Smash Badger I have a question are the yellow things on the map main missions to complete the story or side missions ? Also does it matter what order I go in ?
Jose Urrutia yes yellow markers are main missions. It doesn’t matter what order you go in you do the main missions, although I recommend you keep an eye out and do the missable ones that lead to a trophy.
Same here. I'm 12 hours in and still can not work out how to clean my weapon even though I bought cleaning oil in the shop and still can't work out how to pack Arthurs cloths on the horse's saddle
PewDiePie703 Thanks it was driving me crazy. just found out how to store outfits in your saddle bag .. there is an option when you open your trunk in the camp, to store on horse
@stephen hoy pretty sure yellow doesn't mean running low. My ammo icon turns from white to yellow when I restock it. Yellow on health and stamina icons means fortified, not running low.
“Let’s talk about fast travel, this is a massive game and you’re going to need it” challenge accepted! Me and roach 2.0 the teleporting demon horse will ride the whole game
Horseshoe is my favorite camp. It looks peaceful, it's got a great view, just great. I also started thinking about how each camp "represents" something. Colter is cold and empty. Horseshoe is like "going downhill." Clemens is "drowning". Belle is fog, pestilence. Hollow is death. Maybe they don't represent anything, but it's something I like to think about, especially after realizing how each camp gets darker.
Doing Chores at camp will also increase you Deadeye Core. Mine has gone up a lot after starting to do chores. The members at camp are also jerks, they will scold you if you are wanted. "One guy asked if I was the one who was running around killing people." another scolded me for killing animals. For FkS sake, I'm feeding them with deer, and they are complaining.
Don't waste your time and money upgrading the Camp. They ask you to restock items like ammo for 60 dollars but they don't give you 60 dollars worth of ammo!! It just cost a few dollars to stock up at a store. All other camp upgrades screw you the same way. For that matter Fast Travel is NOT worth it - your horse won't follow you. Just Cinematic view travel to a waypoint to fast travel. Just upgrade your satchel and other items needed like the leather tools and stop there.
Joelster G4K i’ve found that if you hold triangle then you can chose to make a small camp (in the wilderness only) and then can cook and eat game. hope this helps.
Aye I agree, I'm a fallout on survival kinda guy. So it's only fitting to play this game the same way unless I'm too drunk to steer my horse properly without killing it

Ik bro. Back then, independence was a must! U couldn't just sleep on someone's couch if u didn't have your own place. You had to work hard and build your own home, and take care of your parents when they got old. You helped and received help from your neighbors, and everyone pitched in to grow the community. These days, it's all about drugs, sex, and mumble rap. If you work hard, you end up barely scraping enough change at the end of the week to get enough gas to get to work, but if u want to be lazy, the government will reward you with a free disability check, tons of food, and even pay your bills! Man oh man, how the times have changed.. There is no responsibility these days..
hunt with bow. upgrade camp. ride the train around the entire map. avoid bounties at all cost they get expensive and prevent you from doing some missions. thats my advice. oh and loot every body because finding $2 on a dead man is a lot easier than collecting and selling multiple pelts.
yang mills hunting with a bow isn’t actually the best choice all the time you have to do research on the animal to know what weapons like rabbits small game arrows and you’re varmint rifle will give better pelt quality then a regular bow arrow
@@IMTHATN1NJA yes I use varmint rifle for all small game. Selling carriages is the fastest way I found to make money. $40 each and I don't think there is a cool down but there might be. U just have to ignore the $300 bounty.

Also I haven’t had any cooldowns for it and did like 10 in a row but depending which ones you get determines how much you get $40 is more high end but some sell for only $15 either way it’s the fastest if you don’t mind being dishonorable

