Hello Guys this is a video to Change your Default Music Player on Windows 10
In this video I'm going to show you step by step how you can change your default music player in windows 10 for the one that you like. In case you're not happy with Groove Music Player.
This is an easy tutorial you can follow up, so don't be shy and take a look to it.

Thank you. The 3rd option worked for me because I didn't know to click on Groove in order to get back Windows Media Player. The stupid Win10 update changed my player to Grove without my permission. I subbed in gratitude.

Wow -you saved my life! I needed Media Player so I could slow down my practice Violin files, and that little Groove circle that kept moving around my screen was driving me nuts and I couldn't figure out how to slow anything down. I had to add one more step, though, because nothing played at all, at first. I found a new window that popped up under all the others I had open, like a download window, it asked me about installing standard or advanced, which I took care of. After that, I am golden! Thanks so much!!!!

Hi Dave. Any clue why on Win 10 and 11, downloaded and converted to mp3 files cannot be played after they are copied on USB or SD card ? They work only on the laptop/windows.

Hello Natalia, I saw that problem with some USB sticks when the format is not set to FAT32, you can try to format the drive , that might fix the issue . Below is a link with the steps on how to do so: www.lifewire.com/format-usb-drive-in-fat32-on-windows-10-5113286 . Also check that when the songs are in the USB the extension is correct and didn't change. Good luck!
@@DaveGiaco thanks. Tried that, but no. The thing is that there is no Fat32 as an option. Just exFat or NTFS. But the problem is on any USB or SD card. This is really pissing me off :)))
All the properties are same with older mp3 files which work ok playing from USB. The change is having Win 11 🙄 I am using the same site for converting youtube vids to mp3, so no change in this either. Just the OS is new.
@@nataliaionescu9125 oh ok, you upgraded to Windows 11 your PC , well the new operating systems usually have a lot of bugs at first. Well if the files are OK then check the default programs to see what is using to reproduce those files, maybe the program is not compatible now. And just as a test try another music extension, instead of mp3 , just to see if you get different results

How did you put a Background picture in the groove music?
Well it took it automatically for the songs that I already had a album picture in them. Those were songs I had in iTunes . In iTunes you can manually put a picture and sometimes if you put the correct album it will find a picture for the album.

ive done this and when i try to change it to windows media player, the settings app just closes and doesnt change it still stays at groove music wth -.-
Well did you reach to the part of actually changing the default music player?, Where you able to change it ? . You should be able to change it there .
I want to use Amazon Music as default music player, in place of Groove. But it isn't in the tiny list of options, and windows won't let me choose it. How do i make it let me choose? Did windows just take all the control away in windows ten? this is very disappointing.
Well did you try to look for the app in the store ?. That's the last option in the menu when you're changing the settings (Check my video for reference). You could try that, good luck!
Yes, i was able to navigate to it in the store, and download it, but *not* then set it as the default app. It's not like the old feature to navigate to the .exe file, you can download any app, but not then set it as a default unless it's keyed somehow to be a default app in that category.
Similarly, I tried to set MPC-HC Music Player as my default player, it fixed Window Media Player as the default player instead of MPC-HC. It doesn't work at all. Hopefully somebody gives us a hint on this..

i downloaded a song with (idm) but its as ( vlc )and i cant play ot with groove music

I understand , what's the format of the song you downloaded? I can recommend you what format you need to be able to reproduce it in groove music

I click on the icon that say's (do you want to download this video ?)
That's not a normal RUclips function. That's because you are using the IDM . When you click that download option what format do you usually save it ? . (Right click on the video you downloaded, in there you can see as well).You can try with a video converter and change it to .MP3 for example , if you only want to listen to the music .

Ok , well in that case you were able to reproduce MP4 files in groove before?. You can try to close the application completely from task manager ( crtl + shift + ESC). Another option is to download the video again in case the file is corrupted. But I strongly suggest you to use VLC to watch MP4 files .
