Hi Francisco, I'm glad you could do it now. The summer has finally arrived here and I enjoy it very much. (That's why i'm having a break with posting new tutorials...) I hope you are enjoying summer as well, but on the other hand, you have summer all year in Brazil :-)) Kind regards, Peter
Francisco, what version of Modo do you have ? Being able to copy edges is as far as i know only possible with Modo 701. This might be your problem. You can get around this, by making a curve out of the edge first, and then copy the curve to the new mesh. See my first spiral video on how to do this. Kind regards, Peter
601 is my way when I learn more I can move to 701 when teachers like you, say to be better. I'm doing well with their turoriais. Thank you for your help.
Hi Carolina, thanks for pointing this out to me. Looks very interesting. There is such a lot of good stuff out there in modo land :-)) All the best, Peter
Hi Peter. I tried but failed. This tool only works with pipes created with "Curve Extrude". How sad. I found it here too these scripts to streamline our work. community.thefoundry.co.uk/discussion/topic.aspx?f=119&t=83603&page=0 Thank you.
Peter, I now have the MODO701, and I could finish this video.'s Perfect congratulations once again for a job that helps so many people. A good summer for you ...
Hi Francisco, as I already mentioned, you can create a real curve from any edges. Then you can also copy it into a new mesh. Have a look at my first spirals video where i convert spiral edges into a spiral curve.
hi peter, can you share those amazing spiral shapes models via dropbox? I can use them as light fixture shapes! or can you do more spiral shapes?! thanks. I study and follow along many of your videos! great helps.
musicchu Hmmm.. i am sorry, but i usually delete my tutorials after i have uploaded the videos. So you have to do it yourself. Sorry and all the best, Peter
Thanks for the quick reply, Unfortunately I did not think how. After Ctrl + C to copy them new Mesch, Ctrl + V. Poliygons ,Vertex and I can see. . Edges But not aparece.Poderia be alguama MODE setting? Could not solve the problem. Polygons and Vertex are visible after the Ctrl + V. Edges are not visible. If I switch to vertces they appear. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank You
Hmmm .. okies do this: 1) CTRL-N to start a new scene, 2) Goto Basic Tab, CTRL-Left Click on Cube, 3) Press'2 to go to edge mode, 4) Use Middle mouse button and select all the edges of the cube, CTRL-C (copy) N (new mesh) CTRL-V (paste into new mesh), now click on the eye of the mesh you copied from and you see the edges.. If not, then I'm afraid I can't help anymore ... Good luck and kind regards, Peter
I forgot to mention that in the video. If you make a nice looking shape with spirals, then this can be a neat object to play around with the retopology tools.
Your videos are incredible.'m New in this tutorial MODE and when I do Ctrl + C to copy them in another Mesh the edges are not visible. Could you help me figure out my mistake? grateful kiko sculptor
