I think for me Sandra from 34 is up there for me. Yes she got voted out pre merge. But she dominated so hard. She had the biggest pregame target as the only 2 times winner. She completly dominated her tribe and got screwed so hard by a tribe swap. She played imo her best game she ever did in 34.
I actually think somehow her GC game is somehow her best showing. She didnt give AF in GC. She knew she was dead man walking and gave the fans everything and more. Queen stays Queen. She won twice. Had nothing to prove. And I had a blast watching it.
if there wasn’t a second swap she easily makes the merge and that’s insanely impressive because she dominated 2 different tribes. I really like that pick
Sherri from Caramoan is an interesting pre-merge. As the oldest woman on her tribe she is statistically in danger of being an early target but manages to identify a four person alliance and unite the other six members of her tribe to combat that. They split the votes at the final 9 of their tribe 3-3-3 to avoid a potential idol. She kept good relationships with her alilance. She was fluid and willing to work with the minority to keep the tribe strong. Even though it didn't work out I think it was a good idea. Then at the swap she successfully integrates herself with the Favorites who were guarenteed the majority going into the merge.
Honorable Mention: Richard Hatch, established the rules for pre-merge alliances, psychological control on the tribe and remove players not beneficial to his game.
Imo i always thought Russell. S was someone who was not that integrated into his tribe throughout the pre-merge and say if they went more often to tribal he may be a pre-merge boot possibly after shambo, and maybe monica, then again you're right the reason he didn't go to many pre-merge tribals was cuz he was a good leader compared to the other tribe which had Russell Hantz making it hell for them. Love the vids!
i disagree cuz in every scenario genie is taken further than shan, and at least she had an argument not to be taken out over ricard. he helped her a lot more than genie would have, even if he was also part of her demise
@@user-bl7uc1dx6p that’s a fair point and pretty good look at some things I didn’t consider, I’d say Shan’s real weakness as player came from her unwillingness to take out Ricard leading to Danny and Deshawn making an all time bad move by flipping
If Ricard is out then Sydney wins that individual immunity, there's no target to split on other than Evvie and then Genie is likely mergatory boot making Shan even more of a target as the sole Ua
@@XanderMatthews-nv9zf True I see that! Although with Sydney still in the picture I wonder who Danny and Deshawn go forward with? I think Heather and Erika would be out early-mid merge. Butterfly effect for sure
So my problem with shan is she had less control than Denise over the pre-merge. She had no control over the Abraham and Voce votes because they weren't her tribe. Yes she was the swing vote but Sara was Brad. So that leaves Brad, JD and Gene
obviously she didn’t have control over the votes that weren’t on her tribe… this applies to literally everyone ever. this isn’t a valid way to discredit her.
@@roypalmer69 I'll answer in specific and in general. Both the people you listed are good pre-merges, with a couple little caveats: Hatch had a good pre-merge, but it was a little dicey at points. The first vote in particular was one where he did not decide the vote out, and he had to play rather defensively to keep from being the first boot (though his throwaway was a great vote). There's also the... let's say allegations that production intervened to help keep Rudy because they did not want the three oldest cast members to leave in a row. John Carroll if anything had a much more solid dominant position, at the head of the dominant tribe's alliances. At the same time, that alliance was tested for exactly one vote pre-merge. It is nice to be the beneficiary of a dominant tribe, but if we're looking for pre-merge all stars, we need to see people who survived when a lesser player may not have. There's a reason Deshawn and Pete Yurkowsi aren't on this list. As for why Shan, Denise, and Steph are there, well, a lot is due to their survival and tact. Compared to Hatch and Carroll and so many others, they had more opportunities to go home, more danger to face, and thus had to use more skill and finesse to glide past those rounds.
@@aronpuma5962 lol that's what I was trying to explain with my question haha that is why Denise should be above Shan. Btw just to have fun with numbers because of the Gabe and Rob votes, and John was in charge of them that means even through he went to two tribal councils he is only one tribal away from the same number as Shan THE NUMBER TWO PERSON IN THIS VIDEO. Through technically they both had 7 possible to control. Sydney is the weird where you could make a defense that it doesn't count as premerge.
@@roypalmer69 Personally I count mergatory as the merge, as well as rounds where there are jurors pre merge (is, Boston Rob in Marquasis is the merge boot. He goes out after they merge) Anyways it just comes down to how you value their games, like for me Marcus would not be on this list because he was immune at the two pre merge tribal councils he had before he was voted out at the end of the pre merge (Gabon is a weird season). He's definitely below Hatch and Carrol to me for that.

She so underrated
Sherri is the hill I will die on
Even Merian has stated that if Marcus had survived the tribal he goes home he 100% wins Gabon. He was essentially one vote away from winning the game.

Kellee from 39 had an incredible pre merge game. Shame she had to go through what she did, and that she was robbed.

danny massa gotta be here
idk if u just missed it but rob in redemption island also won?
he was an honorable mention so I didn’t include him at the end when pulling the statistics
