Psyching out your opponent is just as much a part of PVP as the actual 'mons. If your opponent can't think straight for any reason, you have an advantage. To me, trash talk is just part of the game. To me, that banter is part of the fun. If one of us is getting toxic, clearly the other guy is doing something right. Therefore, I take trash talk like that as a compliment. If my opponent _does_ take it personally, however, I stop. As much fun as winning is, that's not the point of a game. The point of a game is to _have fun,_ and the point of a multiplayer game is for _everyone_ to have fun. If my trash-talking style makes the opponent not have fun, then I don't trash-talk that particular opponent. I think this is reinforced by the good spirits he showed for the remainder of the match. He was expressing his distaste for stall, but had to add the joking tag because the light voice tone and smile he would use IRL can't be conveyed by text. Just my two cents.

Is the equivalent to a Shounen Protagonist fighting a Rival and that Rival having been learning about your fighting technique. Though, you had an ace up your sleeve and when the battle unfolds and you pull it out. they go, "MASAKA!!!" Very fun video. It's also always a welcome treat when the opponent is a good sport.
