Once A Year, Honda Heaven Exists In Saitama...

- On my last few days in Japan, I head back over to the Tokyo-side of Japan to check-out the 2nd annual "Chan-Oka Honda Meet" in Saitama. This meet is a special one for me because its entire purpose is to pay homage to the USDM West Coast Honda scene of the mid-to-late 2000s. While we spent the better part of our adult lives in America building Hondas inspired by the ones we saw in Japan, younger enthusiasts over there were studying our interpretations of their style. In the last few years, USDM Honda culture and style has developed a pretty big following in Japan. It's become a style almost unique to itself because its an interpretation of an interpretation. Like if one person tells another person a story, and that person repeats that story to someone else, and so on and on, eventually the story becomes different. It just retains certain elements, or the core pieces, of the original story. That's basically what the USDM Honda community consists of. It features many of the core ideologies of what we did here, but the execution is slightly different. Some parts are different because accessibility to certain brands are limited and Japan just does things unique from us because culturally, they weren't raised the same. The Chan-Oka Honda Meet is an important gathering because it represents a big part of where the Honda community in Japan is headed in the next few years. For guys like me who grew-up during the golden age of the West Coast Honda scene, this meet is Heaven on Earth-but like, a Japanese version of Heaven :)

I honestly never get tired of seeing Honda's, so much style
The black DC2 on M7s gives me mid-late 2000's flashbacks. So cool.
joey thanks for coming back this year. 🙏
Sorry about the receptionist.
I will try to understand more English by next year. 🙂
Haha it's okay!
Love seeing their interpretation of USDM builds and the California license plates lol. Dope meet and great coverage Joey!
Appreciate it!
It was kind of an honor to see California plates on the cars there. I miss my 98 ITR ffsquad forever. LOL
I love Honda. Thank you.
Joey, thank you very much for mentioning the Hasport mounts when they are part of the modifications. It is always weird to me when someone starts to name all the mods and just glosses over the mounts. Especially when it's a swap.
I always mention the mounts cuz I look to make sure they’re not fake lol
I’m glad that this is becoming an annual meet, I really wanted to go this year but I just got a job lol. Hopefully it gets bigger next year
First appearance Yasu at the USDM meet on top of the crates is sub-boss vibes haha
Yessir little sneak peek I'm at work right now I'll continue later😁🤙
Thank you for introducing me to blue FK2.
I want everyone to know more about FK2.
I am always grateful for your videos!
Your video's never disappoint, this video just gave me motivation to pull one of my honda projects in the garage today and start getting it on the streets again.
Chan-Oka is definitely on the list of meets i wanna visit in the future. Also here in Germany its actually very common to do a “Rover-BBK” conversion on EGs and EKs since they came with bigger brakes and they’re just rebadged Civics like you said.
another great video as always, loved watching this Japan series, 22:27 if it only came stock like this, awesome conversion, amazing cars, and idky but I really liked seeing Yasu's reactions throughout this whole series lol, keep up the great work
My man, I want to say tttttthhank you soooo much for showing all the Hondas out there. Keep up the great job. Again thank you
I appreciate that!
What absolute perfection!
Very sweet and spice Honda’s❤🔥 I loved the baby blue fg2 civic and all the white and silver Civcs too and wow That dark blue accord😻 need me a set of work wheels A$AP!!
Glad you liked it!!
i almost cry watching this videos, for real, what a dream to be there, thank you for sharing this to the world.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Joey i get soo excited everytime i see you posted a new video! Thanks for always bringing the best of the best coverage to us Honda boys! ❤❤❤
motivation to build Hondas clean and correct!
I love the ep3s! Crazy my cousin actually lives in Tokorozawa!
Very cool to see that Isuzu. Reminds me of the British rebranded Acura Legend (Sterling?).
On a side note, Japan will continue to play loud music, until we see Joey's dance moves 😮😂😅
Really love that tactical art lip for the EK. Just wish I knew how to get one😢
Great turn out! Makes me want another Honda.❤
Love that black S2K.overall so many nice clean hondas.🔥🔥
Looks like a dope trip and peaceful calming last show on your final full day. It’s interesting being on the other side of the overlap in build types, as we import theirs they import ours. They get more defined and now tuck engine bays. While we swing back toward nopi nights, and stupidity runs rampant….sorry bout that, old man rant over.
That yellow ek with Usdm headlights
and side mirrors probably so cool to them out there lol
Exactly!!
Appreciate the coverage man - 90s vibes make me smile
Glad you enjoyed it man
Awesome coverage man. That white crx is perfection ❤
Thanks for the content awesome as always
26:19 is just perfect with the Mugen Cyber CRX SiR 🤤
Amazing content. Surprised to hear a South African song in the back ground. (Amapiano song was playing around 9:20)
I love watching your videos man! You are living my dream rn😂 Cant wait to move to japan myself
Excellent coverage as always, thanks Joey.
You're welcome!!
This meet had a very west coast feel, until they started leaving driving onto perfectly smooth pavement.
Like the FD2 content. 🙌
That CRX interior is so classy.
sick! I watch longer videos in sessions but so far as mentioned it's like going back a decade-ish when it was still forums pre social media nuke pre wide body boom. oe++ takes.
