Extreme is an American rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985, that reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They have released six studio albums, two EPs (in Japan) and two compilation albums since their formation. The band was one of the most successful rock acts of the early 1990s, selling over 10 million albums worldwide.
Extreme achieved their greatest success with their 1990 album Pornograffitti, which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold in May 1991 and double platinum in October 1992. The album featured the acoustic ballad single "More Than Words", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
Another ballad they did was called Wholehearted. Another great song.
Extreme is more known for hard rock. Such as their earlier song featured in the soundtrack of the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," Do you want to play?"
Song is about needing more than just the words I love you from the other person, but to demonstrate that they love them. More than words.

Good choice. 1989 if memory serves. I was a whopping 16 years old and still wet behind the ears in those days. I would suggest, if you want a little heavier sound of the 80's, either Keel - Speed Demon or Grim Reaper - See You In Hell.

Also, besides what you said ,it's about if you couldn't say i love you anymore and you messed up what would you do? You need to show love more then saying I love you, I love you is nice to hear but it isn't the cure all actions speak louder than words, so you shouldn't need those words to make things new if you have been showing love by actions

They are so good. Nuno Bettencourt is an amazing guitar player and singer. Gary Cherone is a fantastic lead singer. He used to sing for Van Halen after Sammy Hagar. But they are really more hard than this song. Get the Funk Out is fun
