he can replace me IMMEDIATELY. If it was after 6 months, sure. But it hasnt even been a full week. I feel defeated

Ashley, the end of the video got me so bad. Exactly what happened to me, I texted my ex 2 weeks ago, wondering why she unblocked me out of nowhere while she kept me blocked on IG for months. She said she didn’t know, I said I miss her and asked if I still would have a chance and she said she is in another relationship and she made to point of showing me picture of them together and trying saying how happy she was and that they match so much. That hurt me so bad and I know she did it by purpose. That’ made me feel so unworthy at the time. Why would someone do that?
Damn sorry to hear that, yea I couldn't imagine doing that to my ex ever, that's really inconsiderate, especially after you told her that you missed her. You being sad over that is 100% reasonable, I would've felt the same, honestly I would've gotten so frustrated that someone would do that right in my face. Same here! Was in a relationship with my ex for 1.5 yrs. I was ready to move to the next step. He was still grieving after the death of his late wife and I had lost my late bf within 4 months of one another. We didn’t know one another but met on the dating app something we both said we wouldn’t try. As commitment was discussed he said he wasn’t ready to commit and didn’t want to put all his eggs in one basket 😩🙄😢💔…Bf said he wanted to work on himself got on the dating apps in a relationship with someone else 2 weeks after our breakup. I did so much for him and his 3 boys as he was a single widowed father. I am hurt, feel used, and betrayed! Not only am I grieving over him but his boys too! Very hard emotionally for me!

I feel ya on that level tbh. My ex girlfriend been with whole another guy behind my back since somewhere around june until my bestfriend told me she found someone til this very day after she told me she aint looking for a relationship anytime soon but focus on herself since beginning of july. Yet after our break up she wanted me to be her friend still and all, (which I wasn't hundred percent sure about) then I hung out with her one day then her phone notification blew up from this same guy over & over n it feel big fuck you slapped across my face and she knew I had feelings for her still. So, my dumbass ended up messaging her ex later on, then she found out & I made whole entire lie about it even though it was obvious so she got mad at me and hated me. End of day though, I rather say my instincts knew that this was gonna happen and knew that she had someone else other than me in her life, so I did that extra bullshit just so she can purposely hate me and I never talk to her again because I wasnt gonna heal myself if stayed in her life

I did cut contact with him completely so I was able to heal and take care of myself. Do the same and never look back on someone that replaced you in the first place after all the love that you gave to them. Love yourself and love will comes to you.

I was in a relationship in 2018 this girl started out crazy for me. Mad when she couldn't be around me or talk to me falling asleep on the phone etc. Shortly after things started taking a turn for the worse, she started changing playing games not calling not answering my text rapidly, when I ask her whats wrong she beats around the bush and claim to still be hurt by a past relationship. After a spell I just let things go and moved on it hurted like hell. But she moved on least on Facebook she did! Tried to make me jealous about this new dude...yet never wanted to talk about me on social media. He ended up hurting her and ill admit I found joy in it. But to shorten the story to this day almost three years later I haven't gotten over her I tried but can't.
I hate yet love her very much....both very much.

8 years together, she moved on within a month with someone else. There are not words to describe how I’m feeling beyond devastated, crushed, heartbroken, absolutely lost all will to live.

I work with my ex as we broke up in March 2020 we were together 8 years. I love my job and work wise we work well together. I don't want him back. But he has moved on and I really struggle with this I hate him being with someone else. He thinks I should be over it. Its caused a few issues where ive come home from. He knows how I feel and obviously doesn't care. Now he says she may start come to visit him at work. Told everyone except me in the bringing so not to hurt me. Or rub it in my face. I don't know this women. But now wants to through her in my face. Help me get over it please im determine to keep my job. And he's the boss and is not going anywhere either. Well mine bring the girl to show me that’s what he is doing.and then text me a week later that he is leaving to sort his life out.they got married a month in and welcome a baby months later.I was soo devastated.my mental health was drained.am picking up the pieces.seeing the trauma flashes in my head gives me anxiety sometimes . You’re so welcome! Yes, I totally agree that much of these practices or shifts in mindset are easier said than done. We can’t be “talked out of” feeling our pain - it’s important to allow it to exist for as long as it needs to.
Unfortunately there’s not really a simple answer to that question. If you truly love someone new then it doesn’t sound like you are using them! However if you still find yourself extremely triggered by your ex’s actions then I think it’s important to try and understand the root of that.

