Looking forward to watching the video. One of my favorite comicbook creators. And a lot of his humor comics shows up in various 1940s/50s titles. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I read an old comic digitally and there's a Wolverton strip. So cool.
Back in the eighties, I was super happy to pick up Basil Wolverton's Planet of Terror and Basil Wolverton's Gateway to Horror from Dark Horse and Wolverton special Mr. Monster's Weird Tales of the Future from Eclipse. I love his fifties sci fi and horror. He seemed like such a singular talent, though I have since realized he overlaps--in places--with artists like Fletcher Hanks, Dick Briefer, Bill Everett and Joe Maneely. Forgotten Archie comic Super Duck by Al Fagaly shows some Wolverton grotesqurie touches, too.
Yea! I used to own a copy of the Dark Horse collecting of Spacehawk strips. I sold it when I finally tracked down a copy of the Fantagraphics collection. And I agree! I love his horror and sci-fi. He had such a unique take on those genres.
@@bizarrebraincomics7819 Yes! He was a major influence on all the pioneers of the underground comix scene! I think you can find the Powerhouse Pepper for fairly cheap.
Love Basil Wolverton! I don't have ALL these books (yet), but i feel like even all these dont collect all his work. Like his DC/Marvel stuff. My introduction to Wolverton was when I bought some Plop! issues a few years ago.

@@JeffJak thank you!
And I agree! Whenever Wolverton pops up anywhere, it’s a treat! I’m glad his works have finally been collected!
Thanks for this. I added a bunch of these to my Amazon wish list. Just in time for the holidays! 😁
@@reddykilowatt awesome! I hope you enjoy them!
Basil Wolverton’s fan here! Wonderful books there, with one missing - The Basil Wolverton Bible. And the elusive and expensive Weird Worlds from IDW

Big fan of Wolverton. I'd like to get that Powerhouse Pepper! He was a big influence on R. Crumb.

@@HarveyPekarsGhost oh yea, this definitely isn’t everything! I can only hope more Wolverton collections will come out in the future!
Always heard the name, but never knew him. Of course the one I'm interested in is sold out haha
@@Josh_Greathouse Haha which one is that?
@TaylorTalksComics that last one
@ ah, yes. That one was OOP/HTF when I got my copy. I got lucky. Had to pay a little over cover though.
Yeah, I was considering Brain Bats..., OOP too... Great looking books, like usually from FB.
@ Hopefully they’ll bring them back to print!