Howdy partner, You don't have to bring him the carcass… when you donate to him, all your items (including your carcasses on your horse) will be in your inventory when donating. it will just disapear from your horse after you donated it (carcass) the pelts he will safe for you and any other crafting stuff you bring him.. you can use them to do crafting upgrades at the butcher. so no need to keep everything on you… (you take care of the camp, they will help you).
I just mustered the money I needed to upgrade Arthur's tent for fast travel, but after a certain mission, I have a 300$ Bounty on my head... bull crap. lol
"You're going to need fast travel".... Yeah, not the way I'm playing this game. Yesterday, I spent 4 hours of real time and all I did was wake up in the camp, get a coffee, sit down by the cliff, read, drink, have a smoke, then I went exploring a bit, did a bit of hunting, and had a bath in town. Doubt I'll even touch the fast travel at all.
hanging around the camp is interesting, theres all kinds of conversations and the occasional random heist pops up now and again to make money from, i suggest you all play this game slowly, if you just hammering the story missions like i did first time around, you miss all sorts of content.
Easy way to get cash is doing treasure maps and looking for Gold Bars. I think there are 12-14 Gold Bars, I don’t remember cause I didn’t cash out all of it. But I think I just cashed out $4K and it’s all I needed. But all weapons, clothes, upgraded weapons and camp. The other way is just killing people and robbing them when they’re dead. Don’t forget storyline is to kill them and search the dead bodies. You’ll get a lot of belt buckles, watches, health potions. And turn around sell them. The Donation box, it’s better to donate items and keep cash. But at least keep 1 item. Try to keep what’s needed for trinkets. Trinkets will give you perks or increase your stats. Very helpful in the game. Increase your moral by Greeting people in the camps or in the towns. Doing chores and also donating money. I think it’s every $11 you donate will increase your moral to good. If you have Max Moral to Good, you will save 10% at all the merchants. Later in the game, you do a side mission for the St Denis Governor. If you kill somebody and dispose the Body the reward is 25% at St Denis. So you can have a total of 35% off at St Denis. Which is really good. Buy all Clothes, Weapons, weapon upgrades, haircuts, potions, all the cigarettes, bullets and also trinkets there too. Good luck.
Is there any way to donate cigarettes? I have too many of them, and I'm smoking them to drop the number, but it kills my energy, and I think my guy is getting addicted.
I've been avoiding Dutch's camp mission and I completely missed out on the ledger! You get a like from me. And a sub. And a click on that bell thing. Very helpful info!
Apparently Im missing something.. how do I upgrade? I thought just going by the tents would trigger an action. Do I need to look in this ledger hes talking about?
One of my favorites things about the camp is when food or meds is low the camp people talks to you different like Jack told me he was really hungry because food was in red so I spent 900 dollars on camp supplies lol
I’m not sure about bathing but I did discover how to wash clothes. You’re supposed to do it at least once a month according to the paper I found. For soap- combine wood ashes and animal fat over a flame. I have yet to actually do it but I thought that was an interesting find.
I actually watched the video to see what kind of penaties you get for not doing anything with the camp. Don't need fast travel and have food and ammo enough for myself... so why bother? Unfortunately the video does not answer if there is a downside of not doing anything of that sort.
Honestly when i started this game about 2 weeks ago, i heard lots of ppl say to donate to the camp, do the chores etc, but somewhere around 4 days ago I spoiled myself and currently just started chapter 3 and wondering if its worth donating to the camp? After chapter 6 we all know what happens...
I killed a deer a brought it back to the camp...Skinned it...Buuuuuut...Now what? Do I bring it to the butcher or do I just donate the meat in my inventory?
@Levis. H Do I give him the deer? And if so...Where do I put it? When I drop it on the ground I spawn somewhere on the other side of the camp to put it down.
@@TheCrappyRobot so i found out that if you have a mission going on, that you can Not give the meat to the butcher!so first end the mission you have! :) hope it helps
I have the same problem, can you tell me how to donate the meat? When i approach the butcher, i get two options that is craft upgrades and donate. Under donate ,there's no option to donate the carcass. And I'm not doing any mission.
Didn't realize that the horse station was a handy as it is - allows you to recall any of the horses you have in stables directly to camp without travel.
what is stupid is the fact you have to share your money with the gang after a lot of missions and yet they never put anything or hardly anything in the camp funds
Guys one thing to remember is that if you donate animal meat to Pearson for provisions. Dont go on a big hunt and donate it all at once, Usually at least 2 pieces of meat can turn the provision box white. If you do it all at once it will run out a few days later. However if you slowly give meat whenever the box turns red, it will last much more longer.

