@@SkydoxGG its not necessarily a downgrade. The 2016 model in particular has more pressing problems (keyboard, keyboard, and keyboard) than the 2015 model

Yes, mac allows a linux dual boot. I've done it on my mac. You could also use rEFIt and triple boot all 3 OSes.

I love my MacBook Pro so much! It's the best notebook I've ever had.
Meanwhile, I have my HP Envy 173D still, its only 1 year old. But the Envy gets VERY hot and loud, and lately I have been getting a Hard drive error. Hopefully I can fix it soon, because I still like the computer as well.

About the BR- Reader/Writer:
I`m pretty sure Apple won`t add it in the Standard Edition as long as BR doesn`t became as much needed as currently CD/DVD Re-/Writer nowadays.

I just upgraded to this computer from an Envy 173D, and I was very anti-apple prior to owning this Macbook. Got the Macbook as a gift so I didn't buy it, nor would I ever shell out that kind of money for a laptop. However, I have to say, this is the best laptop I have EVER owned, in every aspect. The screen blows everything away, the battery life blows everything away, the speed and smoothness blows everything away (I have the 16gb of RAM model). It is truly amazing.

@dtooth79 1 gb of ddr5 is an ample amount of VRAM for gaming, given you play at around 1080p.
I would love to get this unfortunately I am a film student who uses final cut pro to edit films. This mac looses the convenience to burn films onto DVD's due to lack of DVD player/ drive

think ill stick with my late 2011 macbook, 2.4 i7. On the new one I love the retina display and the hdmi port. not that bothered about the portability side of it, but I'm just not ready to loose the superdrive yet!

Apple are different in many ways, not surprisingly they have taken the optical drive out of new macbook pro but surprisingly they put HDMI port, which have never done before making it more friendly to connect with other things

at the end it says battery life verys on use this is mostly gaming i try lots of games on mine and the battery life seems MUCH shorter

Including driving to different shops in town to get all the hardware, assembling and installing - it took half a day.
Then i had a fully working OSX desktop setup which trashed a regular Mac Pro that would have costed more than TWICE - in every benchmark - at that time. Besides the case and look, it was superior in every aspect.
Again, unless you are completely unexperienced with hw/sw - these days, with all the guides on the net - it's seriously chimp-easy to run OSX on PC.
I have a question, when it comes to gaming and memory, is this worth getting? I sometimes even like making videos and editing, so is this capable for amazing video editing? If not, what computer is?

I just bought this laptop yesterday. This is how I feel about the laptop so far:
1. Great display. Love the color accuracy.
2. Very decent speakers.
3. Fairly fast.
4. Loud fan when watching 4K video off RUclips. Sounds like a washer. Machine gets fairly hot near the bottom of the screen.
5. Best to use the power supply for 4K video viewing. Battery power laptop had difficulties computing.
6. Still feels too heavy to me. Could lose another pound or two.
7. Expensive. Paid close to $2800 out the door.

My brother have one macbook pro but its a little smaller, if i understand well this one its better, but i still unknow the difference of the software.
purchasing your parts, checking software-hardware compatibility, putting together the parts, installing, partitioning, debugging all take time. lots of time. and i don't know about you, but time =money. and yeah if you can build a hackintosh that's just as portable, as high definition, as long battery life, as fast, as light. then you can talk about how easy it is to build a hackintosh.

haha good timing, @spartanZ9774 I just got the retina display now for 2000 bucks and i have to say it's simply amazing. Take literally 3 seconds to reboot and boot up. 3 secs...and ur ready to go with all previously opened programs started. The speakers are crispy and clear. The retina display is mind-blowing. NO LAG WUTSOEVER after i opened 30+ tabs on safari, mail, photo booth, iTunes everything i had still no lag. I think u should try giving mac a shot. I've been using pc all my life too

i would buy this, but it doesn't have a blueray reader/ writer. Also an other problem is that i would want a multi card reader. Also i would want more usb ports. you may have created a great note book, but you can't forget the esentials.
