I just bought one from J&J Power sports in Millbrook Al. 5 miles on it.. It is awesome!! Great power strong running.. we have about 25 miles on it now.. this thing has a tremendously smooth ride.. can't say enough about it.. love it! Very affordable and comes with a lot of extras.. head lights are so cool.. the seating is great , very comfortable with a feel of bucket seats.. get one! You will not be disappointed..
I used your videos to make to Plunge for a Used Coleman Outfitter 550 and have to admit its one heck of a capable machine that is also fun. I found a few loose nuts/bolts and a fuels line that had just split, other then replacing Screws for Half Doors I love it and its simple enough for Wife to hop right in and not feel like its a Boys toy. @@JoeTheFarmer We just did oil changed spark plug and discovered a Mouse or squirrel has been busy, So we are going over all wiring before run it any significant time to insure wiring is not compromised. But agree, the more we work on it the more we discover about it and its going to fill a Need on our 40 acre tree farm
While i like how Tractor Supply and Rural King offer these machines, the issue we have (in Florida at least), is how no one wants to service or repair these machines when they break down. Most shops will only service the big name brands due to service manual availability and parts availability. We have a Hisun sector 550 and we have SUCH a hard time finding anyone to work on it for us. Last time it broke down we had to take it to a shop 3 hours away to get some electrical work done. Not saying the Bighorn is a bad machine, I'm sure it's great. But i have learned the hard way that spending more for a big name brand might pay off when you need to find a repair shop, and most are 15-30 minutes away and will have parts, technical manuals, and technicians who are experienced with the design.
Hey! I don’t disagree. It is absolutely a challenge. Truth is about 600k atvs/sxs’s are sold every year and there just isn’t the manpower to service them all. Heck, getting my truck serviced is a headache! I am pretty handy so I service them myself but for major issues it is good to know who will take care of you when problems happen. Btw, we have a sector 550 also. I absolutely love that machine. It is built like a brick. Appreciate you watching!
@@JoeTheFarmer I definitely enjoy our sector 550. While using the winch one day, the electrical system overloaded and fried most of the wiring, the winch motor, the battery, seliniod and starter. It was under warranty, and we got it fixed. There are 2 shops in Florida that do hisun warranty work!! 😳 Got it fixed, and it runs fine now. When I need to replace, I may go with polaris or Honda. Not sure though.

The Hisun, BigHorn, etc are all built to high standards...but let's face it; they are value machines. I still stand by the fact that I can buy two BigHorns for the price of one loaded Polaris. Okay, I might be a little jealous of the dual cup holders, which our Coleman 550 doesn't have. We finally got moved out to our ranch a week ago. So what do we do for entertainment? We go joyriding through the creek at night with our 4x4!

@@JoeTheFarmer I bought in 2015 for about $9000. Was nearly new at 127 miles and negligible hours. It now has about 7k miles on it. Issues are more about my lack of maintenance than any longevity concerns. Needs brakes and general upkeep like driveline and normal wear issues. Overall has been a great machine
That’s awesome man. They are great machines and the extra power would be nice. But these new engines are tuned so high that they get more out of less if that makes sense. Glad it’s treated you well!

Just curious ,what is the actual wheel base front to back and left to right with the stock tires that came on it. Seeing if it would fit on my trailer, what is the factory weight as listed, you are correct there is no info on any of these machines any where, I am very interested in purchasing a UTV side by side ,and most are crazy $ out of my league , so I would like any information possible, I just turned 61 and I think I could update from my still in perfect condition 1999 Polaris 300 xplorer the starts with 1 tap of the start button. Just looking for a decent little UTV. For giving the grandkids a ride .
Hey! I don’t have the exact dimensions but it fit easily on my 6x12 single axle trailer. Would fit on a 6x10 too. Sounds like that old Polaris was a good soldier. This machine is nice; but has its quirks. I’ll do a follow up video soon!

What is your concern? Each manufacturer has multiple service centers. Have you looked into them? On a side note; I have never needed to call a service center and I have a lot of these machines.

I have a Bighorn 400 less than two months old that won't crank. I'm thinking ignition switch or other wiring problem. Multiple calls for service has been made but nobody is returning my calls. Any suggestions?

Big concern with the metal fuel tank corrosion from moisture. I just replaced a generators fuel tank last week, it was only 18 months old and had tons of flaking corrosion in it. But other than that it looks like a great machine for the farm. I could definitely put one to use on my ranch.
My problem with a lot of no name brands is parts availability. You can go to any dealer or big atv parts stores for yamaha, Honda, or any other big brands. Your knock off brands good luck finding parts.
I think that is a fair concern; but they just make SO many of them. Same/similar machines under different brands. Never had any issues with parts…but service in some areas could be a challenge. Thanks for watching!

I work on them brother. They are pretty simple, unless something major goes wrong. As far as service; I have Honda’s and Kawasaki’s that never see a service dept. Part of owning equipment i guess and I enjoy doing it. 😁👍🏼
I just Hope they don't start going ( crazy )- with all the electronic crap ! I seen they have a model with the touch screen and other crap. I don't want that, keep it simple, build it strong, some convenances but skip most of the electronic garbage that they are putting on everything even your exercise equipment and the hand shovels ect,,. silly crap. we go to the country and woods to get away from their electronic crap !

Haven’t checked that yet but they are adjustable. Wouldn’t suspect it would need to be adjusted for a while.

Battery? With this heat it can kill a battery fast. Also be sure terminals are tight. I would think if it’s battery tsc would replace it.
