Amazing thoroughness! I especially appreciated the note at 2:50 about the recycling. That's important to me and the reason I stopped using a "higher end" Keurig (wasn't impressed with the coffee either). I usually make French Press coffee after hand grinding but would love to have a quick, easy option when needed again. Cheers

Great review. We have this machine and thought the lungo button was broken, because it never put out much coffee. We never realized we can set the size and it now works great!

It was Father’s Day yesterday and I couldn’t get him anything due to this pandemic ... but , i live in a small country that we can get same day delivery of some thing , and I saw this coffee machine . I got very interested because my dad loves coffee , but he mostly drinks instant coffee because it very fast ... I decided to get this but I’m scared he will think it’s a little much work lol 😂 .

I got one used on marketplace for 40 bucks. It's pretty good. I had a Citiz and Milk, which was really kind of large for my space, and I don't make milk drinks anymore, just straight shots. This machine works for that purpose, well.

Great video ! Very well made . The only thing is that some people want to make coffee with this machine … do you have a video about that ? Ie. instead of 110 ml then 230 ml coffee .. which capsule is best etc . As when I started to use this machine I tried to make coffee and it was like water . Very diluted and little taste …. I just got this one today at a 35% discount from Nespresso, after my old Inicia Machine gave up the ghost on me and wouldn’t pump water through anymore. But there is one thing that you did get wrong. crema isn’t actually cream. That pump motor inside the machine is actually an air compressor. Have you ever seen white water on a river? That’s pretty much the same thing. It forms when that high pressure jet of water combines with the air that is pumped out along with it.
no. The right hand button is actually called lungo which is a double shot.

You said that you hold the button for the amount of extra water you want in your espresso or lungo. It will then blink 3 times. It will remember this amount as long as you don't unplug the machine?

Thank you for the detail review. But I do have a question, I found at targets the Café Bustelo, the mini pods. But it seems there’s less on the espresso and less coffee on the Lungo . Should I program it?

Instead of descaler, can I run water and vinegar through it instead to clean it? And by the way, you don't even have to take that tank off to fill it. Just get a tea kettle full of water and fill it that way--it's way faster. Also, Amazon sells their Solimo brand of these capsules that are WAY less expensive than the ones you're using. One more thing--while you're waiting for the water to heat up, you can press either button in advance and when the water's hot enough, it'll start brewing on its own. But this mini brewer is great because it creates the foam and the foam STAYS with you for the whole cup! Thanks for the video! (And I love your countertop!) lol
This may be wayyy too late but the Nespresso website says never to use vinegar as it can damage the machine :)
@@deadthorns I don't see how that could be --but maybe it is. Or maybe it's because they want you to buy their own cleaner...
@@andyandcallie I had that thought myself, but it’s possible (according to Google) that the vinegar can damage rubber bits and seals on the inside

My daughter would like a coffee machine for Xmas. I don’t drink coffee so I really have no idea. The amount of coffee made seems small so we make the cup of coffee then ad milk afterwards to sort of make a full cup?

I read in a couple of reviews that the coffee doesn't come out hot enough. What is your experience?
I am a new coffee drinker. I think it's perfect for me because I am more sensitive to hot drinks. I don't like the burning sensation of hot drinks in my throat like some do. Nor do I like waiting for the drink to cool down for 10 minutes. I can drink this straight out of the machine without burning my mouth.
Can it be programmed to brew a full-sized coffee/Americano?
No, it only has the two preset sizes.
Sorry, forgot to add that you can press either button and hold to select the size of your brew. Let go when you have the desired amount in your cup. I haven’t tried it but it should work.

Im a bit sceptical about buying it bc in the past I bought other coffee machines but they were not nespresso makes but anyway it used capsules also but the taste was very artificial just want to know if this machine is the same.
It's great that the pods are recyclable, it just seems funny that we are worried about these tiny things when coffee shops give out large plastic containers and lids with every cold drink; it would be easy for each person to get 3 per day. I always picture the landfill and I'd rather see lots of these tiny aluminum pods than billions of Starbucks plastic cups and lids. just sayin'
OR what I find quite confusing is how many coffee shops have shifted to "paper straws" but then they give it to you in a large entirely plastic cup with plastic lid.
Not to mention when they're produced half a world away and sent over on cargo ships that pollute more in a single trip than every vehicle in the US combined. It's all theatrics.