Since no one seems to know this the reason u Can tear down camo is so u can set a new one you can fast trsvel to 1 camp at a time anywhere its placed from the fast travel map at basecamp
To access the ledger so that you can upgrade the base camp you need to do a mission where you collect debts that are owed to the gang, after the first mission you'll be able to access the ledger and do the necessary upgrades, the video didn't mention this part....to sell the gold bars.... the only fence I've been able to find is in Saint Denis you can take a train there even though you've never been there before.
Me too and it's because I was an idiot and forgot to put my mask on before robbing a random train, and then a couple times I pressed the wrong button and shot my gun off in the middle of town. The controls kind of suck...
psycold The bandana literally does nothing, you'll still get a bounty even if you use it. Basically robbing a train or a store is pointless cause you just get a bounty on your head that is higher than the profit from the robbery
Just getting into it in chapter 2 on PC since it was just released a couple of weeks ago. I sure as hell wish I had more time to play it, it's pretty fantastic, but takes sooo much time to accomplish anything significant and find and experience everything - but that's ok too since it reminds me of Morrowind back in the day, in that sense, and that's so rare these days.
Yeah it’s a beautiful and awesome game. I personally waited till Christmas break since I’m in highschool so I could play 7-8 hours a day and it totally worth it 🤠

They already did...almost 2 decades ago. "Thrasher Presents Skate and Destroy" was released in 1999 on PS1. It was a pretty awesome game for its time too!
All these walkthroughs and lets plays complain and stress the fact that u need fast travel asap...i disagree. Get out there and get lost in the world, thats what makes it an adventure...i was playing a lil bit ago and was stranded in the swamp coz my horse ran and i got attacked in the middle of knowhere by some swamp people. Its moments like these you miss out on when u just fast travel all over the place imo.

@@leo-io5vg I am socially pretty liberal, but their fiscal goals are unrealistic and destructive. The camp on Red Dead is, in my opinion, the only venue that i could see communism working, that's what it was originally intended for, a small community or city, not a whole nation. @@lukesecrest8859 Sweden is a democractic monarchy, they are far from a socialist country.. Yeah oil embargoes played a role in it, but not as much as you would think.
The only problem I have with rdr2 is that looting the bodies is op. If you loot every body you find you don't need to buy or get medicine, ammo andfood from the camp so there's no need to upgrade the stations.
The camp... is bad design.. Think about it! You are NOT the leader, but only you AND ONLY YOU can keep up the supplies. IT's not a respite, it's a damn ball and chain... Wanna go explore for days to end? Can't! Camp needs supplies! Wanna... CAN'T CAMP NEEDS SUPPLIES! Can someone else get supplies?... Of course not... they are npcs! Can I get rid of the camp and just adventure?... NO! CAMP NEEDS YOU! .. it's like bloody preston garvey from fallout 4 again. This is bothersome....
You think so? I tend to stay from doing main missions just so I can explore/hunt and gather supplies, do a couple bounty hunts and racking up cash becomes easy. I get what you mean, it is weird that you are the only one that contributes but it hasn't been an issue for me.
You don't need to keep supplies up.. it doesn't affect your gameplay but apparently affects the camps mood.. the camp still functions with out you doing all that.. so obviously you're meant to assume someone else is also doing these things but only the bare minimum.. I think arthur is in charge of the ledge funds too, he chooses what camp needs most and you can buy all the supplies in there for cheap enough.. if you wanna keep the camp's morale up.

"Savor a steak" Love the analogy!
I was surprised at how the game take some time getting used too.
Same here dude
Yeah, they tell you how to clean your gun at some point, but they are not very clear on how to store clothes.
ok but how do you take care of the red cores in the camp?? do i need to bring deer to the butcher? how do i take care of those
Thanks for not explaining what the supplies red, yellow, and white colors mean....
Kyle G red means it isn’t upgraded or not stocked white means stocked
And gold I’m guessing is super stocked or fully upgraded or something
@stephen hoy pretty sure yellow doesn't mean running low. My ammo icon turns from white to yellow when I restock it. Yellow on health and stamina icons means fortified, not running low.
Thanks my dude that was the only Information i wanted from this Video
Red is danger! Red bad :-( yellow is warning! White is good!

I was, quite literally, about to type "red dead camp tips" in RUclips and I see this in my subs. Thanks Eurogamer.
Fish Zom if youre killing animals but not skinning them and killing innocent folks uneccesarily , you will indeed seem like an asshole.
That never happened to me. Perhaps you had low honor?
You are literally the most polite sounding narrator on RUclips I have heard. Subscribed for that reason
My only complaint with camp is you don’t get some kind of “Home Sweet Home” award for fully upgrading the camp.
I dont even know where to take a chicken in the camp so I can eat it, this game is too realistic lol.
Joelster G4K i’ve found that if you hold triangle then you can chose to make a small camp (in the wilderness only) and then can cook and eat game. hope this helps.

