    CAPACITIVE VOLTAGE DIVIDER IT IS SAFER AND BETTER OVERALL TO USE A BATTERY 3 TO 9 VOLTS WITH CURRENT LIMITING RESITOR TO TEST LEDS THE TRANSIENT SPIKE 117 VOLTS COULD DAMAGE A LED THAT WAS OTHERWISE OK SO ONE BATTERY AND ONE RESISTOR VS A BUNCH OF CAPS AND RESISTORS

    • @danny323dee
      @danny323dee 2 года назад

      are you using a boost converter to up the 3 to 9 volts to 117v? the only thing the 9v battery will do is to allow you to test each individual led.

      Падение напряжения покажет, но матрица светиться не будет. Там кондёры, и диодики чуть по мощнее надо, но тогда она будет сжигать при проверке одиночных слабых светодиодов. Или, или.. Можно хитрый тумблер поставить, для слабых и мощных проверок.

    Your circuit is interesting, however, this type of building style IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! It is in the best interest of your community to remove this video and not post such dangerous builds with open lethal voltages. The alternative is to build a proper enclosure and use a small 1:1 isolation transformer and also incorporate a fuse for extra safety.

      @@RJEDITALL Dear Sir, I like your particular circuit building style when it comes to low no lethal voltages, but in this case, there are lethal voltage levels involved at the input. It depends how confident you are that some novice will try your circuit and not accidentally electrocute themselves.

      @lucdrouin2625 2 года назад +3

      @@robtherub usage of a soldering iron is standard and acceptable practice in this field. It's quite OK ☺️. The build style is unique as not circuit board or mounting plates are used. One can also pull wire sleeves over exposed component leads to prevent accidental shorts. And always, preferably a device diagram, at least for a couple of seconds so that you can figure out the options.

    This is a really dangerous device, since all the parts are with AC-line voltage. You can protect yourself by using any quality RCD-protection with a setpoint of 10 mA. It is not 100% garantee of safe. As an engineer, I do not recommend circuits that are galvanically connected to the AC-line: transformer-free power supplies and autotransformers.
