These Cannonball and C2C stories have taught me one thing... There is a whole class of drivers capable of triple digit speeds safely flying across this great country
Over the weekend we shot with the teams that set the Diesel Cannonball Record and the Coast to Coast to Coast record. We will have those coming up over the next few weeks.
Thanks for this video Ed! Ive been wanting to see this one badly. Its been almost a year. I even made it in the video with my stolen valor Mustang pic...lol. Its an honor and a privilege to call you friend sir! Thanks for all ya do!
Have the cops ever once recovered anything you had stolen Ed? Something you didnt find yourself? Or for anyone you know? You tell a hell of a lot of stories where they cant be arsed, and a lot of stories about corrupt cops, you are a self admitted felon, why do you like cops so much?
This is a great episode. No attitude, no bragging, just a great story about an awesome experience. You should have these guys back on the channel. (And I'd love to hear Travis' version.)
This is so cool to see. I met Travis at Penn State a few years back. He is a great dude who is a next level car enthusiast; better yet, a driving enthusiast.
Glad to see there are other Ashmore’s in different states goin fast, some day I hope to be on this channel giving stories about racing, running and all the in between
Interesting how the fox box Cobra has built in wide fenders in the back. I took my driver's test in a 78 Mercury Capri, basically a fox box mustang with fender flares.
Fred seriously underplayed how risky it was going from the start to the highway, Darien Police are no joke, the speed limit is 25, and before the hairpin turn to get on going southbound you have two 90 degree turns in opposite directions within 50 yards
I'm glad you clarified that. I was originally trying to figure out what route they were leaving the Red Bull Garage from. Hairpin onto the interstate made no sense for that. But from Goodwives that makes sense.
I know you probably mean along Route 66, but if the historic route was still complete, fastest route from the start to the end would be almost using no part of Route 66 at all. It is also the same route that cannonballers take when using the northern route up until you have to split off from going to Santa Monica vs. Redondo Beach. It is kind of cool that the interstate system version of route 66 is sometimes used when cannonballing.
I need to know more about that car. 80’s exterior, 90’s interior? Was that built or was that a rare generation change model? I didn’t think that interior would fit in a fox body car. Edit: Never mind. Just watched the build video! Awesome build Fred!!
Am I missing something? I keep on seeing a Fox Body exterior with a SN95 Interior. Did I miss part of the beginning where he was talking about the car?
Ed couple years ago as sales director at lambo atl : im not paying u extra for some coating so my detailers dont have to work as hard Ed after a few big checks from avalon king: cermaic coating adds value to ur car
Fred is my good buddy. I ran with him in this C2C...Ive been waiting for a year for this video!!! Keep ur eyes out for Fred Ashmore! Enjoy the videos as they come out my friend.
Awesome car story Fred and Arthur Ashmore, thank you for promoting Maine :) I do wonder how many cannonballers use Texas foley catheters. (They are not bad)
@@markiangooleySimilar to a condom and you can swap out the leg bag for a larger bag. I was thinking with a solo run you could loose the bag all together and put a hole in the floor board.
My best buddy in highschool bought a gt350 just like that for his first car from an estate sail. Only 62 thousand miles on it he got it for $600.. man we had so much fun back then. Unfortunately Jake was killed the night before graduation by a DUI driver
Several years ago I lived in Seattle and needed to go to a class/seminar in Memphis. I was so busy and distracted that I forgot to arrange my plain flight, car rental and hotel for the event. Finally I find its Friday night and I need to be in Memphis on Monday. My secretary is like "maybe I should arrange for you to make the next one in two months but I had to have this class to keep our franchise license for the business. So I leave at 11pm Friday. I had a highly modified Volvo V40 wagon. ECU has been chipped, tuned, custom turbo, exhaust, sway bars, tower connectors front and rear, dropped springs, custom undercarriage cover and more to make it fast power wise and aerodynamic. Built for top end speed but with great gas milage. This car could cruise at 130mph at only 3k rpm with plenty of room to pull faster and still just sip gas. I found myself crusing at over 130mph most of the way some how not seeing a cop but once. At like 5am in the middle of nowhere a cop pulls up beside me at 110mph and just to show me I was nothing he pulls away from me and leaves me behind for some reason. I pulled into my hometown of Hopkinsville KY at around 11pm Saturday. I had made it a bit more than half way across the country in about 12 hours. Needless to say I made it to Memphis with time to spare doing the same thing going back to Seattle a week later.
That stallion is just so... fuckin... NASTY. It's 100% my style too because, for some ungodly reason, my favorite era of car design is pretty much everyone else's most hated: The 1980s. I can't explain why, but I love all those hard edges on cars that still have that sleek look. The FC RX-7, S12 Silvia, A60/70 Supra, and this car are good examples of just that.
I really hate it when western cops call on truckers to block 2 lane freeway traffic to a crawl. Pretty infuriating especially when you are trying to make a time.
Cupofgo of the several cannon ballers I’ve met, pretty much all of them actually do support the police. Like with Arnie and Doug especially, they are huge police supporters.
Here is how you should have known it was a prank ...NO GUY will EVER say they "can,t drive a standard ".... 100% will say , I have never driven a standard .... so of course they can figure it out...next fucking thing you will have me asking direction !

Happy Labor Day everyone!
Yep
You too
Happy labor day to you also
Lets not make Ed say, " What are youUu DoInG ArReSt tHiS GUY!!," this labor day.

Last time I was this early, dealers didn't hate Ed yet for giving away all their secrets
Lmao
I seen that as really a pro dealership, educational course.
I hope someone is running something like this when I get to a financial position to do things this stupid. Meant with all the love in the world.
There will always be people doing this, i have absolutely no doubts lol

What an amazing story of an epic run. Such great memories for these brothers.
I really like the look of that mustang
12:30 Never make eye contact with the cops, it's like an animal instinct hunt/chase thing. Sunglasses help.
They always tell me to remove my sunglasses, I always say okay if you remove yours
"HE GOES AGAIN" I died laughing
I have done this before with my wife waiting for the bathroom yelling to hurry up she isn't impressed on how much pee I have been holding hahaha
I think the fact they put a sn95 dash in this thing has to be my favorite surprise
That threw me off, I was like "I thought it was a foxbody..."
😉
This video was by far one of the best it brought tears to my eyes because he got to race with his brother and that is awesome
Wtf r u talking about .. he has “ blue lives matter “ on the back of his shitty mustang 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Interesting how the fox box Cobra has built in wide fenders in the back.

The car was custom built in the 80’s for Miami Vice TV SHOW
The blue lives matter sticker to try and dissuade cops from pulling them over 😂

I'm amazed to see a State of Maine inspection sticker on that thing LOL! They wouldn't sticker my 83 capri with an x-pipe and no horn.
Well I’m an inspection station and it passed lol
This is a story about brotherhood and true friendship. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Videos! I have been watching all the vinwiki stories for weeks now and still havent gotten through them all yet!
Imagine a street race from one side of Route 66 to the other
No longer the same road and it doesn't go all the way across in some places anymore more. sorry buddy
We tried to figure a way to do this for years, sadly route 66 is in a pretty bad way in some places, and under the new highway in others.
Yeah, watch "Two Lane Blacktop", dont know how much was on 66 but it was supposed to be cross country.
I know you probably mean along Route 66, but if the historic route was still complete, fastest route from the start to the end would be almost using no part of Route 66 at all.
