- British Reggae Group, Musical Youth emerged on the scene in 1982 with the biggest song of the year and quickly became global superstars. Within three years they were penniless and the group has disbanded.
Their story is the ultimate example of mismanagement of young artistes in the entertainment business and a reminder of the need for greater care to be taken of performers who are yet to attain adulthood.
I really appreciate these reggae history videos. Man, I wish the two who passed coulda lived to see the justice.
Loved them in USA in the 80s. Such a fun energetic sound. But their demise is truly a sad story of greed and exploitation of innocent and talented yout. Thanks for the vid
Divine justice on all who exploited them...this is heartbreaking. I cannot articulate how LOVED "Pass The Dutchie" was/is across Africa for anyone alive to hear music in the 80s. "Unconditional Love" w/ the late, great Donna Summer was their other song deep in my heart. 💃🏿❤💛💚🖤
@@loveheals6184 They deserved so much better but life happened to them 💔
@@ReggaeAppreciationSocietyhonestly 😢🥺 I knew they went broke, but not these tragedies. Give thanks for the work you do and how it honours and protects legacies. Abundant blessings, health, love, good vibes and longevity to you and yours. ❤💛💚🖤
Blessed love sis I second your calling for divine justice. And it will, if not has happened. It's so sad, but I am not surprised.
@@MsWildberry1 Guidance, Sister-Queen. Glad to see you. Give thanks for your affirmation/confirmation.
I remember this group and that classic Pass the Dutchie song as a very young little girl. TV One Unsung did an episode on this group a few years ago. Sad ending to a talented buch of young boys.
Much Apprecialove to RAS who continues to educate us re Reggae history. So much respect ❤️💛💚🖤
@@MsWildberry1 Blessings mi sistren ✌️❤️💛💚

🎵🎵I'm sixteen 🎵🎵 that's my favourite jam right there by musical youths...
Outstanding! Much appreciated!
The group was also very popular in Nigeria, especially with the Pass the dutchie video. The different style album, also received massive airtime on the radio. Tracks like 007, watcha talking about, Air Taxi & No strings were well played.
👋wow, what a story and sad ending for some of the band members. TFS 👏👏great research and video ❤
@@dailypolishme Blessings ✌️ Thanks for watching

@@tb22k Mi lioness ☺️ Big up yourself ❤️💛💚
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety😊😊
Their Rapid Ascension and International Popularity was unlikely to be Equaled more than the once and everyone involved should have known and prepared for that eventuallity.
Cool video... didn't they tour with Jackie Mittoo?
Leroy Sibbles talks about that bass line he invented at his shows.
Can you please do a Sizzla Kalonji vs Buju Banton pros and cons of both artists in like a head to head style documentary?
@@jonathanbarnes7641 Great suggestion 👍 Thanks
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety I think these two reggae artists in particular are the most influential Rastafarian artists currently and I always hear people debate who is better and more influential. I would love to hear your take on it in a video from and see the reaction and comments of people on this channel since they are so well informed and invested in the reggae genre of music in particular!
I can't believe this... 😬😳
Please do a special on that white selector John Peele never heard of him before thanks much appreciated!
@@jonathanbarnes7641 Yes I 👍 John Peele's video is in the works
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety thanks much appreciated!
@@ReggaeAppreciationSocietyMmm🤔mm.
John Peele did a lot for bands from Zimbabwe as well like the Bundu Boys who ended up supporting Madonna at Wembley
You have to hire accountants to watch the other accountants, lawyers to keep watch of the other lawyers and keep track of your money. But the band were only kids and didn't know.
Truth
1982??
Bass player got on the crack in Negril on their first visit to Jamaica
Wow 😳 Very revealing
Love pass the dutchie.
Living in a world of corruption; how much longer can we last...🩸🌞💚
