Hello. Ran across your channel. Great projects with clear instructions. Can you do a project on the vape to reverse engineer it to be a smoke machine. There are few on RUclips that I tried but need a professional set up if you can. Thanks. (These are used for photography projects or Cosplay)
The numbers flash by too quickly & I can't see what you are measuring. If it's voltage across a circuit or component (as it seems), don't most multimeters already have a setting for that function?
@@biot2156 it's diode mode. It measures voltage drop of diodes (led, zener etc). Which is kinda uneccesary since the multimeter already has a diode mode (but that mode can't measure zener diodes or leds over a certain voltage, usually 3,... volts)
@@redmist4963 Thanks! I wasn't far off then. And I figured most multimeters had a setting for what I thought I was seeing. Just didn't realize it was specific to diodes.
This is a really dangerous device, since all the parts are with AC-line voltage. You can protect yourself by using any quality RCD-protection with a setpoint of 10 mA. It is not 100% garantee of safe. As an engineer, I do not recommend circuits that are galvanically connected to the AC-line: transformer-free power supplies and autotransformers.

You say that the resistor in series with the main has a value of 470K (time 0.42). If this value is true and not a mistake, the current at the output is very very low and it is impossible to turn on a led, please check. Have a nice day
I used to have one of these with the loud bell that I found in a railroad scrap pile. I ran it as a window alarm from a 12 or 24 VDC transformer in a 110 VAC wall outlet. It was VERY DAMN LOUD in my very tiny, 8 × 16 ft. room!! 😁😁 (It was 40+ yrs ago, tho. I forget what else I needed for it but it wasn't much.)
I've read several comments that want you to take this down because of the danger. Leave. this. up. The world will be a much, much better place if'n you let Darwin sort it out. Honestly, take the warning labels off of everything. I mean if a label has to be put on a belt sander to tell a person not to place tongue on the moving surface...
