Even my metalhead friends don't understand why I love this band as much as I do. Mamaleek has been the background music for every dark, lonely day I've ever had: Enduring poverty, living in a sick and broken culture, lost in psychic liminal space and desperately trying to keep your soul intact. How you can turn so much ugliness and pain into something this beautiful is beyond me.
i've never been homeless but it's been a very real possibility in my life at times and i know what it's like to not have a good, stable place to live and how that makes everything else so much harder to deal with, and i got into a bit of a social media fight the other day with some wealthier people who were oh-so concerned about landlords dealing with squatters. for them homelessness was this abstracted, remote thing and i could not explain to them how worlds-tiniest-violin any landlord's concern is compared to not having a roof over your head. it's so refreshing to see someone hold a mirror up to this profoundly broken culture, both to expose the darkness and injustice of it and to show the quiet dignity people possess even when nearly everything has been taken from them. cannot wait for this album, i love everything mamaleek touch, even though i can't listen to them super often as they're just so emotionally affecting.
Diner Coffee has grown to be one of my favorite albums. Easily surpassing Come And See as my favorite work of theirs. And I hold CAS in high esteem. I can only hope that Vida Blue does the same.
The rising and falling motif that plays in the background of this song has been stuck in my head ever since this came out. It’s such a simple line, and yet so haunting.
What a great track! Will you laugh if I say I cried at the end of the music video? It's so raw, so haunting, so chilling and enraging, yet so beautiful and moving! The visuals phenomenal, the story visceral and deep with the emotions of inequality, loss and acceptance. Can't wait for August!
I guess the loss of Eric was a huge scar to the band but even without him the results were and are stunning. I witnessed them live in Roadburn last year. They had left an empty chair to his honour in the corner of the stage.. i love this band.. Long live Mamaleek ruclips.net/video/D_qFn5sFJN0/видео.html
Познакомился с группой с прошлого альбома и сначала показалось что дерьмо, а после следующих переслушиваний понял, что это очень круто. Новый трек очень расслабляющий

I'm speechless, this song got my tearing up, I love your music, it all sounds so natural yet so unique.
I cannot understand how this band does not get more recognition. They have such a unique sound and style. They are truly something special
Much as I love them for that exact reason, that's the problem.
long live mamaleek

Baseball and Mamaleek was not on my 2024 bingo card. Stunning track and super stocked for the new record!
Baseball like the sport or is it some kind of band i should check out?
@kwnwps the sport lol, the album is named after a player in the 70s and the art is a baseball. Interesting story from their announcement!

My eternal love…
The residents brought me here. No that’s a lie. Homeless residence is more of a presence of honesty.
