I'm so glad younger people are rediscovering the beautiful music of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Brazil! He has so many wonderful songs which are perfect for chorales! I don't believe the original "Olha pro Ceu" had any English lyrics subequently added on later, so kudos to you for your translation!
Creio que ela tenha sido composta primeiro em inglês, depois em português. Ela faz parte de uma série de composições feitas nos EUA, como "Wave" e "Triste", que fazem parte do álbum instrumental "Wave", de 1967, e lá estava "Look to The Sky" (pode perceber que não havia outro letrista na música), foi o próprio Tom que escreveu em inglês a letra. Que só não veio fazer sucesso na época por causa das sombras de Wave e Triste, ambas também gravadas por Frank Sinatra, álbum Sinatra-Jobim, de 1969, que foi cancelado sua venda pelo próprio Sinatra. Hoje faz parte da coletânea Sinatra-Jobim, CD que contém os dois álbuns. Anteriormente, havia sido lançado incompleto no Lp álbum duplo Sinatra-Jobim Sessions, gravadora Forma de Roberto Quartin, em 1979.

Why lip sync it kids, kids, when you could obviously perform this live?
This was made during pandemic restrictions, and singing together wasn't allowed. The music was recorded virtually. We shot the vid outside (notice the distancing) so we could temporarily remove our masks.
