At 10:49 the “empty vile” is called a memory tube. So in the event that something should happen to the casket (should the casket become dislodged from its space in a mausoleum or crypt, or unearthed from the ground), the identity of the deceased can be easily known without having to exhume the remains.

To your question at 13:05 Way back when everyone was stupid, when someone fell into a coma or was passed out for days, they were presumed dead. Obviously, the families would wait by their side for a few days to make sure but if they didn't wake, they would be buried. Occasionally, people would reuse coffins and when they dug one up, there were scratch marks on the inside. When these scratch marks showed up on a large number of coffins, people began to think "Well huh, maybe we killed a few people by burying them alive..." Bells on a string were attached to the coffins. If the gravekeeper heard the bell, the person would be dug up. (This is where the phrase "saved by the bell" comes from. ) So, yeah people have been buried alive but we can tell a dead person from a living one now lol!

Sometimes, they'd also hire someone to keep watch of the grave for a few days just in case the bell rings even at night. It's where the term graveyard shift came from

At 10:56 the clear tube you are holding is actually for the name of the decedent, birthdate, date of death, and the mother and father's name. It exists because in the event of a flooding and instances like Hurricane Katrina there were unearthed caskets floating down the streets. Batesville and a lot of other casket companies decided to place that feature in so we can make sure that we are able to identify the dead.
I work at a funeral home and I just wanted to share that little tidbit with you! Also just so you know, because you ordered the Batesville Black Onyx J37 casket it should come with some paperwork and one is called the living memorial packet. Batesville will plant a tree in your honour, all you have to do is just fill out the mail postcard and send it. Then they will send you a letter in return saying that they planted it! I just think that is super cute :)

Yepp and people actually used to get buried alive. That's why they used to tie a string to the wrists of the dead that would be attached to a bell above the ground so if the "dead" woke up they could ring the bell and hopefully be saved in time by the night guards who would be stay at the cemetery at night waiting to hear if any bells rung. And also to guard against grave robbers paid to dig up fresh bodies for experiments.

As a historian, if I may fact-check these:
(1) While there was a great fear of being buried alive around the 1800s, there is no evidence that it ever actually happened, or that anyone was ever 'saved' by ringing a bell. The coffins did exist, though. Mainly because of said fear.
(2) most historians agree that the phrase 'saved by the bell' did not originate from this, but originated in the world of sports.

I heard this one scary story about that (they said it was true but who really knows). A man that worked at the graveyard was checking something (I don’t remember what) and he heard one of those bells go off, he was surprised and confused. Instead of helping her, he took away the bell and put dirt in the breathing hole. He said, “I’m sorry, but you’re not alive. Whatever you are.” Apparently, the girl had been dead for 4 weeks (or months, I can’t remember).

On the end of many caskets there is a plastic vial that screws into the body. It makes a water-tight seal. Vital information about the deceased is placed in that vial, such as the name, cemetery location, date of death, etc. These have been very useful in returning the remains to the proper place after some disaster or mix-up has caused a problem. For example, in some of the hurricanes that have hit the southern part of the United States caskets have floated to the surface and away from the burial site. If there is a lot of water on the Earth's surface and the soil is sandy or not compacted, a casket could float out of the grave because it is quite buoyant. In hurricane Camille there reports of caskets coming up from the ground, being ripped open, and having the remains deposited in tree tops. Myles McGrath told us how the shrimp fisherman in Louisiana pulled in many floating caskets from the ocean after the storm.

13;10 That actually used to happen wayyy long ago in history. When modern technology didn't exist, and we didn't know if dead was dead, people would commonly get buried alive. This is why something called a "safety coffin" was invented. Strings would be tied to the head, feet, and hands of the person being buried. If they woke up and moved, a bell would ring, signaling that somebody was buried alive and they would be dug up. There were also places where the "dead, but not for sure" would be held. Basically what it was, was a place where people would stay for a while if presumed dead. If they didn't wake up at all, they were presumed dead and sent to burial. If they woke up, they went back home.

Back in the day (Black Death time??) there was an issue of people being buried but they were "not dead yet" and they woke from their comatose state... six feet under. They got the idea of attaching a cord to the coffin, that was connected to a bell above ground. If you woke up from your illness, you rang the bell and they dug you up. Thus came the phrase "saved by the bell" True story!

They have found that being buried alive was more of a fear than anything else. Few people actually did get buried alive since the common practice was to wait 3 days before burial. Even if you were buried alive you would die before anyone could did you up, even if you had the bell. It is also were the term Graveyard shift came from since it was the job of someone to listen for the bells at night.

I’m sure someone has probably already commented the reason, but the clear tube is to put identification in. If the cemetery ever had a crazy flood and the caskets came up and floated away (example in New Orleans where many people are buried above ground in cement enclosures), the tubes would help identify you and get you back where you belong.
