Congrats. You just taught your viewers to make napalm type B
Nope, that is made with a different solvent.
@@katiechambers2165 its still acts like napalm given you add enough solvent though
I wanna see if color can be added to it
No YOU did.
@@katiechambers2165 it can be used as napalm given the flammable nature of acetone
You can put your fingers into pure acetone because that’s what nail technicians use to remove acrylic nails and gel polish. I use it all the time. All it really does is dry your fingers out a little
Is that a lower concentration or something though?
@@morscovium8881 no it doesnt, if you wash it off and even then u aint gonna die
The problem isnt that acetone is corrosive, it's the fact that styrofoam acetone mixture is basically napalm. So if you were to accidentally ignite it you would not be able to estinguish it
@@Palladiumavoid you’re not wrong about its flammability, but that isn’t what we’re talking about.
It should solidify as the acetone evaporates, making it hard. Its really good for model making if its the right consistency
That's true
Just use gas then you have napalm
yup use napalm to make models
this is what I was wondering. Is it good for modelling figurines? what would be the right consistency? I can't find videos of modelling with this material anywhere.
@@melanieg19 this is napalm type B
This guy is so polite, you can see him how he's moving bug while disolving styrofoam in acetone.
The forbidden laffy taffy
Couldn't stop thinking about this comment
I did this and it works! It turns into a slime-like consistency and it is sooo soft and fun to play with. U can keep it in a container and it stays good! Just remember not to play with it for too long because it is still acetone!
Very true!
Yea
I try but not work
Vikki Z this is literally how you make napalm. You’re playing with napalm.
@@jamieknight7366 laughed how people didnt know this. Dont play with flame around it. Water wont put it out 😄
Here’s another slime recipe guys
• Nail Polish Remover
• Paper Plate
Nail polish remover is literally 100% acetone lol
Thank you very much for sharing that's wild I haven't seen this before cool
Thank you!
This is the first video I’ve seen of him..I already love him 😂 also does he remind you of crazy Russian hacker?😂😂
Thank you for watching :)
Ya
Me too and I did this before I knew that I could make slime just to see if I made this invention 😂
Its Emzyy OML- FINNALY IM NOT ALONE.
Yeah it reminds me of taras kul/crazy Russian hacker
I love these types of videos, keep making these awesome videos. I do also have some dangerous but cool ideas. One is you could try melting metal, or doing some experiments with liquid nitrogen.
Thank you! I'm planning on doing some experiments with melting metal and liquid nitrogen
Yeah I’m a new subscriber
woow, that's amazing. love your videos!
Thank you!
Kids, don't do that please.
This Slime not just normal Slime, but it is Napalm B.
Napalm in generall is higly flamable and was used in wars to kill.
So satisfying to watch! Great video as always!
Thank you!
Good video! I cannot wait for subsequent movie film!
Fun fact: In the Alien movies, they used this trick to show the Xenomorph acid effect. Very clever!
ohh I see. that's cool
Great video!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you
"do not try this at home" me:seeing someone try it
Don't use vinyl gloves with acetone, its the same as no gloves at all. It feels cold because the acetone has soaked through the gloves and into your skin. Expect to feel sick for a day or two.
You are right about this
Everyone saying this is napalm, no, napalm is gasoline with styrofoam. The acetone is very volatile and would burn away a lot quicker than gasoline, for an incendiary device a longer burn time is favourable, and I'm sure gasoline is less expensive and easier to store.
That's correct
This is napalm type B you usually add acetone to napalm to lower the burning point so this would technically work like napalm maybe not as effective but acetone is much more readily available you can buy it at your local pharmacy for 4 dollars while gasoline is rather expensive and can almost always only be bought in larger amounts and who wants to make 10 pounds of napalm!
Wow 😮 love your videos 👍🏻
Thank you
If you take polystyrene foam....quite a lot of it..... and add some petrol to it the foam will dissolve into a sticky gel and that can be used as a joint filler on wood mixed with some sawdust or stone if you mix crushed kitty litter, tiling grout or plaster of Paris with it too.....it sets rock hard once the petrol has evaporated.
Put is extremly flammable
No I'm pretty sure the acetone just boiled away mostly because it has a fairly low boiling point. I'm sure there is still some acetone in the putty but the majority probably boiled away
You could also use rubbing alcohol, and gasoline or acetone to make this sticky stuff
wow so interesting keep it up!
Thank you!
Oh my God, we made this when I was 5 on a science field trip and I got a severe migraine and blacked out. I thought it was milk with something, but it was this exact consistency.
Oh wow, crazy
Cool video man
Thank you!
