What a song and vocalists that these guys are very few and far between nowadays! These tracks just make you listen and stir up so much emotion! Fabulous song....I love it, thanks for sharing xx
This song reminds me of my mother each time I here it played. February 27, 2014 she went to be with the Lord snd it still seems like she just left us. I don't think I'll ever be complete without her love to give me support.
My mother passed the year after yours and I am sorry for your loss. As long as you have the memories of your mother as I do, you still have her love and support. When you get to a crossroad, think about what she would say and follow that leading. That is her love and support. With prayer and supplication, the pain of my mom’s loss has eased. Ironically the year this song was recorded by the Flamingos is the year my parents got married, 1959.

I agree, but they had a lot of beautiful ballad's, in their discography, and so did a lot of the other groups of the era, but the thing that differentiate, the Flamingos, from other groups, was the echo chamber effect, to their sound... Check it out...

Yes, American Bandstand with Dick Clark...he was such a wonderful man; he was in his 30s, yet he connected with the kids, always saw a lot of good in youngsters, he was in a way, like a positive teacher...
@@sbchelldiver You need to do a little more research on Dick Clark. You could listen to what the bandstand "Regulars of Philadelphia" , before he moved the show to Ca., have to say about Dick. There are a number of interviews on You Tube.
Forever hauntingly beautiful. ❤
This is one of the greatest songs ever made by the Flamingos! Totally stands out on its own! Haunting.
Yep I totally agree with you
This song - this version - has been "our song" for as long as I can remember. Today we celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. Thank you, Flamingos!
Hello there
This song is so unique and you can put it in any movie from any era and it will still sound right. The soulful lead vocal is a thing of beauty, so captivating that few singers can match it
Haunting...beautiful and AMAZING!
One of the most beautiful melodies ever !!!🎩🗝🎶🙏🏼💵
Super Song. This is straight from a better World....a World that should be.
One person said it best: "Otherworldly."
Vincit Omnia seriously! I first heard it after finding it in my grandmother’s belongings (she had just passed). It was on a compilation album. I was 15 and man...did it take me somewhere else. That was back in ‘98 and it still sends me somewhere else.
Man, what is it about this song, and the video that is so hauntingly beautiful? It stays with you. This is a good example of raising the bar from ordinary to magical, great job Flamingos, thank you for your contribution with this gorgeous song.
There's a story about this song somewhere on the internet where he says how he came up with this hauntingly beautiful version is that it was given to him by the angels and yes I certainly do believe him ... how about you ?
Amen
Yesss❤😊
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. This song is a timeless classic. Its 2022 and people are still listening to it.
I’m here in 2023 I’m 17 but I’ve been listening to this song for a WHILE
What a terrific clip. This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. "Sh Bop Sh Bop....Sh Bop Sh Bop"..beautiful...still gives me chills listening to that and I'm a 61 yr old guy. Has there ever been a better song for slow dancing together? I don't think so!
Behind My Girl,This is the best song ever made. I remember my mother singing this song to me back in 1959. Every time I hear or play it I think of her. Be seeing you soon ma.
No Theres never Been a Vetter one i Hear IT round and round

