    You should check out the Texas indie house called Boyds of Texas. Made in San Antonio. If you like bowmakers, you with Love High Desert and Cuero. They are 100% natural to boot. Another great Texas house is called Cultus Artem. Their Vetiver is incredible and their Tuberose lifelike. Also 100% natural I believe, hand made in Texas.

    Im still so new to perfumery, and the reason i got into it was because i was in an uber and the man who was driving was wearing black magenta by DS Durga and it was just beautiful, it kept unraveling itself throughout the ride and it wasn’t until the end where i had to ask what it was! I purchased it and i love it but its definitely opened the doors to my curiosity on perfumes, i also purchased “La couche Du Diable” by Serge Lutens because of you and i absolutely LOVEEE it, will be purchasing a bigger bottle and many more of your recommendations! 😊

    So far tried bowmaker and st vetiver. Like them a lot and would buy but a bit pricey . I don’t think coriander was a hit judging by the amount of sales on eBay .

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  Месяц назад +2

      Yeah I think coriander was one of the ones I discussed on my DS & Durga Livestream and it was so so

    Great video Ram! Playing with essential oils some time ago I think I discovered how to give that effect you're talking about to the woody accord. I would like to be able to smell Bowmakers to understand if my intuition is correct, but unfortunately I am also in my hiatus period

    To me the brand had its finest output somewhere between 2008 - 2012. Bowmakers, Mississippi Medicine (a must if you love smoky fragrances), Burning Barbershop, Cowboy Grass. The more recent releases (2015 and onwards) feel lackluster to me.

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  Месяц назад

      Yes I know what you mean... and now with the buyout from Manzanita Capital will they become even more lackluster 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔

    Hiyah mate. Loving your videos. Watching top 100 as we speak. Just watched your vintage still worth buying in their modern formulas .
    Definitely going to try the Lauder and the Lapidus.
    Today’s scent is Giorgio Beverley Hills.
    I would never have imagined wearing this just a few months ago.
    Smells amazing but the Mrs hates it .
    I previously asked you if you knew anything that smells like Macassar.
    According to Fragantica
    Leather Jardin by Zara ( Jo Malone ) comes close.
    You ever smelt that bro?

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  Месяц назад +2

      I have not but I SERIOUSLY doubt a Jo Malone frag smells like Macassar

      Lol yes i seriously doubt it too. But I’m kinda clutching at straws .
      Don’t have £400 to splurge on eBay. The wafts from the loft guys big up the Zara but at no stage mention Macassar 🥴

    This is the one from D.S.&D that I've been interested in the most. I live in a part of New York that does a lot of wood processing and carpentry, and has lots of old wooden cabins and cottages, so any fragrances that remind me of home are always going to get my attention.

    I miss this era of DSD. Now I feel like they’re trying too hard and collaborating with everyone and releasing something once a month. Seems to be working in their favor as their numbers and sales are increasing! Kudos to that but I they’ve lost their touch for me along with their recent sale. Had 12 bottles at the beginning of the year and now I’m down to 2….D.S. (Oud, saffron), and Debaser (fig, milk, woods). I do enjoy Radio Bombay and wouldn’t mind owning Durga. Cheers! I do enjoy Bowmakers. I sold it to a friend and he loves it. Smells good on him.

      Compare Notorious Oud side by side with Matiere Premiere Crystal Saffron. They have a striking similarly

      @@petbull7038 cheers @petbull7038 I hear you on the comparison and I think that also applies to most fragrances with the, Dare I say Oud for greatness genre in them , clearly not the same but all going for the similar scent profile especially in the air 👍
