  • This video was made end of June this year upon my visit to the largest Rosarium in Germany. Sangerhausen city is located in the hilly side of Saxon Anhal, it is also called city of roses. This is now my third visit and I enjoyed every moment of it. This episode show only the scented garden of this vast park which houses 80, 000 rose bushes excluding the rare collections of tree and bush species.
If you would like to see pictures of my garden and roses you can find me on TikTok & Facebook , just search for rosegardengems.

Hallo Linda! I did enjoy it with my son, he likes scent from different perfumes so I suggested to experience the scent of the roses. A lovely Sunday to you!❤️🌹

What a great place to visit Gemma. I never tire of seeing roses. I am very excited as I am going to David Austin's in Shropshire when we are on holiday next week. I keep writing down the roses that I want to buy but my list is getting longer!

@@rosegardengems Hello Gemma, I hope that you are okay. Our trip to David Austin's was wonderful with still lots of colour to see. It wasn't really the best time of the year to go as a lot of the ramblers had finished and there was plenty of deadheading to be done but we almost had the place to ourselves. I've been re- watching a video on Paul T's World and I could see what things were like when the roses were at their best. It was so hard narrowing down my list of "wants" as you can imagine! I came away with Ancient Mariner, Emily Bronte (which smells lovely and I can't understand why I've not bought her before), Harlow Carr and Tottering by Gently. The car was pretty full going home as amongst the roses we had all of our luggage and I'd also bought A Bill Mckenzie Clematis from the garden centre which was by our holiday cottage. I would definitely return to David Austin's if I get the opportunity and I forgot to mention that the staff were really helpful when I asked them about Linda's (Soulgirlktf) Elizabeth rose as it had produced two different coloured blooms. Take care Gemma. x

Cool Lin, Kevin is 26, I do enjoy spending time with my son and they do know my likes, roses, gardens, castles and big city travels. I’m happy they’re understanding with my hobbies. A lovely Sunday to you!❤️🌹

Thank you very much Gemma for taking us to this garden, particularly the Duftgarten! ❤🙏And the icing on the cake: you featured my favourite rose Alec's Red!! This rose rarely gets a mention nowadays. She has the most wonderful fragrance, definitely reminiscent of lychees, the plumpest, juiciest and near seedless variety! Heavenly! So now I must try to have a sniff of rose Fragonard. Sorry I don't understand German, what did your son say about Fragonard and Alec's Red? Thank you!

Hello! Thanks for your visit and lovely comment. Alec’s Red rose is not only heavily scented but stunning with its shape. My son said, it is also very good but he finds Fragonard scent a level higher. I’m planning to get Fragonard rose too! A lovely Sunday to you!🌹
