The evil and greed up and down the ranks in the church is obscene. The targeting of nuns and their monastaries is prolific and outrageous. The "Bishop" who practices gluttony tried to get his greasy fingers on the multimillion dollar monastary and land around it, but the nuns circumvented his greed. He happily smears the Mother Superior in public, but nary a word about who the alleged priest is. Does the priest even exist? No wonder today's youth have moved away from the church. Anyone who supports the "Bishop's" actions is just as heinous as he is.
Interesting that they didn’t dismiss the man who was involved in this situation. Not to mention all the other people employed in the Catholic Church who were involved in far worse criminal acts than never faced prison time for their actions.
The report clearly stated that the priest involved was from outside the diocese. Meaning that the bishop does not have authority over him. Some other bishop would have to do something. I think that’s why.
The faces of the nuns show personalities of grace and compassion. One nun turned out to be only human and fell in love with a priest. She confessed. And they are all condemned by that very worldly looking bishop who probably is very uncomfortable with women or anyone who questions himself? I thought forgiveness is offered to the repentant! I think Jesus would side with the nuns.
Only one nun was accused; the mother superior. But the identity of the associated priest who allegedly broke his vow of chastity with the sickly nun remained protected. Why? We don't know. Most probably it's all been nothing but a staged thing because the fat Bishop wanted to seize their land and SELL it. Why is he trying to do that? Well, just ask him why he's fat and doesn't fast and you'll never get a good answer - what more to expect when questioned about what is he planning to do with the land. So in protest against their unwilling dismissal from continuing their lives as Carmelite nuns, they decided to join the SSPX. The Catholic Church under the current pope is a mess.
But it’s my understanding that the SSPX is not in full communion with the Holy See. Am I wrong? I could be. I’m always confused by this. Plus, why were the other cloistered nuns dismissed.

The ignorance of people here. -The nuns were u see the authority of the bishop. This is part of their religious life and vow. -the head nun admitted to having broken her vow of Chasity with a priest of another diocese, who has been forced to retire. - the bishop and other witness that heard her admitting have recordings of their meetings and in no way was the bishop rude, harsh or angry. In fact he showed great remorse. - the bishop removed her from her position and the head nun agreed. It wasn’t u til afterwards that the nuns refused the bishops judgment. - the nuns assumed that the bishop wanted their property (which he had no interest and still to this day has no interest in it) and appealed to Rome. Rome replied back saying that the bishop is in the right and they are to submit to his authority. - the nuns then rejected the Vatican's order and took the bishop to court. The court literally said that this case is not part of their jurisdiction and is a Church matter and dismissed the case. - the nuns then went into schism (meaning they divorced themselves from the church) and decided to join a group of schismatic “Catholics” called the sspx. - the Vatican along with the bishop then said that the nuns are dismissed from their religious life and no longer are nuns and now only laity. So these nuns are 1. No longer Catholic 2. No longer nuns and 3. They did this to themselves. And 4. The bishop doesn’t care about their property

@@jbw53191Pretty sure that part about SSPX is malarkey. The SSPX are not schismatic, for one. Bishop Sheen stood up at a USCCB conclave in the early '70's and told his fellow bishops that allowing so many gay men into the seminaries was going to result in the greatest catastrophe the Church had ever seen. I am not privy to all te details. But as I understand the problem was that he had no authority as the Sisters fell directly under Rome's authority. Also the bishop used the law as a means to enforce his will. I cant say who was guilty of what and what happened to the priest if anything. What ever precisely happened. This was a mess and it's sad that it occurred.
You shouldn’t. They vowed to follow the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and they broke some of their vows. What is happening is completely just.
It’s only one diocese. “Dioceses” is the plural. I notice newsreaders keep saying “dioceses” for the singular “diocese”. Could somebody please tell them?
Better a Priest and a nun rather than a Priest and a little boy besides Priests are supposed to immolate the Apostol's and while there is scripture that says they were all virgins most of them were married with children so the "they were virgins" means something else The Catholics should have realized this centuries ago and allowed both Priests and nuns to marry and raise kids.
What is particularly unfair is when a married clergyman from another denomination converts to Catholicism, he is allowed to remain married. This happened at the University of St. Thomas in Houston when I was a student there in the late 1980s. There was a married priest on staff who had been ordained in the Episcopalian church then converted to Catholicism and became a Catholic priest while married with a family.
Sex abuse rates among public school teachers are much higher, and most of them are married. Removing Priestly celibacy as a discipline does nothing at all to fix these problems.

Hey, learn how catholic hierarchy works before commenting. It was stated that the priest was from a different diocese. That means, that this bishop has 0 authority over him.
@LordHarv I am a survivor of Catholic hierarchy. Back in the day, mother and father met at a vocation conference. Then they continued meeting clandestinely, and 9 months later, I made the scene. The story is both sad and shocking because back in the '50's this was taboo. Mother was a teaching sister who gave up her vocation, while Father kept his vocation as a parish priest, both from different dioceses. For 4 days of the week he was dad, and for the other 3, he was Father leading a double life. Mother paid the ultimate price while I Iived in the shadows. For a child, this tends to be confusing. I knew that I was loved, but I was never mentioned in social circles; it served to make me stronger as a human being.
@JoeCezus then take that up with the bishop, since hes the one who has control over the priest. The priest in this case is not under this bishop's diocese, and thus has no authority over him. Cool life story. Too bad it's not relevant.
The bishop of Fort Worth has treated these nuns shamefully! He will one day have to stand before God to explain his behavior. Let those of us without sin cast the first. We have all fallen short in one way or another.

I think Jesus would side with the nuns.

Let me get this straight - they broke their vow of chastity, and then joined SSPX? The math isn't mathing.
Had me confused too
Thats what confused me too
Only one nun was accused; the mother superior.
