      Tried the d300 driver. Was a good driver and went the distance. Wilson staff are well over looked. Would love the fg tour v6 irons you have too. If you ever decide to change I'm ur man for the old ones. Keep up the great videos. New format is top drawer as well.

      Yes - when Strata Bloc was the bee's knees! Things have moved on since then, obviously, but the dubious claims continue and golfers continue to pay over the odds for product which performs no better than just about anything else. This looks like a good driver at a lower (over) price.

      Nope, but if you send one my way I might be tempted to try one!

    If I was averaging 306 off the tee, the club could sound like a Whoopie cushion and I’d be fine. 😂

    Best driver i ever had, been playing it for 3 years, most forgiving driver and workable too. Who cares about the sound or color, i care about finding the fairway, and this driver is doing just that. Tried many drivers and they all go the same distance for me but this one is like i said long and accurate anywhere on the face. It is going to stay in my bag for ever.

    You know it’s a good club when all you can really pick on is the look and sound which is purely personal preference, I think it looks great, and it clearly performs really well. I’d love one.

  • @BBina18

    Awesome. I was waiting for this video. What I saw on Wilson's website is that the power holes are marketed as not necessarily increasing speed off the face, but instead they are said to widen the sweet spot as the face is able to flex more (more forgiveness). I used to have a Taylormade RBZ driver that I was able to hit a bit further, but it had a half inch longer shaft, so that might have been the difference. I was lucky enough to win this driver in Rick's Christmas giveaway and have liked it so far. I haven't done anything to it, just used it as it came/stock.

    Rick!!!! I have been waiting for this review since I got fit for this driver a few months ago. Went to my local PGA Superstore and got set up on the monitors and tried every new driver out there. After an hour smashing drives and having the PGA professional look at all my number, the Wilson C300 out performed every other driver I hit. For me of course.
    I hit the new Rogue, M3 and M4, Ping G400, etc etc. I was amazed at this outcome. I swing around 105-108MPH. I think I need a different shaft over the 58g stock stiff shaft, but so far on performance this thing has been delivering. I play Mizuno irons, and don't really care what driver I have as long as it works. And I proved that by trusting the numbers I saw and how the driver felt when I hit it, by buying this Wilson C300. I spent $400 on a Wilson Driver...... let that sink in....... LOL. Worth every penny so far.
    I too am not a fan of the higher pitch sound off the club, but hey, I can't argue with the results, so it's in the bag! Thanks for all the great work Rick, you're a true pro.

      Poké Ballsack that’s actually my current driver that I’ve been sticking with, it plays so well for me that I just can’t take it out my bag. The sound is definitely a plus for me.

      AGMiddY I played the aeroburner two seasons. I recently switched to the m1. The sound is a downgrade but as for performance and adjustability it was definitely worth it for me. But the aeroburner is a great driver for sure.

    I used to call my 3 wood the fairway finder until I bought the C300 Driver. Being a mid handicapped golfer I dont always find the middle, but this club is so forgiving and the distance is decent from heal or toe strikes. Saves me a fortune on balls as well

  • @peterthanasse1321
    @peterthanasse1321 6 лет назад

    This Spring, I tested the C300 & had great results. It was nearly on par with the Callaway Rogue Zero & Mizuno I also tested, but was hundreds (Canadian) cheaper. As I kept browsing, I saw the Triton in the Clearance bin. It was $175 Canadian & had the 125 shaft in it. I tered that, & while it did not quite perform as well as the C300, Rogue & Mizuno, it was only a few yards shorter, but had tighter dispersion (for me). I decided to save 400$ & buy the Triton.
    Having watched your review, I was worried, but I did not have the same launch angle issues & I tend to fade, so it sitting just a bit closed works well for me.
    Either way, dollar for dollar, all of Wilson Staff's offerings are competitive & should be considered & tested.

