This is by far my favorite song by THaTH. And this version is the best, in my opinion. It stirs me inside.

Ever since I first laid eyes on you
I don't know what, I don't know what to do
I must be a fool to go out and chase you
But that's just what, that's just what I'll do
    I am, chasing a ghost
    I am, a fool
    Ooooooo
    Ooooooo, ooooo
    Ahhhahhh
Ever since, you packed up and walked away
All my skies have all turned to gray
    I am, chasing a ghost
    I am, a fool
I am, falling, falling for you
Ever since I first laid eyes on you

To reiterate what others have said, thank you to KEXP for providing this music. I often click on links of other bands that have appeared in your studio just as a way to find new and beautiful music. Keep doing what you're doing to make us on the other coast aware of all the good stuff the Pacific Northwest is churning out.

I love this song so much for such an odd reason. I used to be very religious (southern baptist) and this song sounds like so many of the songs we would sing, and I always loved this sort of acoustic style worship music. Over the years I've changed my beliefs and as nice as the christian music can sound I can't bear to listen to it. So this has that vocal & musical vibe that some of my favorite songs had without the religious themes.

You might like Neil Young or James Taylor for that reason. Also Simon & Garfunkel.

i've seen it go by both names
it's called ever since on their itunes sessions, but it's called chasing a ghost on their fuel/friends chapel sessions

All the same, at any unpredictable, unbidden (and terribly unwelcome) moment, everything can invert itself. Figure can become ground, and ground figure. Then, in your mind’s eye, what’s staring back at you as figure-hauntingly, horrifyingly-is how agonizingly alone you are in all this. Mercilessly, you’re bombarded by the stark realization that a love affair for one isn’t really a love affair at all. That the extraordinarily sweet feelings that have been so warmly enveloping you aren’t shared, aren’t mutual. Your rapturous and oh-so-intimate thoughts and fantasies of the beloved exist in a vacuum. And your continuing to “nurture” them-as figure-is simply rehearsing an illusion.
In a word, you perceive yourself to be a fool.
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward--And your continuing to “nurture” them-as figure-is simply rehearsing an illusion.
In a word, you perceive yourself to be a fool.

This is very similar to 'Forget Me Not' by The Civil Wars. Obviously the chord progression has been used for centuries now, i'm talking about the vocal patterns are similar. But its all good, this is still an amazing song, and i'm still jealous that i'm not in this band.

Either Charity and John are really feeling what they're feeling at the 50 second mark or its some really good theatre to add to the depth of the song