It hurts so much and I feel used 😞 She pursued me relentlessly. I had my guard up because she got dumped not too long ago after a five-year relationship. I fell for her eventually. But, after our first date, she gave me all sorts of lame excuses about us being incompatible... She was like a switch being turned off suddenly... She went from texting everyday, all day, to not wanting to talk at all.
I went 18 days NC and reached out. We texted one text per day for two weeks before I told her I still had feelings for her and wanted to try again. She broke the news to me, saying she had *just* found someone she really "loves and adores". Less than a month... and she is already in love. She asked to be friends.
Few hours after breaking the news, she posted a picture of herself in her public IG with her new flame. She was still in my private IG... I was so hurt and decided to block her.
I wrote a closure message stating that I love her and cannot be friends with her... Then I said that would be my last text. She never replied. It's been 12 days and I have not tried reaching out. I'm shattered and in pain.
I know how you feel. My ex has moved on 3.5 months after we broke up. It is especially painful as a month before he said that he misses me and wanted to meet up in person, but never scheduled a time for it. We have been together for 10 years and after we broke up he promised that he will not date or be in a relationship for a whole year. After a reached out to him 5 days ago he told me that he is in a new relationship and I said that I still love him just to hear nothing but silence and discomfort (he called after I reached out). I am in so much pain that I haven't been able to eat or sleep since I received this news. This is emotional and mental pain that is on a whole other level. I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had your heart broken. It truly is the worst feeling! I know how painful it is to have your hopes and dreams crushed like that. I think it’s great you wrote a closure text and that you got what you needed to get out. Although I know it’s painful that she didn’t respond, I don’t think there’s anything she could have said that would have made you feel better. I would continue the practice of providing yourself closure! It’s not something another person needs to give you. I find writing letters/journaling to be extremely helpful when it comes to getting your thoughts and feelings out. Hang in there ❤️ sending you lots of love.

I was in a relationship where my ex never really loved and cared for me. It was 85:15 relationship. When she first broke up with me, 2 weeks later, she visited this guy. When we got back together again after like 2 weeks of her visit to the guy, I asked her where she went to, she couldn't tell me, always changing the subject. When she broke up the 2nd time, which totally the last, 2 months later, she travelled again to same location to see the, spent at least 1 good month there.
I was like, why couldn't she tell me that there was someone else?
How could she had moved on so quickly?
I was seeing her post on social media(had to unfollow her to avoid emotional torture), when she was enjoying her trip on flights, something I couldn't do for her (I know I did all I could to make her happy and okay) Perhaps, she takes it that this her new guy is financially ok than me.

it hasn’t even been 2 months since me and my ex of 6 years broke up and he’s already talking to someone new. he’s not in a relationship yet but I’m sure it’s coming soon, either way just the fact that someone else has his attention is breaking me and I can’t take my mind off it.

This brings up an interesting thought as i recently had a Mutual break and we had had many deep conversations talking out all our issues and possible fixes in a calm manner. We both did not want to be alone but at same time was hiding from the underlying truth that we are just not as compatible as we thought we were. After the final come to jesus talk and we just agreed to end things with out any hatred or violence and i dont feel the sorrow that i did when first having the hard conversation. I feel im ready to just start dating again but so many people say give it time. So then i start to question my self am i ready already?

I was one of those people who was commenting on your other videos regarding this topic. Not only did my ex move on super fast after out long-term relationship, she was one of those who talked so much shit to me about how great the new guy is. He's got so many friends, good job, own place, her mom likes him, how much sex they have, that she basically moved in with him (this was 2 weeks after we broke up) etc.....It was absolutely ridiculous. The was the tipping point for me, and I immediately blocked her on everything. Maybe a day or two later she emailed me, saying that she was sorry for everything, and that she wished she was more open to talking to me in person. Completely meaningless email, and I never replied to it. The emotional abuse and lack of respect was so real... with the breakup and all that on top of it, it totally destroyed me. I still think about it sometimes, along with creeping her IG from time to time even though I have her blocked (there's easy ways around it since she made her account public again, probably so I could freely creep it thinking that it would make me feel like shit). When I look at her IG I don't even know who that person is anymore, cause it's not the one I fell in love with.
I just laugh at the pics of her pregnant with this new dude, I'm assuming he hasn't seen all her red flags yet, or is completely oblivious to them like I was for most of our relationship (beta simp mindset at the time)....he has no idea what he's in store for lol. Oh well, not my problem anymore :)
Good for you for blocking her and doing what you need to do to protect your emotional health! I’ll never understand why ex partner’s feel the need to continue to harass someone they supposedly cared about, when they are meant to have moved on. Sounds like you dodged a bullet! My ex was weird because he broke up with me, then after a couple months of no contact. He hit me up wanting to be friends, we'd text sporadically not often, then about 2 months after we begen chatting as friends and following each on our socials again. He one day randomly posts a story of himself and his new boyfriend away on vacation in Mexico, the same place where we had gone on vacation. Needless to say I blocked him and just let it be but why else would he ask me to be his friend? I feel like he set me up so I can purposely witness him moving on happily

