I love when reviewers have their expectations correctly set. This is a consumer grade lens, and it won't be a L-class glass, it's just a tool for beginners to cover all focal lengths with acceptable quality

Hi Joe, I have a D5600 with the 35mm 1.8, the 18-105 Nikkor, and the OLD Tamron 70-300 (no VC). I was considering replacing the latter 2 lenses with this one. What are your thoughts on that?

Honestly, after testing the Sigma 18-250mm in my opinion the image quality is much better. I can't speak to how well it will work on a Nikon since I tested on a Canon. I've seen may reviews of this lens and one thing that holds true is massive chromatic aberration. Its really bad. If your not pixel peeping it will work for a general walk around lens. If you can try before you buy. Thank you for commenting.

Hi Joe, thanks for the video! You mentioned the 55-250 Canon... would you say that is the better lens of the two? For sharpness, reduced chromatic aberration, value, video, etc?

Overall the Canon 55-250mm is better with the exception of the lack of the 18-55mm focal range. If you're ok with switching out lenses the 2 kit lenses work great. For an all in one the Tamron is ok. The Sigma 18-250mm is better in my opinion. I've had good luck with it.

NoPro Joe thank you for your quick reply! I think I’d rather carry an extra lens with me than have one lens that does it all but compromises on the quality :)

were these images jpg files or raw files and processed adding sharpness? thanks

They were RAW when shot the Flickr copies are jpeg comprehension. They were edited in Lightroom for basic RAW corrections. Thank you for commenting.

I would lean towards the Sigma 18-300.
