This was after the G1 series in America, he joined N.W.A. and released his first single in 1989 but it was so good that it didn't get released on the radio. Soundwave now has a job of making beats for Drake and often thinks back to his past, wondering were he went wrong.

Soundwave is the greatest of all Transformers! Everybody knows it. Look at the guy's success rate! Even in a cartoon where the script demands that the Decepticons lose every episode, Soundwave still accomplishes every order Megatron gives.

Technically they are. Soundwave could be considered superior to Megatron only because he knows his place. He is easily Megatron's equal if not greater in terms of physical strength, and is equally intelligent. The reason why he follows Megatron rather than lead himself is because he understands that Megatron can provide what he can't. One could say that Megatron completes him.

For some reason, I believe Soundwave was going to be the original leader of the Decepticons before they decided to go with Megatron as the leader. His face resembles the Decepticon insignia.

If you pause at 0:22 sound wave has an autobot insignia on his breastplate. Nevertheless Drawing errors on G1 transformers animation is still classic to me.
The ONLY Soundwave I recognize, with this voice. There is no other that can compare.
Soundwave is my favorite transformer, and hands down the only Decepticon I have any respect for.

I wish it was Frank Welker! I did the Frank Welker "Dr. Claw" voice and processed it through a Vocoder program.
Eventually I'm going to get my hands on a Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus and do it authentically, but right now I've got a good secret recipe of programs that are producing good results for simulating the Soundwave voice.

i like both this and cobra commander turkey feast. I'd like to give a little pointer for if you do the soundwave character in the future: Record a voice almost like a breathy Dr Claw (inspector gadget) and mix it with the synthesizer voice or just use a non-total synthization of the dr claw voice and let a little more of the dr claw voice shine through at the end of words at the end of sentences, It would really improve the realism of the impersonation.

@Shokkur Well technically, I'm pretty sure they're using vocoder, which is different from autotune because you need to play through an instrument to produce the robotic sound. Autotune is a software program that (like the name implies) corrects pitches. For vocoder, the pitch is already pre-determined.
