Great overview! Fantagraphics are the best, and loving all the reprints of old material they are doing, and all the foreign artist they keep translating and publishing.
Dispatches sounds interesting, not a magazine I know but it looks great. Nix also sounds interesting. Pre-ordered Girl comics but will also get the Lost Marvels 2
@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews Yea! This was quite the loaded catalog. Some new comics as well as the classic reprints like the great Atlas line you and I both love!
Arsène Schrauwen is on my shortlist of greatest comic books of the 2010s. Was easily my favorite Schrauwen work until he released Sunday, which might have taken over. But either way, Olivier Schrauwen is easily one of the best cartoonists working today. This catalog might be one of the most stacked ones from Fanta yet. Their collection grows ever more diverse between the strips, manga reprints/translations, BD and modern comics.
Tyler, do you have the Prince Valiant set? Really top notch adventure strip with maybe the longest run of consistently great artists of any newspaper strip. Hal Foster to John Cullen Murphy to Garry Gianni to Thomas Yeates. There’s even some Wally Wood ghosting. UK publisher Illustrators is releasing a special focused on the Print Valiant artists later this year.
Thanks for doing this video. I am definitely getting both of the Atlas books and the Lost Marvels book. Really happy that Fantagraphics is printing these. Still on the fence about starting to collect Peanuts, Disney,, Love and Rockets, Prince Valiant, and Nancy since I don't have a lot of shelf space.
@@ps2gamingforever364 You’re welcome! And thanks for watching! My recommendation for those series is to pick up any of the “greatest hits” type collections they may have to start with and sample. And if you love it, then dive into the rest!
Jesus. Thank God they’re finally putting out Donald Duck by Barks vol. 1. I am a psycho so I’ve been collecting them this whole time but haven’t read any of them because I want to start with #1. What has it even been? Like 15 years? And Arsene Schrauwen is a little odd but totally worth checking out.
@@essaywhu 14 years by the way volume 1 gets released! And that’s funny. I used to be stringent about reading things chronologically like that. But, I’ve broken from that need and have allowed myself to read comic runs out of order. I’m definitely going to check out Arsene Schrauwen! Describing it as “odd” isn’t a deterrent for me! It makes me more intrigued! Haha I love weird comics
@ to be honest I can’t even think of something to compare it to. It’s completely original. It’s a mini-biography of his grandfather at his age but there are so many absurd situations that are less “haha funny” and more “is this guy mentally challenged or something?” It’s an odd way to present a family member to the world. I’m sure his family either hates the book or are completely confused by it. Off topic but have you ever read Prince of Cats by Ronald Winberly? It’s one of my favorite graphic novels of all time and I think it’s something you would probably dig.
@@TEJUS_667 oh! They weren’t?! I thought they were. It says it collects the strips from 1949-1950. So, they might not release them chronologically, but maybe they’re complete? I’m not sure.
Looking forward to that Epic Mickey collection!
The games look fun! I’ve never played them before. But. Peter David writing these has me intrigued.
@@TaylorTalksComics Never would have imagined PAD writing about Epic Mickey. haha. Wild!

I hope they get Complete Neat Stuff back in print. I'd prefer Hardcover, but I'd settle for softcover if that was the only option.