Have fun back home mate. Thanks as always for the Japanese content. 👍🏻🇦🇺
Thank you!
@@THECHRONICLES Pause.
Trop bien. Comme d’hab.
À quand le vultech sur Honda ?
Great content as always
P A U S E 😂
That "pause" had me dying 😂😂
Wow!I still watch the old episode of this show.Has it really been a year?😳
Exactly one year!
@@THECHRONICLES Damn!
wasnt expecting that jump cut at 6:47 tbh but enjoyed the vlog!
The original video was 55 minutes long so that transition prob got abrupt when I was trimming it down
Hey Joey! Just sharing the love. Been following your video's for ever.
Is there a way I can contact you, I have some Black Recaro DC2's available.
We found a clean set already, thanks!!
ugh I'm so happy right now
24:59 Thats OEM mid spoiler and OEM rear lip. Had both on my EK3 VTi.
Thank you for watching my Shark Blue S2K🦈
Awesome car❤
12:49
Hurry hurry Joey's filming! haha
Lovee!! I want to go to Japan so bad!!❤
Need to hear more of that carb setup so sexy !
Honda power bitches🇯🇵Those whips are all A1🔥😮💨
Anyone else notice how they did the passenger mount on the blue k swapped gsr? Looks really nice
So many clean ass rides 🤙🏽…yellow EK hatch has very good taste 😂
Aight man. I’ll be back on your channel next year. Peace ✌️
Loved this so much, anyone have an idea of what bracing the ek at 10:00 had? would love to fit that onto my ek
Thats gotta be rad to see your decals repped all over Japan.
Very cool haha, after all these years it's still cool to see...
@@THECHRONICLES I bet! Man I was so disappointed I couldn't make it to the meet in Richmond, BC. Hope you come back to Canada at some point.
The community is strong here we just aren't currently all that organized. I run a BC-Type R Enthusiasts chat but we haven't linked with Reggie. Would be cool if we could make it annual.
“Comptech catalogue car”
Me, whose neck snapped 😅
Hey i plan on visiting Japan to experience the loop should I bring my ek hatch
Damn so many USDM imported 8th gens out there, love to see it. Maybe that will make us appreciate the FA5 and FG2 a bit more in the states.
It won’t lol
21:58 Actually really like the rough look of the writing, almost looks intentional haha
intentionally terrible lol
I need to know everything about that carbureted integra immediately
The red Insight is more CR-X than the CR-Z imho
the "riverside" comment xD
Extremely sad i didnt see any preludes. My favorite car in the world, 4th gens. Do you see them ever in japan?
Maybe 1 or 2 but rarely...
Mid wing on the white EK is oem access
20:57 was that a Gunner pause? lmao that was funny af.
7:30 that Mugen body kit is insane
did you see any clean preludes while in Japan?
29:06 that's crazy. But it's done right.
damn, they play classic mobb deep at these events? haha
2:43 the best looking ek9 for me
Red sir ek even had cali plates
I can’t wait till I get to the Japan. Hopefully the Honda scene has less organized criminal involvement there…
Hahahahahahaha
Joey will your Collab be having a restock?
Yes!
@@THECHRONICLES Will this be announced or should I just keep checking the site every day.
I’ll make an announcement
Is it the same month every year? I just got stationed in Japan.
Around the same time yes
While this FK2 type R is stunning looking it was the worst Civic Type R ever built as it had torsion beam rear suspension more weight and the same HP as it's predecessor . Just like the Similar to the crappy 7th Gen we received in the states
It sucks the shoes made in Japan are alot easier to import to America than the cars are, and vice versa, ooooohhhhhh the logistics.
My father had an CRX and claims it got about 50 mpgh.
I guess the Honda Fit isnt as popular out there smh
19:00 Might as well pause the month…😂
No preludes?
Those are ITB’s!! (Individual Throttle Bodies) Not carburetor’s! Two totally different things
No, those are carburetors.
Bro its simple! First of all just google “Honda Individual throttle bodies” and second look up what a carburetor is and the purpose of it and how they work! If you look closer you will notice throttle bodies on each individual cylinder with their own respective velocity stack intake inlets! A car is either electronically fuel injected (which those hondas are) or theyre carbureted! A carburetor regulates the proper air fuel ratio and provides air and fuel for all cylinders! Which electronic fuel injection systems replaced! Which consist of a (single) throttle body and electronic fuel injectors!.. however in this case if you notice each individual cylinder has its own individual throttle body! Also known as ITB’s!
@xrayrcgeek7923 look up what an Keihin FCR carb is and what an SS Works carburetor adapter kit is. Those are individual carbs that were used in motorcycles and adapted to cars throughout the 80s to 2000s. You learn something new everyday.
Pause
Lawnmower gtg.
Damn bro I think you need some nutrients in your system lol
PCI side skirts gotta go!
Yea indeed
The first scene bothered me. sorry.
Honda is dead , it died when the last S2000 final edition was made, now it’s just BS Marketing selling SUVs and financing Accords and Civics .