Was in a similar situation. I could tell the relationship was strained but I wanted to sit down and talk in hopes of fixing it. Instead she lied to another guy she was getting close to saying we had broken up months before we actually did. She did her test run going out with him for months till she finally decided I guess that it was a fit then broke up with me. Three weeks later they started dating officially.

As someone who moved on faster than I ever expected, i can share some of my perspective.
I was 100% committed to my ex and my relationship. However, earlier this year she had several huge life transitions all coming together which turned her into a very negative person. I tried my best to embrace, understand and be with her but her negativity had already had her best and she just completely lost faith in our relationship. All she talked about was how miserable her life is, how I was not good enough and how our relationship would never work.
I was pretty sure that I wanted to marry her but at some point during that time, all my feelings of dedication, faith and commitment started to fade away. I just couldn't think of myself happy again with her, nor could i think of her being happy with me.
Right before her birthday two weeks ago she lashed out onto me again over a very trivial thing and she mentioned breaking up again. Instead of trying to comfort her like i used to do, i simply accepted it, packed all my stuff and left. And i felt relief like never before.

I hate to admit this, but I was the other person in a situation like this. I loved him, but I was getting very mentally unstable. I often felt like I was projecting my insecurities on him and it didn’t seem fair that I was bringing him down with me. So I let him go and he, like you said just let me.
It’s been a year and a few months. The reality is only hitting me now and I miss him so much. Not having him beside me made me worse. I hurt him and I hurt myself in the process too. He’s now in a relationship and I don’t want to jeopardise what he has now so I thanked him for everything he’s done for me and I asked him to tell me to move on.

My ex and i was already looking for something new while he was still married to me. He divorced me (he’s army by the way)and I was crushed. I’m still crushed because it’s seems that he he’d leave in advance. He got that promotion and left me and my baby girl to survive on crumbs while he’s high on the hog.😢😢😢 it’s been a year since the divorce and I had a moment where I broke down and cried in pain. The relationship was very toxic.

So in September when I found that out, At this time we already moved we’re staying with our own familys quarantining, I told him I was upset I seen his email he left on my computer, I needs Space, A month later he posted on Facebook he was in a new relationship and post a bunch of new pictures knowing my family would see 🙇🏾♂️ I’ve never been more devastated in my whole life! I found out Halloween and can’t stop thinking about 😳🙇🏾♂️ this lockdown Just makes the situation a whole lot harder to deal with!

My ex jumped into another relationship within a week after breaking up. She had been chatting to the guy for months and they became a couple instantly that I was dumped. Now she wants us to be friends or I stay close to her so to provide her support. I do love her but am hurt firstly by her breaking an 11 year old relationship and secondly not even respecting it by staying single for a while so to heal. She keep messaging or calling when am trying to be away and tells me how important I am for her which now seems to be a lie. 😢

Although I of course don’t know your ex or your situation personally, it’s easier for people who have substance abuse issues to associate themselves with people who struggle with the same things. He didn't accept the break up when I offered. We had a suspension period without contact and, I found out that he has moved on with a new girl and publicized her on his SNS, which he has never done it to me before. The new girl looks completely different from me, which makes me wonder if everything he told me about "I just like an authentic and original girl" was just a piece of bad joke. He cheated before but, I gave him another chance to fix it, I am trying to fix it, I even move to his country and bring our pet there to be with him, I cannot take the pet back now because of her health issue, which completely breaks my heart when I think my pet now is close to the new girl.
All I do after finding out that he has moved on is "no contact rule", I blocked everything from him but, that person even used another contact to ask me why I blocked him, I was be like "seriously, why you can ask me this question?"
I feel hurt as hell thinking what I have done to be with him, how much I tried to bring things back together and thinking about our happy moments before..everything now is meaningless to me. I am here, in a strange country, and I have not figured out what I should do next. My feeling is just like a roller coaster, sometimes I think I will be okay, but sometimes I feel very upset, and sometimes I feel empty. I don't know if it's a normal process or not.

i feel like he moved on fast, even tho we only dated long distance for 4 months, it was a so intense love, like a long term relationship would be.
