I managed a open class Volvo 740 rally car; the motor has more money than the car, the cage, suspension, and the dog box combined.

Just took mine off the jacks and me and my brilliant mind drained my alternator wouldn’t turn over and I freaked out. Jumped it threw every light on it when I jumped it, I mean every light! Reset the ECU. Than everything was fine🤦🏻♂️
This might be a hassle for you as I'm not sure how it works, but one idea I had was that you could make a playlist and put all of your videos on how to DIY maintenance together. Not sure if it'd be worth the effort or night, but I personally would love that playlist so I know exactly where to go to find the references. Love the videos and guides man!

Watched the entire thing and I can say this seems so easy to you now, the most that I’ve done about a year ago before starting my engine teardown was a timechain cover. I can say this was a big undertaking to rebuild an engine from scratch . My STI is very rusted so I broke many fasteners, it was a pain. I estimate I worked on my car about 18hrs a week for a year almost so almost 1,000hrs!!! Today is the third day I drive it and le me say this is the smoothest STI I’ve ever driven, no CEL fully stock with all emission control, the rpm is at a solid standstill at idle. After all this work this is so rewarding and I love it. Thank you for the help friend!! Jon

Its sometimes nice to break up the really big progression or main stars of the channel with some of the customers cars. Youve pointed out a few things here but if you see some extra nonsense/random parts installed on these cars its fun to hear about them too

I'm telling you man, my idea I had a while ago of releasing rough cuts of extended video format would have a crowd of people interested. Make those members-only videos to avoid algorithmic BS. Think about it this way too: you can drive more memberships by making those videos a membership feature. And anyone who has YT Premium (like myself) gives you good revenue per minute watched cuz that's how premium pays. Fairly confident it would make you some extra $

I scored a good set of case halves from a replacement I did recently where the rod bearings decided to leave the chat. Had to toss the D25 heads, cams and crank. Tossed the rods and pistons too since I plan to get forged. I'm keeping this video in my liked, faves, list, and all the right places, thank you for the time and effort you give to the community 🙌

Having a 02’ wrb bugeye (I regretted selling after developing rod knock) to my most recent dream car find in TX of a running wrb one owner all stock clean 04’ sti I got for $16k and drove home, I’m looking forward to taking things apart and refreshing the car as it needs it and one day maybe be at 400 whp. I’m stoked to see the progress on the customers 05’ sti (btw I enjoyed the longer step by step tare down) and what you end up doing with your new 07’ sti. Ps- Any particular reason why you’d want to go with a stock turbo inlet vs say a Perrin silicone one? Also curious if you got the new RA short block from flatirons?
For 30:41, id like to point out only 04 Forester XTs also have the same clutch setup as in the video. 05 and newer have push styles like the WRX. Pull style clutch ftw!

Hi everyone for reference to test your timing puley's if they are good, hold the spindle between your fingers if the pulley spjns freely like a skateboard wheel then its bad. But if it barely spins a few repetitions its ok and your only have a few hundreds or "maybe" thousand of life left on it but at that state of the tear down its ALWAYS best to replace with an OEM......just wanted to expand on that part of the tear down @43:40
back in 2018 i had to replace the engine in my bugeye. my budget limited me to buying a used jdm ej205. ever since then i always enjoy watching engine pull videos. knowing more now than i did back then, i wish i had built a 205/257 hybrid. just waiting for this used engine to die off now lol.
This is a super helpful video! Only criticism I have is I wish there was brief troubleshooting diagnostic advice for a common areas has the engine was being gone through. Just things like why would there be oil in your turbo and or intercooler, coolant and oil leak areas ect ect. Given this one 5 out of 5 Stars thank you sir! After watching this I am subscribed and Can't wait for the install video😃.

I always put a board between the front of the engine and the A/C condenser just as a precaution, well documented procedure as always.

Ps- Any particular reason why you’d want to go with a stock turbo inlet vs say a Perrin silicone one? Also curious if you got the new RA short block from flatirons?

For 30:41, id like to point out only 04 Forester XTs also have the same clutch setup as in the video. 05 and newer have push styles like the WRX. Pull style clutch ftw!

Hi everyone for reference to test your timing puley's if they are good, hold the spindle between your fingers if the pulley spjns freely like a skateboard wheel then its bad. But if it barely spins a few repetitions its ok and your only have a few hundreds or "maybe" thousand of life left on it but at that state of the tear down its ALWAYS best to replace with an OEM......just wanted to expand on that part of the tear down @43:40
back in 2018 i had to replace the engine in my bugeye. my budget limited me to buying a used jdm ej205. ever since then i always enjoy watching engine pull videos. knowing more now than i did back then, i wish i had built a 205/257 hybrid. just waiting for this used engine to die off now lol.

This is a super helpful video! Only criticism I have is I wish there was brief troubleshooting diagnostic advice for a common areas has the engine was being gone through. Just things like why would there be oil in your turbo and or intercooler, coolant and oil leak areas ect ect. Given this one 5 out of 5 Stars thank you sir! After watching this I am subscribed and Can't wait for the install video😃.

I have a 2015 sti with a spun bearing. This looks very similar to what I need to do to get the engine out. What are the differences?
On diffrenece is thr AVCS system and some wite harness changed. Everything else will be same same