In two years ull see people swinging in the city because this can literally be used as web fluid
Can you elaborate a bit more on why can it be used as a web fluid?
this would make for a fantastic magic trick!
It is cold because acetone is a very very very fast evaporating solvent and that's a byproduct of fast evaporation.
Your gloves were melting because you were putting them in acetone.
What you have there is not gooo it is melted plastic and when it dries it'll become hard plastic. When it's melted in acetone like that you can mold it in any shape you'd like!
Very satisfying, keep up the great work!
Yes it is! Thank you!
i wonder if you can reconstitute the stuff, say to spray foam your attic? you would just have to aerate it and dispense it under pressure so it expands.
i was also thinking of using this as an end coat butter between the joists in the old house before shoving fiberglass insulation. i figure if you can stop the small drafts and leaks this might work for prepping some of the areas?
what do you guys think?
This stuff is very flammable
@@pharmerpnw i wonder if you can make home made rocket fuel or some self igniting thermite? mix this with iron and aluminum and magnesium power?
@@jzeerod Well, you can make napalm type B with some gasoline and this stuff.
Too flammable. Even spray foam is flammable
@@heyjello just the ends of the joists. you know when they say you cant vapor barrier from inside, you suppose to have to do it from the exterior. its because you create points where moist inside air escapes you cant get to, so if you coat those parts, they will be less likely to rot in the moisture cycle of winter and summer.
people seem to like spray foam, as long as the thermal breaks and firestopping is installed correctly, which it usually isnt if your just upgrading here and there with the money you have.
It just looks even cooler when U put big pieces in there 👍😂
That looks just like the plasticizer that was used in Wonder Bread!
This is so cool!
:)

Wow this is looking like magic
Yes it does :)
Good way to reuse certain plastics.
I believe this is actually how filmmakers created the acid blood effects in the Alien movies
It could be the way
If you have xylene (not a very friendly solvent), and add about 5% - 10%, it turns the "gel / slime" into "polystyrene paint" - and you can also add pigment (I used coloured silica). Lastly if you add 1% or so of glycerol (baking glycerine) it works as a plsticiser and the product when brushed on and dried remains slightly flexible.
Xylene is not a safe solvent to touch (or inhale / drink etc), but like most chemicals, used carefully, can be useful. Some "mixed solvent thinners" might also convert the slime into "paint" too - as it will contain xylene / toluene etc.
I searched for 'coloured silica' but i am only getting Silica Gel Desiccant Beads in my results. Can you add a link to the pigment you are using? Also, isn't silica essentially sand? Does it actually disolve in acetone or xylene?
I heard you can seal roof leaks with this or other plastic containers , pvc soldiering, even painting wood with this thing. Donyou know of any videos?
I do this to dispose of styrofoam. Styrofoam takes up soooo much landfill space!
That is what you get for giving me goosebumps
What kind of watch is that that you were wearing?
We did that today and we got to play with it!
I think that it is so cool that the slime melt the glove that is soo cool!! Also where can you get the liquid that melts the foam?
I bought it online, it's an acetone
Do not make it its napalm
Don't use the molten polystyrene lava in the fork with it because it can make the for And forks it's also made out of polystyrene
The way you just picked up that bug 💀. I COULD NEVER -
:)
It would be interesting if you made a composit with coffee grounds mixed in.
Styrofoam mix in to gasoline
can dissolve quickly. We used to it as adhesive glue for crafting materials.
Interesting
Don't. That makes napalm. If it catches fire you will have a very bad day.
@@ProfBraino you’re right
That is how you make homemade napalm.. For details look online and be safe while doing such things

What are the thermal properties of the left over goo? Could it be used to create a effective moldable cold pack for injuries?
I don't think so. It was very cold at the very beginning and then it was normal temperature. It can be used as a good fire starter because it burns really well but it's not good for the environment though
It is extremely flammable, so I wouldn't recommend messing with it.
if the acetone is not on the slime then can you use it as styrofoam glue?
Hello!
This is amazing, I am a part of a college club where we are trying to recycle Styrofoam using a similar method. Would love to be guided by you and get in touch!
That slime thing is Napalm. It is used as a weapon during war. Please don't try this.
You're only making napalm
@@Palladiumavoid Also, casually breaking the freaking Geneva convention
That.s really cool
:)
I tried at home before 2008 before 10 years. I was playing with it while i was young boy
Alternate title: How to make napalm
How to make an adhesive.
I was wondering if I can put this into ABS plastic to make decorative mounds? 🤔
totally trying this at home.
