I'm surprised that K. Rool's Finest Hour wasn't even a runner up. It's genuinely a very fun villain song and the instrumental even sounds like something out of the games!
It's a really good one but I feel like it's just missing one verse to elevate it. Also it competes with Do You Know What This Means as... essentially two different flavors of the same song.
With that said, I'm sure every single K Rool song would make a Top 30, with only maybe Always Be Friends and Wake Up missing out.
Spellbound, No One's Going to Make a Monkey Out of Me, and One of Us are better K Rool songs anyway.
It's weird we never see Leo Luster and Bluster Kong in the same room. Maybe the writers just thought they wouldn't have any on-screen chemistry.

I would be more mad that “Our Love is Stronger than a Golden Banana” (and just. more Candy songs in general) didn’t make the cut, but your number 1 choice is just so perfect that I can’t be. You’re absolutely right and you Should say it
Candy songs all fit about in my 25-ish range. She's got a great voice, but a lot of them end before they really get a chance to get started, or are duets with DK where he's not going for it nearly as much as she is. Really strong singing voice, but I'm a sucker for a lot of the up-beat ones and wanted a variety in tonality.
I was starting to get worried you weren't going to talk about the single best piece of Donkey Kong media. You cut it close with how deep into December we are, but my mind is now at ease.
No Pirate's Scorn? How dare you call this a top 10 list without the greatest song from the whole show :p
This show makes me proud to be Canadian. Also recently learned a family member of mine is close friends with DK’a singing voice, so that’s cool too!
If any of you haven’t seen that sick animated music video for Pirate’s Scorn, you need to do that right stat now.
Unironically love this show to bits and can sing along to every single one of the songs, so I'm happy to see someone talk about its good parts!
Also love Alestorm and when I first found out they covered Pirate's Scorn it was as if the stars aligned. Check out the awesome fanmade video too, the guy who made it later went and made an official video for the band!

My personal favorites are King K. Rool’s Finest Hour because it was EVERYWHERE on social media when K. Rool got revealed for Smash and it’s easily my favorite K. Rool song in the whole show, I’m Gonna Be a Star because it’s legit a bop and a half, The Mirror Never Lies because of the amazing cover by Siivagunner for King for Another Day and Pirate’s Scorn because of the fact that it got covered by ALESTORM and that cover even got an animated music video to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the cartoon and the 40th Anniversary of the Donkey Kong series
I would honestly love a Donkey Kong Game with these voice actors. Bring Bluster in the series again!

I love that all the comments are just about songs they wish made the cut. Which honestly is fair, so many songs are worth mentioning, be it for surprising quality or even just novelty.
The top 30 songs are all bangers. And the Top 50 are all probably good without irony, which is just plain impressive.
Fun fact: The VA for DK was in OK KO and he also sang Zoobomafoo.
The guy singing as DK is also the singer who does the intro for Zaboomafu

I audibly screamed when I heard eddie send me back to my home got #1. I grew increasingly worried it wouldn't even place at all. But, relief and pure joy flooded through me to hear it get the recognition it deserves as a masterpiece.
Grab yourself a snack and a glass of orange juice and try not to reach through the screen because HERE WE GO!!!
i've only heard a limited amount of the songs but Metal Head always was a bop to me even with Diddy involved (though the edit that removes his lines is better depending on my mood)
I can't believe "All I Want" didn't get a mention. Not only does it have the same singers as "Be Bad", but it has BLUSTER!!! Plus those last ten or so seconds are iconic.

Just Cranky trying to do some tap dancing off beat to some xylophone, to the buildup of piano as he goes inside, then bursting out the door with "AH'M GONNA BE A STAH!" and the ensuing lyrics of stupid nonsense up until the others pick up the song is the peak of the series, dk has a great singing voice, but its one of the few songs i want more of the ones who cant sing as good as him to keep going. Though the most genuine bop was the top spot which makes me happy

YES THANK YOU for recognizing the brilliance of Eddie, Let Me Go Back To My Home 🙉 it's my #1 for sure! The Big Chill Out is probably my favorite episode of the cartoon, so I was glad to see Road to Success here as well. Somehow, I didn't know about the Alestorm cover of Pirate's Scorn so I'm glad I watched this--their newest album is even called Curse of the Crystal Coconut!
If Leo Luster doesn't make top spot I will riot.

Making these songs all the more impressive is that the show was originally French! So all of these songs (and the lip synching) were originally in French, and were translated to English!
Another fun fact: It was a French/Canadian joint production (Not French-Canadian, but studios in France + Canada), and the English version was voice acted by Canadians!
The DKC TV show despite its weird animation, honestly is a fun time to go through, it wasn’t high art, but it was honestly more faithful to the games than other video game cartoons (Looking at you Kirby..) , I think almost every character is portrayed both by voice and in character (Like the Klump appreciation in this, dudes underrated in this show) honestly my biggest complaint with the show is Candy Kong, I mean she wasn’t too much of a character in the games mostly being just eye candy and pretty much being the worst character of the family personality wise (Tiny probably being second due to being diet Dixie) but man they made her well a horrible girlfriend for DK, to be fair DK isn’t perfect.. but she definitely overreacts about him sometimes. I feel Candy (if she had more of a character) would be much more of the person that balances DK out, not someone who gets upset at the smallest things his boyfriend does.. or he’s just in the same room as the incident with for some reason.

Honestly I like the Kirby one because of it being such a different thing compared to the games. I imagine it would've struggled heavily had there not been major creative liberties taken. Sure some characters flopped and didn't work, but others worked better than I would've thought.
It also has the "best" dubbing of any 4Kids show aside from maybe Yugioh GX (and no I will not be swayed on this).
@@colossaldonut5190 That’s fair, I think a Kirby anime focusing on the games wouldn’t be too bad, especially since Super Star basically plays out like a season of a show, with each sub game being an individual episode or Arc, I definitely think the biggest issue is the portrayals of the main trio, (Kirby being a mindless baby, Dedede being a villainous jerk, and Meta Knight not being even a little unhinged.) Idk it just doesn’t feel like Kirby when your main characters feel off.
I feel like they felt like they had to make Candy an empowered woman to counter the fact that she’s literally just “eye candy” (like her name) in the original games and they wanted her to feel more relevant since she’s the only major female character besides Dixie in the show

"I'll be a superstar" is really catchy. Yes, Diddy and "Bubbles" can't sing but it just feels awesome. I only watched the german version of episode 3 so I missed a lot of these songs. It likely wouldn't be on the top of the list but I prefer this one.
And the song that tells about the sickness where they get vaccinated is also good in my opinion. But it's been a while since I watched the show.
You know, the songs are what actually made me realize there WAS a Donkey Kong cartoon. The first one I heard was Big Bog Monster way back when (I wanna say the late 00s). It doesn't compare as well as these songs though.
Also, what a coincidence the song that got stuck in my head today is also at the number 1 spot of all the other songs I've never heard. Well okay, I've heard like 3 of these other songs before.

Man, where did this even play growing up? The songs were so incredible but I don't remember seeing it on the TV ever.
Well it was a Canadian cartoon like all early 3D shows, so it probably was cause for limited viewing on only a few non-domestic channels, like Reboot

But Bluster is an ape. The only monkey in the entire show is Diddy, even then, his creators describe him as a "Chimpney". But, Diddy has a tail, so monkey it is.
Surprised Diddy Drop Rap was as low as it was, but I that speaks to the quality of everything above. Also really glad to see Road to Success there, that's been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it when I watched through the whole show a couple years back (and I wouldn't have it any other way).
