I think it's just such a great, crazy situation but the premise is also realistic - everyone likes people based on their looks/ impression of them (which might not be entirely accurate), but then find someone whose personality is actually prefect for them.
One of my all time favourite feel-good movies - so warm, cozy and funny. Lucy's kindness and Callaghan's quirkiness are the perfect combination 😊 P.S. Bill Pullman's hair here is everything 😍

It was released in the middle of Judge Dredd, Braveheart, First Knight, Rob Roy, Demon Knight, The Mangler, Murder in the first and loads of other crap that wasn't worth seeing. I was 13 at the time and needless to say it was not a great year for movies, and this was a breath of fresh air. Best film of the year imo.

Disney Plus sent me here! I discovered this bittersweet movie just yesterday. The plot reminded me a little of the musical Dear Evan Hansen. Only with a more well earned redemptive ending.
After watching this movie for many times, I noticed something very funny.. It's when Jack asked Lucy how long she has known Peter. Lucy said 3 months and Jack (perpelexed) replied it was too soon to be engaged after knowing each other for a short time. Jack and Lucy only knew each other for like a week or so... and they got married in the end... 🤣🤣🤣

ah this was a hidden gem! Sandra is awesome. Bill Pullman is one of them "silent" actors as I call it. It means he may not appear much or is talked about but when he does do a movie, he is fantastic in all of them!! Casper was the first movie I fell in love with! Independence Day was awesome along with Lake Placid! Heck of an actor!!
Movie turns 25 today! Liked it a lot Ended up laughing in several spots That newspaper guy falling off his bike....no purpose but I’m glad it was very funny Bullock and Pullman are brilliant Shame Gallagher is asleep for most of this though

This trailer just makes it too obvious that her and the brother fall in love. I watched the trailer before watching the movie (I wish I didn’t) and already guessed just by watching the trailer that her and the guys brother would end up together. Such an amazing movie though I love it

WHAAAAT!, watched it just now? the movie came out in probably 1995. One of the best Christmas themed romance movie right there along with Sleepless in Seattle, Trapped in Paradise and You've Got Mail.
I just watched an old Cheers episode from 1982 with Glynis Johns and she played an old lady, Diane's mom. Then I watch this from 1995 and she's playing the old lady. Fyi she played the mom in Mary Poppins 1963. And she's still kickin today at 99yo almost 100! 👍😊
What I find funny about this movie is the sweet grandmother also plays the evil grandmother in another Christmas movie called "The Ref" which came out only a year earlier. You're going to hate her character in that one as much as you love her character in this one.

It was recived perfectly thanks. It made over 100 million and was totally predictable, and that doesn't matter in the slightest. No one reads as much as that in watching a trailer, most people think 'Oh that looks like a nice romantic comedy, let's go see it'. The marketing people clearly knew what they were doing.
