I enjoy watching Giorgi play. A great ball-striker when she is on her game. However, too many times I've seen her win the first set and then lose in 3. Excellent closing out of a dangerous opponent (for this tournament, at least). It was also entertaining to see Giorgi show her anger and frustration at the end of that first set just before the tie-breaker.
David Min She just needs to add some variety to her game IMO.
Giorgi is so introspective that she barely waved and thanked the crowd.

It is impossible, having seen the match, to not understand Giorgi's nervousness at 4:47.
She is always very calm but the point was very important and her anger in that circumstance is normal. I'm happy because usually after such situations it would have been nervous and would have lost the match. Instead, she remained focused and sent the baby home.
Exactly. It was a completely lucky shot by her opponent, and that bothered her (because McNally got lucky a couple of times before that as well).

Many comments about looks and personality on / off the court, however to talk just about the tennis itself for a minute, I thought it was a real battle, with Georgi hitting the ball so hard. Some comments like why doesnt she lob; yes, the lob can be a brilliant shot when executed at a good time. No question about that. But equally, if you have ground strokes as hard as Georgi, she is used to going up the line, cross court, or even THROUGH an opponent, given how hard she can hit them.
I'm a fan of her tennis, sure, and I hope she does well, goes further, and can show the world some power hitting, which I enjoy to watch the style of.

4:47 I had to do a double take. Giorgi hardly ever shows any emotion on court. She must have been really pissed to smash racquet like that.

It's pretty insane how good looking she is.
So glad that Giogi made it to the finals. I wonder why she doesn't incorporate more lobs or drop shots in her arsenal. She could have won more points by lobbing when McNally approached the net (example 2:07)
Okay, where to begin?
Giorgi throwing a racket? What a day to be alive! Her game has always been spectacular but it looks like she has become more stable and controlled lately and for her, that is maybe the only thing she lacked.
McNally is nothing special to me. She is good, but I did not see any special potential in her. On the other hand, I think she can be very successful in doubles. Not that she has magical touch like Hsieh or Niculescu but she showed real natural confidence at the net and her volleys and the other shots are perfectly enough for doing great in doubles if she chooses to take that tennis category seriously.
P.S. Imagine Kyrgios and Giorgi to team up for some Grand Slam. The weirdest combination I can think of. If everything goes their way, they could win the title without dropping a game in the entire competition.
Camila Giorgi never plays doubles....so you will never see her play with Kyrgios nor anyone else

@@uroskuzmanovic1325 well...I can see the intrigue with the looks and everything, but I don't think they would win anything "without dropping a game" as you were saying....on the contrary I think that they wouldn't win a single game just because Camila is not a double player, and wouldn't even know how to position herself on the court.
Camila is just a lone wolf, a player who just play for herself, and to be honest that's exactly how I like to see her. I just wish that she would win more matches and tournaments so to fulfill her huge tennis potentials.

C McNally is very talented. She's good at net but against players like CG she will need to select her moments better.

Why did McNally get a wild card while Coco who made it to Wimbledon fourth round after going through the qualifying rounds had to qualify?
Wta rules are players who are younger than 16 I think arent allowed to be given wild cards to main drwas

I get being frustrated, but I can't stand racquet smashing. It looks so childish. That said, Giorgi looked good out there.

Giorgi is a very hard hitter.but i think she should use also slices and drop shots to her game.she is very predictable!

Giorgi hasn't been on the tour much this year. Prior to this week hadn't won a match since January. She's not very well liked by players. Comes across very arrogant sometimes
She's been sidelined for most of the season for a wrist injury. Camila is not arrogant...she's just very shy and reserved.
