As a garage door service tech for 20yrs .this is a great idea looks great. But adding any kind of extra weight to your door. can cause issues with your door ,and opener.if you are going to add any thing to your doors such as this product,or add insulation. I highly recommend have a reputable door company in your area come and service your doors and openers. To make sure your springs that lift the door can handle the extra weight. most of the time you will need to put bigger springs on your doors to carry the extra weight. The springs need calculated for the total weight of the door.
@@Vieweratlargemost people don't pay attention to the details like that. Even a gallon of paint adds 10 pounds to the door. Or door insulation. And that can mess up a garage door opener. The newer openers won't over strain themselves, but older ones will burn out the motor or snap the belt drive. Most homeowners have no idea how delicate that balance is. And never, and I do mean seriously, never try to adjust those springs yourself. You can be killed when one breaks.
@Vieweratlarge except just adjusting the springs is not the correct way to go about it. Weight determines not only the length of the spring but also the coil size. So just adding some turns is not how it should be done. Was that addressed in the video too?

Maybe a "FRACTION" of the price versus replacing the doors with actual WOOD, sure, but for literally less than *$50* or so (just two small cans for all those doors?), you could apply GEL stain to get the same look. Granted, there's more TIME involved, but w/o question, the look can be replicated w/o spending the THOUSANDS on this product here.
What a beautiful transformation! I immediately went outside and started measuring my garage door. I would need the smallest double door. So, for me the price was $2300 plus the hardware package. Love. Now you need some wood like that elsewhere on the exterior, to tie it in nicely. Maybe you already have it on a deck or porch, or could add some shutters? Just an idea.

Hi Anita! Thank you so much. They have been field and lab tested for up to 10 years in areas with lots of sun and they have held up well according to those tests. You do get a touch up bottle of stain with your order, should you need it. They also sell stains should you ever have to restain in the future. Hello, We did exactly that and explained this in the video. We had our tortion springs adjusted to account for the extra weight.

I would have spray painted the top and bottom edges of each panel first. That way when the door is opening or closing you don’t see white lines.

Each panel is 2-3 pounds. Steph does a wonderful job addressing weight and existing mechanism inspection in her video!