@@janicelathon3531 You were very blessed to have been a teenager when this romantic song came out ... my Ex was also about 14 when this song came out ... he was considerably older than me and I was about a year old , but love this song from the first time i heard it when i was about 3 or 4.
that one commercial with the senior couple dancing bring tears
and brought me here :)
Used in the movie ' The Right Stuff' in a great scene.
I first discovered this song when I was 17 in '86. Still love this song and imo its one of the most beautifully sung songs. A great song stands the test of time!!!
I first discovered it when I was a little girl maybe three or four years old when it was played in my house and now I'm 63 and still love it
if this comment even means anything after 9 years and i am currently 17 and it’s 2023 and i am in love with thins song 😖⭐️
Such a Romantic Song...Thank You
This brings back my teen years & Special Dates memories.
A song that makes you want to fall in love….so soft and beautiful….remember dancing to this on American Bandstand - Bunny Gibson - AB Regular
Bunny Gibson You’re so lucky to have lived through and experienced firsthand the zenith of America’s history, Bunny- and been part of America’s cultural advent to the top of the world. Kudos to you
Hi
Never gets old it’s mesmerizing 🌺
Absolutely love this song !! Fantastic singers!! Great memories ❤
Such a beautiful song 😍🥰 I get teary eyed every time I hear it 🥲
Simply one of the best songs... Done by one of the most incredible vocal groups of that era...
What happen to when this beautiful song would play on the only station on radio..those were the days my friends..thank God for RUclips where we can take a blissful trip to then, to listen and dream of yesterday and how simple life was back then, when music was real, by fabulous artists like these..❤💋❤
Just as dreamy today as it ever was!
The man is so gosh darn in love he doesn’t know where the hell he is 😂 I love this song
Yup! This is the best rendition of this song. I love the way The Flamingos sing it. It was played on the set of "The Wonder Years" in which I was an extra and danced to it. Thanks for the memories.
Lucky you! I'm 45 and I loved the show. I was in the 6th grade like Kevin, Paul and Winnie. If I'm not mistaken, they played this in the episode in which Kevin had the crush on the teacher.
Yall did a great job with the show.
Minor chord arrangement will put you in a dream-like trance! one of the greatest songs of all time!!!
What a song and vocalists that these guys are very few and far between nowadays! These tracks just make you listen and stir up so much emotion! Fabulous song....I love it, thanks for sharing xx
This song has always been so mesmerizing. I remembered hearing that many, many years ago.
Truly one of the best "doo wop" songs ever recorded! And what a handsome group of guys!!! Love it!
Ironically the year this song was recorded by the Flamingos is the year my parents got married, 1959.
....I envy all those who enjoyed these classics, am only 34 and deejay part time... I must say that these songs are just AWESOME, REAL FEEL AND STRAIGHT TO THE HEART..... NICE
TIME STANDS STILL WHEN ONE HEARS THIS FROM THEIR YOUTH!!!AMAZINGLY CLASSIC CREATION ❤️
Thank you For your gift of song..beautifully done.
Beautifully romantic and so good for slow together dancing. A true CLASSIC.
One of the all time best slow jams. I wish I lived this era. So much good music
Doesn't get any better than this.
💜I agree👑
I'll say Kathy!
Yes it does you ever heard Gucci gang
@@BW1875 so you're also a man of culture I see??
All these years in and still so very, very beautiful ❤
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. Many might have made it before but very few groups could deliver it with such smooth, easy, romantically trance-like vocalized harmony. Thanks for posting!
I agree, but they had a lot of beautiful ballad's, in their discography, and so did a lot of the other groups of the era, but the thing that differentiate, the Flamingos, from other groups, was the echo chamber effect, to their sound... Check it out...
@@georgeroyal5860 Very True!
One of the greatest songs ever, the phrasing, timing , lyirics, vocals, sweeeeet!
Doo bob cha bop---- SO great!!! My dad had this 8 track and I listened to it every day......
Timeless Classic song no matter when you grew up 🙏🙌🙌🇺🇸
I cannot put into words why but the most haunting & beautiful song ever created…
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.
One of the greatest songs I've had the pleasure to hear in my life..Awesome 👌
I’m so in love with this song after my daughter’s dance studio did a duet to this song!!!
Sent this song to now my wife on a cd to show my love for her, 14 years later we are still together Thanks
My Grandpa loved this song. He showed it to me as a kid and I've loved in ever since.
Yep , i heard my parents playing this when i was maybe 3 or 4 years old and loved it the very first time i heard it .
Another old one you might like and I don't know if it was sung by the flamingo's but I think it was sung by The Platters was called Red Sails in the Sunset and you might like that .
Another one you might like and it's from maybe around 1965 is the James Bond song You Only Live Twice as sung by Nancy Sinatra
This arrangement is pure genius! Listening to it is being on(or in)a Heavenly cloud
Such a timeless beauty ❤❤
Those cats were lit. What a Blessing. Beautiful.
My family were friends with them in the late 60’s in Ft. Lauderdale. We would all go deep sea fishing and then come home and cook. We would all eat and dance. They were the nicest and kindest of men. Great memories.
This was the ultimate slow jam of the 50's!! Let's argue!!
Put this on and watch your grandparents start making out
Lmao
Put this on when your significant other aint expecting it ie making up, anniversary, first date, or just because etc and watch what happens. Trust me and i aint that old but it works errr time
And in some cases your great grandparents!
Yum
Grandparents, yeah, maybe. Greatgrandpa (me)…..nah, not gonna happen. Ha!
This was our wedding first dance song, 39 years ago. I waited quite a while for that speacial someone to attach it to. This, in my opinion, is the most beautiful and romantic song ever written. My sincere thanks for such a great classic and a most beautiful song. The days of this kind of music has long since gone but they live on in our hearts.
The greatest back seat music of all time
Yes I fell for it
This song chills me in such a good way i have a hard time catching my breath.
By far the best cover version of the song. Especially the first 30 secs and the way Nate Nelson handles that opening line (listen to what he does to the word *kind*). Highly influential.
The greatest song I ever heard. Can sing in the street, home, concert, and even in church.