I be busting the tables in gambling to. Also the bounties are pretty cool
yang mills hunting with a bow isn’t actually the best choice all the time you have to do research on the animal to know what weapons like rabbits small game arrows and you’re varmint rifle will give better pelt quality then a regular bow arrow

HELP
You mean "Pomade hair"? Not persuade hair lol
I'm a Dapper Dan man!
The pomade persuades the hair to stay in place.
There's a bath at the camp?....WHERE!?
No idea, I want to know too!!!
He’s full of shit it’s in Valentine not at the camp
U have to go to a hotel in one of the towns
You need to upgrade it, check the ledger. I have a small tin tub at the camp to bathe.
@@MenacingRabbit where is it? I Have all the upgrades, I don't see a tub anywhere.
Every primium pack has a collectible card in it,so i suggest to discard them every time

I just started a few weeks ago on ps4 and at first I didnt like it but oushed thru and now im really enjoying it.
Currently downloading after initially promising myself I'd wait to get this game.. So excited, and now I can't stop watching videos on it!
I’m not sure about bathing but I did discover how to wash clothes. You’re supposed to do it at least once a month according to the paper I found. For soap- combine wood ashes and animal fat over a flame. I have yet to actually do it but I thought that was an interesting find.
Shout out anyone still on chapters 2-3 since launch day! 🙌🏻
Can you cancel the camp?
I actually watched the video to see what kind of penaties you get for not doing anything with the camp. Don't need fast travel and have food and ammo enough for myself... so why bother? Unfortunately the video does not answer if there is a downside of not doing anything of that sort.
Honestly when i started this game about 2 weeks ago, i heard lots of ppl say to donate to the camp, do the chores etc, but somewhere around 4 days ago I spoiled myself and currently just started chapter 3 and wondering if its worth donating to the camp? After chapter 6 we all know what happens...
I think it’s worth it to donate to the camp tbh.

Soham Syed You have to hold the deer and press the donate option. It’ll bring up the menu and you should be able to donate the whole carcass
Didn't realize that the horse station was a handy as it is - allows you to recall any of the horses you have in stables directly to camp without travel.
does it?
Anyone else refusing to shave their beard the entire game? My Arthur’s beard is becoming glorious.
Damn Right!
what is stupid is the fact you have to share your money with the gang after a lot of missions and yet they never put anything or hardly anything in the camp funds
"Persuade hair?" What game were you playing?
Guys one thing to remember is that if you donate animal meat to Pearson for provisions. Dont go on a big hunt and donate it all at once, Usually at least 2 pieces of meat can turn the provision box white. If you do it all at once it will run out a few days later. However if you slowly give meat whenever the box turns red, it will last much more longer.
You clearly have us confused with people not covered head to toe in guns with a large world similarly filled with delicious targets.

It's how it's suppose to be. As you progress through the storyline they come back
To access the ledger so that you can upgrade the base camp you need to do a mission where you collect debts that are owed to the gang, after the first mission you'll be able to access the ledger and do the necessary upgrades, the video didn't mention this part....to sell the gold bars.... the only fence I've been able to find is in Saint Denis you can take a train there even though you've never been there before.

I still haven't found the ledger. Where is it at camp, or does it unlock after a mission?
Just getting into it in chapter 2 on PC since it was just released a couple of weeks ago. I sure as hell wish I had more time to play it, it's pretty fantastic, but takes sooo much time to accomplish anything significant and find and experience everything - but that's ok too since it reminds me of Morrowind back in the day, in that sense, and that's so rare these days.

It's the only semi-viable form of communism. It kind of works with a small group, but you still have to worry about ego and selfishness, which is why I can't hop on the socialist bandwagon.
One of many reasons why it doesn't work
@@leo-io5vg I am socially pretty liberal, but their fiscal goals are unrealistic and destructive. Where is the ledger to upgrade the camp ? Do i have to do a few missions before it unlocks ? Thanks
The only problem I have with rdr2 is that looting the bodies is op. If you loot every body you find you don't need to buy or get medicine, ammo andfood from the camp so there's no need to upgrade the stations.
Any perks to upgrading it then?
The camp... is bad design..
I get what you mean, it is weird that you are the only one that contributes but it hasn't been an issue for me.
i wondered around for days (in game) without returning to the camp. sure they're low on supplies but it hasn't affected me in any way
I've been told that the more you contribute the more likely others will as well
I upgraded dutchs camp and it said that people will contribute more.
No you can not take a bath/wash at camp. I go the near by river and swim. Rates you as clean and raises stamina.
