My car is 13 years old, and the paint is not in amazing condition. I've moved all over the country and enjoyed some amazing road trips in this car. So the paint has taken a beating.
But nothing like living in an apartment complex for the last 2 years! My apartment neighbors clearly hated looking at my Mercedes, because they beat the hell out of my car. Including a nice key mark on the back quarter panel.
Scratch X made a big visible improvement in the deep scratch, but it didn't completely remove it.
It did remove finer scratches, scuff marks, and cloudy paint though! So I'm very pleased with the results of this product. Especially for under $20.

The general rule of thumb with scratch removal/paint correction is that if you can catch your fingernail in it, you'll never completely remove it. That Meguiars seems to have done a great job for a budget solution.
It did much better than expected. This was a pretty deep scratch, and I was not expecting much in terms of results.
Now that my car has been out in the sunlight a couple of times, I'm even happier with the results. It looks a lot better than before.
Will it work on faded headlight?
@@lovernotafighter1074 I haven't tried it! But Meguiar's makes PlastX which might be a better fit for headlights
I used it on my black car on clear coat surface scratches and it works great. They disappear. If the scratch is down to the original paint or primer, it won't fix them, but it will look better.

Where the scratches noticeable again the next day? I’ve tried to get rid of some scratches before and I thought I got rid of them then they came back as if the polish dried out.
You can still see them faintly, but it was a huge improvement over the original scratches. They are much finer now.
I was doing an oil change in my pick up truck and while under the truck my daughter picked up a rock from my driveway and went to town on my wife’s Jetta 😢, gonna try this product to see if I can save a trip to the body shop
Ooooooof 😮💨 kids… I can relate. Mine threw a rock through the back windshield of my benz. Hope you’re able to get those scratches out or at least make it presentable!
Don’t use this crap it leaves white clouds mostly on dark cars
Looks better and less noticeable than the scratches I had before 🤷🏽♂️
Think that scratch remover has filler in so probably masking the problem rather than removing it.
I just got some scratches off my black car using Farecla G3 pro scratch remover (which has no fillers) then buffed it with auto glym super resin polish and finally added some spray on ceramic coating.
The super resin polish buffs it a little and then fills in the light scratches, the ceramic cost will keep the filler in the scratches longer.

After washing does it stay on?
So far, so good. I’ve washed my car twice and it looks the same.
One thing I’ve noticed: in very bright sun, I can see swirl marks where I did the repair. But it’s better than the obvious key marks I had before

@@HokageTanjiro I'm going to try a clay bar, then Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, and Ultimate Liquid Wax. That's the plan anyways. Sounds like a bunch of work though and I'm already wondering if I should just hire somebody... lol
@@reubenrock for me after using scratch X I had a lot of hologram left from the drill and product. According to the research I did you can just use a polisher to buff it out. Of course it has to be clean and clay barred.