    First I want to say I got The driver, 3 and 5 woods BRAND NEW for $370 ebay. Now to keep it short this driver is 15yds longer than my Taylormade SLDR. I'm hitting fairways like clock work. The club is SO forgiving. Miss hits only move 3-5 yards fade or draw.... Yes the sound is crazy.... CRAZY LONG!!!! :)

  • @marksamuel5347
    @marksamuel5347 6 лет назад +1

    Thank you for this review. I was looking at getting the Callaway Rogue. Seeing this review and seeing the review you made for the Rogue, I compared your numbers yes the Rogue is better in some aspects but your Carry and overall yardage were better with the C300! So I bought the Wilson and saved $250.00 Dollars Canadian!!! For the Color I love it and the sound ..It can't be worse than my Talormade R11 lol

    Loved the Review. When I saw this club for the first time I loved the color. I’m surprised Rick didn’t mention how the color fades and changes when you see it from different angles. I play the C300 and love it. Love the sound, love the red, love paying $200 less than a Rogue. I also play the c200 irons and they are LONG! I love that most players don't want to buy W/S equipment so the price point remains low.

    I love Wilson Staff clubs. I have them from hybrids to putter. I was always disappointed with their woods and bag Cobra's instead. Great to see that they are improving their woods and I'll definitely give them a swing this summer. I might be going back to having a 100% Wilson Staff bag.

    Wilson was out for our demo day, I absolutely loved the c300 irons and hybrids. I could not quite get the feel for the driver, however he was very limited in shaft options. I like the mat red it’s good on the eyes with no glare or reflection. The brand, looks and price put it on my short list

  • @mikeb1149
    @mikeb1149 6 лет назад

    I think for many people performance can outweigh the negatives if you are looking for just max numbers. The launch and spin numbers for the club were awesome. I look at this as a practical matter in attacking a course. Does my driver get me to or past the 150 marker on a hole? Am I having 7I or 8I approach shots? On Par 5's does the driver get me to a place where my second shot can get me to the 100 yard marker, and I can go for pins with a wedge?
    I think a driver that arguably comes from a second tier brand, and produces consistent 300 yard bombs has got to be one you are willing to suffer a little discomfort with if it's lowering your scores.

    i suspect that the urethane insert slots would bring the ball speed down as the material would have a dampening effect not a spring effect like my old wilson deep red has , would probably be a better driver without the urethane inserts.

    have tested and used Wilson Staff drivers. infact, I have a Wilson Staff driver in the bag, which I interchange with a Titleist Driver.
    The W/S driver I have is the Dd6+. the sound of which I always thought good. But most importantly, it worked for me. giving distance and consistency. Now, the reason I have another driver, is for when I play coastal/links golf. As, just as you got a very high launch, so did I. and although the W/S driver seems to work okay in all conditions, I like a lower flight for driving into Wind, hence the lower lofted Titleist.
    On the issue of adjustable weights, I remember having issues with a Taylor-Made Driver, I think the R7, which had for a little while. and which sold on. it had a very metallic sound. so this could be the issue here. though will say, my W/S Dd6+ does have a louder sound than would have preferred initially, though certainly not tinny. it's a satisfying crack, or bang.
    Of the review driver do I like the looks.? Yes, do like the metallic Claret/Burgundy colour.? Yes. And the shape is pleasing to the eye. I would consider it. though the adjustable weights do put me off. I would be tempted to just leave it in neutral.

    Yeah looks and sound is big for me also. I hate a tiny sound off a driver. Another excellent video Rick.

    That graphic was awesome to compare everything, and it really makes you wonder if Wilson was onto something with that new design. It would not be very good on a windy day with that high launch however...

    Enjoy every review. Any club I'm interested in I always check here first. Rick does great reviews with all the data and visual especially the look at address which is the most important. Thanks again.

    They aren't so easy to find at a good price now but team the C300 driver with a Wilson Smartcore or 50 Elite ball and watch 'em fly.
    Rick, I bought this club following your review along with a fairway 5 and a hybrid 5 and all I can say is "thank you, I love them". But..., When are you going to review their Infinite Putters, as they are awesome. You can borrow mine if you like.

    I would love to try this driver. Wilson is often overlooked these days but they make some nice stuff.
