- I finally get my Riverside Scale Model Club's group build entry completed after dedicating a solid week to the P-40E. It's not what everyone may have been expecting but I had a lot of fun trying out some new techniques by battering and dirtying up this Warhawk.

a beautiful model Harry. a silk purse from a sows ear if ever I saw one. AI have used the raised paper mask method myself in the past but used tiny balls of blutac instead of tape to hold the mask proud. the bonus of that is that you can vary the height and can put a blob every quarter inch or so. love the end result. keep up the good work.
+UKscalemodeller thanks for the tip. I'll try the Blutac method next time.
Great build! The bullet holes were the perfect touch. You have to love those dirty ones.
Thanks Matey.. I did it because I hated the kit... but in the end I loved the result!
Awesome Harry! I really enjoy your attitude on the hobby. Because I feel the same way. Cheers!
+bpezzano1 good to hear.. After all we hobby for fun and relaxation!
Hi, great job with the weathering and the paint, looks like true plane would look, a bit dirty a bit beaten up and a bit muddy. Great build , nice to see you do another plane.
Keep up the good work.
Phil.
+Philip Gostling thanks.. I just did the same weathering I do for tanks LOL and it seemed to have worked..
very nice build, really love the battle damage that you added
+jean grieten thanks.. It was lot of fun to mess up that model
I think it turned out looking really great
Thanks matey
Nice useful trick with tape rolls! I’ll try that in my next build!
Thanks.. it does give a nice effect
Very entertaining and enjoyable. Great sense of humor.
+Jim Woodward thanks mate...it's the only sense of humour I have!
I have the same characteristics - some people just don't understand my "humorous darkside" LOL!
I like your humor and I like mine even though some do not understand but I consider them to be "Non-Thinkers!" LFLMAO
Shhh don't let on or they might realise we are way ahead of them... LOL
Nice build Harry. Looks the business mate
+Armour Empire Thanks... I was worried I went too much over the top..
Nice FOK Harry. ;) Love the mud and guk and bullet holes, but gee that canopy is just tooooo clean for her. No great canopy! By the way are those TV awards behind you? One looks like a little Oscar. :D
+Lynn Dippel There are some tiny mud flicks on the canopy but after it turned out so shiny and the masking looked so clean, I could hardly bear to splatter it with mud... I feel the mud is just thrown up by the wheels... hehe... the awards are from TV and Live Theatre.
Congrats on the awards. A little late but hey!!!
Good job mate
+jjab99 thanks mate I'm glad you like my dirty bird
its look really good!!
+Simon Kemp thanks mate... I had fun painting and weathering it
Great build, I live on the sunny coast so can you tell me where you got the aerosol pledge from.
Thanks.. I picked it up at IGA in Maleny... however there is an Auto wholesale place in Woombye who sell Future if you really want the stuff everyone goes on about.
Thanks for quick reply I'll check out Cooroy IGA and see if they have it. Cheers Doug Vowell aka pitbuilder.
No tiger shark?🤣

It was so long ago I forget the joke?
Great job! Looks awesome! Do you happen to still have the instruction sheets?
Thanks.. sorry I don’t have them anymore.. they were just photocopies because we bulk bought the kits in bags for our club. I will ask at our next club meeting if anyone has a copy.
Thanks very much! They are for a older friend of mine - got the kit off EBay but didn't come with instructions. A scanned PDF copy would work great also.
it looks nice,do you remember the nice old mauve p-40 kits?
+Manaritzis88 I have never built a P-40 before and this is my first prop WWII aircraft after returning to the hobby from a 40 year break. So sorry no have no memory of any mauve kits. I used to build Airfix Spitfires and Landcaster bombers as a kid but mostly I made battleships.
till 2003-4 the mauve was one of the very good P-40 kits and its still a good one. Keep going harry.
How would I go about to get into that club please tell me
+Karl Harvey if you live in Brisbane just look them up on the net.. Club meets every second Saturday of the month at Bullimba.
Wish I saw this video earlier would of saved me the pain I’m going through now.
Your right the kit is 💩💩💩
Interestingly the other fuselage supplied in the kit, I think it is the long one, fits a lot better. At least one of the club members who took that option had less problems.