I like how even though you are wearing a lab coat, basic scientific phenomenons seem to completely baffle you
You can also use gasoline like my mom also do this as a improvised rubberd cement
Im gonna try this at home
I love napalm xD
Check out all the burns on his arm, dude is legit
Most of these are cat scratches :)
@@pharmerpnw As he said, you legit.
would it be possible to reshape it into something useful afterwards? For example could i reform it into a plate or a cup? I am thinking of trying this so i can turn styrofoam trash into something useful.
Good question. I think it's possible, however napalm is extremely flammable, so it could be dangerous
@@pharmerpnw What you are saying is that if i were to melt styrofoam with acetone i would create an incendiary weapon similar to the one my classmates would have created if i did not warn them to keep the Barium nitrate away from the Bunsen burner in chemistry class? Good to know. I was planning to try this and use it to plug up the holes in my apartment so bugs cannot get in. Have you ever tried growing Clostridium Botulinum and use it to kill rats?
@@boyar1978 yes this is Napalm type B and if you put an oxidizer in it like potassium nitrate it becomes a type of incindeary grenade please don't make this or play with it!

Would like to see what it's like in it's dried out state, how much shrinkage there is, workability etc..
When it dried out it was very hardened. The shape wise, it remained at the same shape as I left it when it was soft
I have a lot of polystyrene from Samsung. Now I know what to do with it, have some fun, and trash it without taking up disposal space!
It's interesting how it dissolves so fast but still it doesn't dissolve completely to form a clear solution. Perhaps the longest chains are left undissolved?
Yes very true. After it stayed like this for a while (like a day) it become hardened
@@pharmerpnw so it does harden?
@@boyar1978 The acetone has a really low evaporation temperature. That's why it feels so cold as well.
This guy: thats crazy
Well i tried this but i had to use my dads special acetone in replacement. It smells kinda funny, im gonna leave it in my kitchen overnight!
How do you safely dispose of the styrofoam blob?
In Vietnam.
Is this a safe way to reduce before recycling styrofoam if I do it outdoors? Any toxic fumes?
I would not recommend it
what is the chemical equaction and what are the products in this experiment?
your mom also shes fat
Can someone tell me how to make a liquidy napalm
I did use this method to make the slime but it won’t last long, it gets harden
Yeah it melts to the glove
Interesting concept. As a plastic modeller, I can see this as something that can be sculpted into a terrain or building and letting it dry. Is this stuff still flammable after it's dried? I'd imagine it's the presence of acetone that makes this basically napalm?
It is basically just napalm
it is basically napalm without the boom boom explody stick everywhere part
I love it
Thank you
Use Xylene. It's stinky, but it turns into clear lacquer. I've used this to waterproof a wooden planter.
if i were to do this at home . Is the main danger it catching fire? Does it catch fire on its own or does it require it to come in contact with a flame? I do not smoke and do not have open flames in my home. I am aware that styrofoam is flammable. How about fumes? I have never worked with acetone before but i am aware that it has an odor. I work with chemicals such as Sodium Hydroxide which I use to make soap, Phosphoric Acid which I use to remove rust, make fertilizers, and wash dishes, and HCl which i mix with aluminum foil in order to produce hydrogen gas so i can fill up balloons. I am aware that the sodium hydroxide reacts with water and create nasty burns if i were to touch it. I am aware that the hydrogen that is created when i mix aluminum and HCl is combustible if it were to come into contact with a flame.
This substance is very smelly and SUPER flammable, so don't try this at home!
I lovw your videos
Thank you :)
Essa massa que vc fez qual a finalidade poderia traduzir em português
If u touch acetone it won't really do anything except be really cold because it evaporates so quickly
Yes you're right about it
The slime is actually like Napalm and you should not play around with it because it is highly flamable and if it burns it will stick to surfaces (your skin) and will not be removable.
What can you se it for?
I think I would wear a respirator
So... What's the ratio of acetone to Styrofoam (oz/ml acetone to lbs/kg Styrofoam)?
I need to know how effective at adhesion this is?
It doesn't look like it's gonna an effective adhesive

can the slime be hardened and later re-used?
It hardened pretty quick
I like how its Napalm that he is making
yeah and its honestly really bad
If you want to play with it without gloves maybe use nail polish remover
Winston Churchill was a sick dude!
I accidentally just did this because all I had was a styrofoam bowl and I was trying to clean some paint brushes by letting them soak in the paint remover which had acetone
Put acetone in a Styrofoam cup, and I found out as tone dissolve Styrofoam
Uhm, hey. What kind of acetone are you using? Like is it a 100% percent acetone?. Just asking for some research purposes. I hope you answer ASAP☹️ THANK YOUU
