    Thank you Armin, this is an excellent video.
    I'll be using it as required viewing for my students who want to jump higher.
    Improving technique increases the average rider's jump height, and makes softer landings, but having the best tool for the job means adding a foil kite to the advanced rider's quiver.
    Head to head the foil out jumps the tubes for height, distance and soft landings.
    And this especially evident in 15 -25 knots which is what most kiters get at their home spot.
    Only a few of us get to spend the winter in 40+ every day.

    This is the most in-depth video from any kite maker about a new kite. Flysurfer kites are the best I have ever flown. I have a 19m Speed 3 Deluxe that I am only just now in 2022 retiring, and I am replacing it with a 15m Sonic V3. I can't wait to fly it. I have the kite in the bag right now and I am just waiting for my next kite trip. I can tell that the fit and finish is even better now than it used to be. Thank you for the wonderful video Armin!

    So coming from and enjoying sonic2R .... Seems the VMG2 is what I would love? I believe Soul's are lovely kites, but dont want to go anywhere near anything so 'friendly'. I want unfriendly and spicy, seems sonic3 wind range marked on spec sheet, suggests friendly kite.. vmg2 more to what im used to with sonic2R..

      Sonic 3 is a lot closer to Sonic 2 for sure. Sonic 3 is very close in Performance to VMG, but more user friendly like for example to relaunch from the water. VMG is a pure race machine

    I love Armin’s videos . Very easy and friendly to understand. I still have the first Sonic FR 15m. Are there PMA adjusters in it or only in the Sonic 3? Keep doing videos and more actual videos of yourself kiting Armin! Ole

    Hi Armin, I've been enjoying my Soul 12m very much for over a year now and was considering shifting to the Sonic. 20% of my sessions are on a race foil and the rest doing some old-school freestyle with a twintip in light winds ranging from 11 to 24knts. The Soul 12m is the perfect size for my 60kg on the twintip and it gives me massive hangtime even in 12knts but I find myself over-powered on the foil most of the time, even with shorter lines. I know the Sonic 11m would be perfect for foiling but I'm wondering if the 13m wouldn't be better for twintip? What would you recommend me; 11 or 13m?

    • @ArminHarich
      @ArminHarich  3 года назад +1

      Only 1 Kite is always a compromise. I think, 11 is what you will prefer, if you don't have in mind to twinttip in too light wind.

      @@ArminHarich thank you for your reply, that's what I had in mind. The Soul 12m was the perfect size for most conditions. Do you think I'll need a little bit more wind to get going on a twintip with the Sonic 11m?

    Thank you Armin!
    Got one question: can you do a power loop to waterstart with the Sonic 3?
    I ve got a Soul Quiver and a Sonic Race quiver and I find it easier to start in marginal conditions with the Soul due to the power it generates though looping, and I cant do that on my Sonic Race Kites, as they loose power when you force turn them.

    • @ArminHarich
      @ArminHarich  4 года назад +2

      Yes, I know what you mean. The Sonic 3 combines good the best of both worlds. You get better going with it than both if you have the skills. The SOUL is more easy to get the Power. But the Sonic 3 has more power peaks but is a lot more easy than the Race to be able to use it especially if you loop it.

      Thank you. Sonic FR should have PMA too, if I remember it right.

    Great video again ! Thanks. I have just bought a perfect quiver of 9/13/18 Sonics for foil racing. Do you advise a normal roll pack up like the Souls or should the Sonics be packed up concertina style ? Thanks

    • @ArminHarich
      @ArminHarich  4 года назад +1

      Ben Maslen you can pack it up in any way. The Ridged foils are so elastic, that you can not deform them. Only the VMG 2 need Sprachlabor packing because of the additional stiff rodes there.

    I ride the 13 for a long time now. Super user friendly kite, I still hardly believe what it can do. I have extensive experience with the Sonic 2 and I've gotten very good with the strings when things got messy, but still I had a lot of fatal failures and had to swim to shore. This beast gets out of every problematic tangle. But I still don't get the purpose of those PMA's - they are mentioned very sketchy in the guide. How changes in the profile change the characteristics of the wing?

    • @ArminHarich
      @ArminHarich  4 года назад

      PMA is expert only, but powerful if everything is checked but the kite still fly strange, I am working on more explanations for our dealers.

    I still have a Standard Speed3 12m... and it is flying well... the thicker fabric on this kite is really robust.

    • @ArminHarich
      @ArminHarich  3 года назад

      Nice. Yes, thick fabric is robust against abrasion. But the new X-Light is a lot more rubust against UV-Light and a lot lighter.
